Honestly you shouldn’t tell anyone what not to use especially when it comes to drive modes, I bought my 21 DDSRT for myself as a retirement treat, I’m not here to burn up my car and beat the shit out of it, it’s my pride and joy. The Eco mode was great on my 570 mile trip, and locally too, I don’t jump on it at the light or act a fool burning up my very expensive tires, when I need power I know it’s there but Eco mode should be used all the time when not acting a fool! 😎👍🏾
I am not a big fan of FCA, im not even a big fan of suvs, but i will admit that this durango looks dam good and i think this is one hell of a set up. Good job Ben on getting hands on this one.
You can get red calipers on the RT also. I think for the money one should just buy the RT with the "Tow & Go" package and then throw on a supercharger! You'll have an exact SRT for less and insurance cost will be less. Edit: would also love to hear what cabin-noise there is on interstate going about 75-85mph?
You will not have a warranty though. Depends on what the person is looking for. You will need the brembos and awd performance package to handle the power also. You wont get the srt modes though with rt. Again, depends on what you want.
Love the improvements overall but I have to say that The RT with 365 hp goes for around $52K so you are paying 20k extra for additional 100 horses and better breaks..and launch control. I think they should of made the SRT wider or add something that would separate it from the RT or GT looks.
And suspension and exhaust? I drove a test drove a RT this weekend and it felt like cold porridge. Unfortunately the front fascia was originally sRT exclusive in 2018 then they ported to the RT. (I think). But I agree. They should make it more. Aesthetically unique. Probably trying very hard to not have complexity in parts management.
@@chitterlingsrtasty get the tow and go package, for 5K you get the brembo brakes, srt 20 x 10 wheels and run flat tires, srt exhaust and suspension and drive modes and all the performance pages.
Our SRT seats are so much nicer than the seats in our RT had. Much more padding and support making for a more comfortable ride especially on long trips. I actually hated the seats in our RT. Just another part of the extra price that is all part of that $20,000 price increase.
Gas mileage is horrendous, would that bother you? Some dude was using his as a daily driver and he mentioned $40 every two days. I’m not sure what his commute was but that’s a lot
@@MarvFitBikesKicks understood. I personally have never looked at mileage as a factor of purchasing a vehicle. If you ever get the chance to drive one I think you’d enjoy it although it’s not for everyone I know.
There are more materials in a durango. Specifically the awd system. And most durango srts are optioned out. A 38k scatpack will not have a whole lot of options to its name.
This is very nice suv. Lots of features and power. The only issue is no charger for the 3rd row but with the center console option it’s pretty easy to wire some in
This is a beast of an SUV_ Yes there is the Lamborghini Urus, Bentley Bentayga, and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, that are much faster than this but this still delivers.
Black only looks good on this car for the first few weeks. Whether you take it to a car wash or wash it yourself you will see those hairline scratches quickly appearing on the clear coat. That is the number one thing that starts to make the car look older.
That’s what I’m looking to get this year before these cars are gone. Prices have gone up considerably since this review and cars like this are now going for $80K+
Hahaha. Smack their heads!!! My man, another very good, to the point review! Waiting for the 2022 Grand Cherokee. Mainly for the Uconnect 5.0 Gen. Although, this Durango is very tempting.......
I tend to agree. looking into a black one a lot of dealers like ordering with the blackout package. It’s nice to breakup some of the blackness with some chrome and red.
Great review, thanks! Does this have the premium interior package option? Trying to compare what is the difference with or without the option and figure out if it’s worth it.
nevermind, got my answer on dodge.com. Premium interior package has red leather material around the instrument panel. I think the black interior as shown on this review looks great!
I’m looking for a SUV and would love one of these or the Grand Cherokee SRT but both of them are just too damn expensive. Like I get the engine and power but for as much as their charging for these things I could go get me a Hellcat Redeye..
no bird eye view? no rear view camera… i would get this if they at least put those two things… currently own 2019 escalade… deciding between 2021 escalade vs this… feels like a downgrade when u get used to all the bells a whistles…
Beautiful view until it gets to shut up when it's time for us to listen to the motor. Instead he just talks through it and tells us how great it sounds while talking the entire time so you can never actually hear it what he's talking about or how the vehicle sounds. So please be conscious and be quiet during the motor sound.
My wife sold her charger RT for her Durango RT because she wanted awd for Wi winters. she recently traded the RT for the 392SRT Durango, she won’t go back to a rwd car. She loved my TA392 but only in summer, her Durango gets used all year round here in Wi and she now prefers the higher seating position for better view in traffic. Another factor to go Durango would be if you want to tow something, car you can’t, Durango you can. Basically just a much more practical vehicle.
@@Issa_aj Yes this is faster, but how fast can you really go on the street? Unless you live in Europe or take this to the track on the regular the ST is plenty fast enough.

That’s honestly always been a problem for FCA cats especially during the 2013- now. Their black is cheap I suggest another color and ceramic coating
This is a really cool spec for an SRT Durango.
70k might as well get a track hawk at that point
Take the family on trips, NO eating or drinking inside the vehicle tho. 😅😅😅
I’ll take this over the hellcat

SRT 6.4L 400+ HP
OR
HELLCAT 6.2L 700+ HP

17 000 $ more for hellcat
If you want 710 hp
