@@RyanKorea Hi. I've gone back to the stomp over a year ago. The QC was staring to annoy me if im honest. But the Stomp has been updated twice and now it sounds absolutely amazing!! On par if not better than the QC IMO. Line 6 has upped their game big time and im so glad i went back - and i plan on staying :))
Hello John, First of all, thank you for all your good videos, I've learned a lot, so thank you again 🙂...... What I write now is NOT a criticism, it is MY perception of Your sound. Whether it's a Line6 Helix or quad Cortex or other type of Amp Modeler/Multi-FX Processor you'll always sound like you, that's a great thing keep up the good work and thanks again. Best Regards
Thanks for great video re QC. So many choices, but the great cleans you highlight are super. What made this video very instructional was the tone refs. and examples of tones of great quite heavy clean users such as John Mayor, Bonamassa etc. Great job - went and build the same clean chain with 2 amps! Thanks John!
I as general observation, I noticed that to turn off a block, you select it and turn it off from the edit screen. You can also double tap the block to toggle it on and off.
I've tried all these clean amps John, but keep going back to the Lone Star. It just has a character the others seem to be missing. I do keep the master high to avoid preamp clipping. The others all sound good and are quite flexible. But they seem to be missing some magic that's in the Lone Star. It could of course be the particular amps they used in the deep capture process.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. The presets seem very much impacted by the pickups. I play a Music Man JP-25 and the pickups seem to be pretty hot and middy. Finding great distorting amps is easy, but getting clean ones to work with magnetic pickups of this guitar is more difficult. The acoustic sounds I get are amazing, but the only way to get cleaner electric tones without them sounding honky is with the pickup selector in the middle with the coils tapped, which can sound Tele-like. This the amps/cab in this preset might work really well for that, so thanks again.
Killer as always. Love JM style cleans. Would love to hear a preset emulating Blown wide open, The Oaf from Big Wreck or Ghosts from Ian Thornly of Big Wreck. 🙏🏼
That intro! I need you to explain your thought process of that intro. I love your playing. What do you think are the biggest factors in your style? Like, Jazz theory of following the chord tones, etc. What music theory concepts do you apply most often?
Love your tones John! I tried to create the exact preset but it doesn’t sound the same as yours. Is it because of the amp that I’m using? The output goes to my Roland jazz 120 amp.
Well… he’s probably going from his unit direct to his daw. If you go to a Roland you have the Roland tones… even flat. It’s not really just a power amp. Also the speakers have a color to them. Also the type of guitar you play through the unit is a factor. Lots of factors.
Pretty sure he has, seen a few videos where he plays through some real boogie amps. One of his videos goy me really interested in the boogie markv25. I'm sure that video is on his channel.
@@blue_mountains28 I'll have a look. I'd love to see a great pedalboard v one of these modellers. I'm just a pedal fan and prefer the old school approach. I just think actual pedals are cooler.
Great demo, mate! The SW amp was based on a Dumble Modified Super Reverb. Figured I’d drop that note in for anyone wanting more specifics. Cheers!
Awesome thanks!!
Somehow right away, i could tell this was not coming from a Helix. This sounds so real and very pleasing. The QC rules them all IMO
Somehow. Was it perhaps the title of the video?
@@brownmoney27 Well somehow, ive managed to sell the QC and now i use a HX Stomp. 😂😂
@PhiLikeFlying Are you liking the Stomp more than the QC? I sold my Stomp a few months ago to try other modellers and now I think I made a mistake 😂

Thanks John. I really like the videos you do for the Quad Cortex - I find them very useful and informative. Great playing too, as ever 😊

Was fun following along as I made the same adjustments.
Man, absolutely awesome playing! Definitely considering picking up a QC for myself here soon.

Wow thanks for that😅
I think the Morgan50 is one of the best "pedal platform" amps in the QC period

Finaly ordered mine, looking foward to trying this out!
As a clean amp user, thanks for this
man that first solo was fire!
I tried this out last night. Very great feel and tone. Bassy and dark stock but that can be worked out (balanced) for the most part
I use since now ukac30 but this amp sounds really good!! :D thanks for all this content John!! It's really healpful
Best amp/cab combo for Jazz would be a good video! At the moment I'm using the Princeton for my archtop
Ooh nice!!
Hey man, really great videos! Helps me a lot to get great tones at the beginning from the QC! 🙏🏻😊
Awesome video, about to get one of these and these tones are great.

@@Whispererinthenoise absolutely
That’s great man . Which fender is this ? The model I mean . Pickups ?
This video is still useful….. 1 year later - Thanks again.
What about a Mayer ´´ slow dancing in a burning room ´´ build in the QC 🙏🏻
Thanks John, however my question as a new QC owner, how do I get a crystal clean tone that’s loud with no hair?
hey John, great stuff man. so I went to your site, to buy some presets for the QC...but I dont see any for the QC ?
Nice player and great video too
Great Job as usual, in an earlier video you asked for suggestions, Would love to see Nd hear Jeff Beck fro Blow by Blow
Great stuff. I don’t own a QC but it looks awesome… apart from not having a built in power supply 🤦🏼♂

John, if you only recorded at home and didn’t do any live or session work would you bother with modellers or just use plugins?
I was struggling to get a clean sound. The only one that worked for me was the Bogner Uber Clean.
Hey John, what would you recommend for drum loops and progressions to practice and jam along to? Free or cheap preferably
Give the vemural ray OD pedal a try in front of these amps as well as the bogner uber clean, you might like that one too
Surprised i liked the Uber clean.
How do you record the audio from QC for a video? Do you sync later video + audio track or can you record directly into the phone?
Thanks a lot, very useful to me!
May I ask John, if you're using hx effects, quad cortex and helix what would be your go to amp aside from using pa system.
Did you purchase S-Gear?
I think the Bogna Uber clean channel is the best clean amp.
How u get so much volume at only half "big knob" volume ;-?
Great
The hp too. With tonestack dropped proportionally. Ops... edit...i see now you've used the hp..sorry
Why does this sound sped up? I checked my settings, and I'm listening at "Normal" speed. I feel like there's a joke I'm missing.
Playing normal speed here.
@@bryantwalley interesting. Playing normal speed on my phone, but sped up on my Mac. Need to figure that one out…
Dumble small special 50
That's the Morgan amp inspiration
Please build yourself a great pedalboard without any modelling and play through a valve amp. I'd love to see that.

what funeral?
