- We proudly present the result of the first ever dedicated photoshoot of a Gripen C flying together with a Gripen E. This will soon be a familiar sight in the skies above Sweden, and hopefully other nations as well.
A special thanks to the Swedish Air Force Heavy Airlift Wing at Såtenäs that made it possible to get this footage.

As a norwegian i always wanted Norway and Denmark to go for the Gripen too after the F-16 era. The Nordic friendship is too important as well as keeping things independent from others who are far away and have other interests.
The F-35 is a nice fighter, but the Gripen is a product from Sweden and Scandinavia, which is tailor made for these lands. I love the footage, it is truly a beautiful fighter.

It would have been a perfect match I am sure of. Politics are key to selling military aircraft. Not technology (which is, of course, the foundation for it).

the f-35 does bring capability to the table the gripen does not though, hopefully they can supplement each other when Sweden joins NATO.
@@HughEve As far as i know the F-35 must always remain in a "Fire First" position and pretty much never get into a defensive position in order to dominate. In the early stages of testing and delivering, the F-35 lost several times against the French Rafale and the F-16 in dogfights. It was in these tests the F-35 got the nickname "Fat Amy".
But with a combined nordic airforce i’m pretty sure it’s not going to be a problem anyways. Dogfights is a thing of the past they say.

Agreed, albeit having seen gripen in the viggen splinter camo I wish they still used that to this day.
This camo is present in Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown.
The paint/chemicals are even optimized regarding minimum harm to life, humans and nature while not being "greenwashing".

Since idk for an month now The Swedish Government was okay for the Philippines of purchasing the Gripens and SAAB was ako okay with it the only problem we are facing was for our government to approve the purchase.

In fact the SAAB Draken with different horizontal stabilizer = 6th Generation Jet Fighter. If you Look at the air-intakes the SAAB Draken is a morphed Horten IX with Verticals... So the SAAB Draken is not a V-shaped Jet, which is optimized for subsonic only.
What's inherent at the SAAB Gripen is of importance. It's more an weapon- and system-carrier than Just a Jet. So electric, electronics, computing and Software for These weapons and systems are important.
Maybe the SAAB JAS 39 Gripen is the Most beautiful Jet. For Sure it is the Most advanced weapon- and system-carrier under the Jets. Always a step ahead via Software... This is Like at passenger cars and other vehicles.
If you are swedish go for it, unless you are too old? Pretty sure the Airforce is looking to get more pilots in.

* Hungary
And UK always have some SAAB JAS 39 Gripen for Training purposes.
Beyond Europe e.g. Brazil is ramping Up a new SAAB JAS 39 Gripen E and Gripen F fleet with the First Gripen F build in Brazil by Embraer.

God I wish that one day Poland will have Gripen C/E in their arsenal. As F-35 is cool, MiG-29 is such a beautiful plane, and F-16 is really good balance between Light-weight fighter and interceptor (overall Mulitrole), but Gripen alongside Rafale have something so... Magical... In them.

@@thecommentator3732 the f35 is only cheaper when actually buying it coming in at 80m dollars per unit while the gripen is 85m dollars per unit but in reality the f35 becomes waaaay more expensive in the long term because of the way higher price per flight hour, the f35 cost around 35k per flight hour and the gripen only 5k, so lets say you buy 100 f35's, every f35 does a 150 flight hours each, thats 15000 flight hours at 35k which becomes 525 million dollars whilst the gripen with the same amount of planes and hours would only cost around 75 million dollars, ive also seen sources saying the flight hour for the f35 is even higher than that so your argument that the F35 is cheaper is simply wrong (cope)

800 m runways on local roads as dispersed airbases is perfect for Ukraine. Sweden knows Russia knocks out airports first, which makes F-16 grounded.

That's why Belgium should not chose for the F35, beautiful and powerfull planes.
... powerful* - Belgium is home to NATO's civil branch headquarters and heavily relies on its neighbouring countries military assistance since its own military is quite small. So it cannot afford to buy military equipment from a non-NATO country.

Makes so much sense, to have the E and C as a High-Low mix. Well, for Me at least. C as a lead in, E as an Advanced fighter. Both, extremely capable forces, and after a couple of 100 hours on C, the best aircrew move on to E.
