    Brilliant video as always! Love surface fishing like that, so visual and exciting. That seal is a crack up. So funny seeing it take fish off people lines and often chases people up the beach as they run away dragging their fish. Cheers

      Thanks for the great comment, Jay. I'm a bit disappointed that it was hard to see the fish attacking the lure on top of the water. I have another video that I haven't edited yet, and that should show the chase much clearer and footage should be closer. Yep, that seal is persistent alright. Cheers mate

      It is 8ft and the rod was from Hunting & Fishing and the reel was from Complete Angler. Cheers

    Hey there went for a look to buy that backbone rod today but I couldn’t find a 8 ft version. would it be a 2 piece 8ft 2 rod for the canal?

    Just wondering what lure do you use and should i remove treble hooks and replace with single hook

    • @canterburyfishingadventures
      @canterburyfishingadventures  Год назад +1

      I use a 22gm silver ticer, I would remove the treble hook because it is easier to remove a single hook from a fishes mouth.

    Hi there Mate just wondering what rod and reel combo you are using

    • @canterburyfishingadventures
      @canterburyfishingadventures  Год назад +1

      Hey there Jonte, its a Shimano Backbone Spin rod coupled with a Penn 4500 Spinfisher reel.

      @@canterburyfishingadventures I thought you used a spinfisher VI3500? Also do you use whiplash braid? I remember you used to use 30lb but use 20lb now. Is it 20lb whiplash? I have the backbone and penn vi3500 with 30lb whiplash but need to respool it and am considering going 20lb instead. Just wondering what you would recommend for the kahawai. Cheers!

      @@kpcscience I think 20lb is sufficient for kahawai. cheers

    Try a homemade saltwater fly on a double hook and a split shot above it on 10LB Line, Or a double hook spinner where the body and the blade move together, now that's some fun. If we ever run into each other I will give you a couple. for free of course.

    Damn bro chill out on the fish - looks like you need pliers.

      I just use my hands most of the time, the foot is held very lightly on the fish to stop it from splashing wet sand over my face.

    Treat the fish with some respect! Standing on it, then kicking it into the water. Disgusting conduct.
