- An inhaler is the most common way to take asthma medicine. In order to get the medicine all the way to the lungs, you need to use a spacer. If you don’t use a spacer, only about 1/3 of the medicine gets to the lungs. Visit www.choa.org/asthma for more information.

what kinda soap do i use? cause ive got dish soap,body soap, and clothing soap, which would work best... cause last time i used dish soap... and well. it didnt work too well, left a dose of residue and made it all fogged up
Hunlover123601 I just use warm water with no soap that what my pharmacy told me to do try it it might work better

I am using inhaler for my kid with spacer but there are fumes coming out from top of canister. How to control that and where does fault lies.

I think mouth piece is faster but the mask is slower but more effective
My spacer honks if I just use the mouthpiece, but not if I use the mask, so I guess it depends on your condition and preference.
Mask is for newborn to 7/8 mouthpiece is for 8 and older

Ya basically you have to shake it and the like use it in the air to make sure it’s working they asked me to do that with my inhaler
Step 1. Prime the inhaler before use according to the manufacturers instructions .
Step 2. Stand or sit up straight
Step 3. Take off cap and shake the inhaler
Step 4. Insert the inhaler into the end of the spacer.
Step 5. Breathe out all the way
Step 6. Place mask firmly on face covering nose and mouth. Press down on inhaler and breathe in and out slowly 6 times.
Step 7. Shake inhaler before taking each puff. If more than one puff is ordered, wait 30 seconds to 1 minutes between each puff
Step 8. Wipe face, rinse mouth or drink water after using rescue inhalers that have steroids medicine.
Clean spacer once per week, pull pieces apart and soak in warm soapy water for 15 minutes. Then rinse, and allow tp air dry then reassemble , do not wipe the inside of spacer as there is a special lining to help delivery of medication to lungs.

Hold your breath after directly using the inhaler. You don't need to hold breath after using the spacer.

HSP PSH you should be using the blue one. That’s for age 1-4

I use a blue spacer and I am 13. Don’t worry about using the mask for some people it helps them weather they are adults or children
I think you have difficulty with the mouthpiece you can use an adult small or adult large mask adult large is for elderly people so I recommend adult small
