- The ALL NEW Durango Hellcat is here, and Dodge did not hold back. Under the hood is a 6.2L supercharged Hemi that is pumping out 710HP & is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Getting the power to the ground is an AWD system with launch control. On the exterior you will find a unique front fascia, hood, wheels, rear bumper and roof spoiler. The Durango has become underappreciated. After all this time, it's still a fast, great looking, and highly competent SUV that won't break the bank.

The Durango chassis isn't that old, it was created in 2011, refreshed only 3 years later, and the powertrain even down the to V6 has gotten continuous upgrades over the years, and now the interior gets a touch. The main reason to abandon a chassis entirely is when it no longer performs in the latest crash tests, but the Durango does well in everything except the small overlap crash test on the driver's side (but so do most in its class as its a really hard test). One advantage of making incremental updates too is that it has allowed them to work kinks out, and Consumer Reports now ranks Dodge in their top 10 most reliable brands which is a first for that publication.
Pretty soon FCA will be introducing the Hellcat Pacifica. FCA way of creating a new model is not just dropping in a regular Hemi, but a 710 horsepower Hemi for a family hauler. I love new my new Chrysler 300C with a 5.7, 363 horsepower Hemi. I don't need 710 horsepower to be happy with my 300C, or the ridiculous price FCA charges for the Durango Hellcat. It's strange FCA won't build an SRT 300 for the US, yet they give the Durango SUV a monster engine, a few body mods and a revamped interior and boom. A new model is born. This is an SUV. Not a coupe or sedan. A heavy SUV. Basically your purchasing a decade old design with these few body mods and a new interior with 710 horsepower giving your family enjoyment for a meager starting price of $82,200. That's like buying two negotiated priced 300C or Charger RT's. Is my 300C dated. Yes, but it still has a special and attractive style plus I was able to buy it for the same price as a base Fusion. With things changing in our Government. The days may be numbered for these type of vehicles with new Cafe regulations looming. I know they will sell, but if I'm going to spend $80,000+ for an older styled SUV because it's called a Hellcat. It will be a few years from now after original owners eat the depreciation and realize they didn't really need an overpriced 710 horsepower SUV.
*DumbDuck44*. So your willing to pay over $82,000 for a Durango Hellcat because it has a big and loud engine? With $8200 down. That's over a $1100 car payment for 84 months at 6% interest, plus insurance. That's a nice house payment. Regarding a new frame in 2011. I believe the only changes happen to the body. Not the frame

the RT tow n go is honestly the best one of the bunch. It gets you the same suspension, tires, brakes and awd system, but with the 5.7 hemi that doesn't get 10mpg

These things are badass. The anrkuos and availability will be insane, but if we weren't buying a house this year, the F8 Green Hellcat would be in my driveway asap.
This thing will likely shoot up in value after next year when they stop making it and the emissions bullshit makes it impossible to ever have a supercharged V8 from the factory again.
That said, their excuse for no fog lamps is a copout. They easily could have put them elsewhere in the bumper or used an LED strip fog lamp around the location where it normally is. But that's just a nitpick. Neither of my vehicles have foglamps and I don't find myself wanting them but maybe once or twice per year.
