I still can't forget last year when Speilberg won Director, Banshees and Fabelmans won Best pictures . I feel the same this year seeing Scorsese win, with Killers as best picture drama. Golden Globes is always a chaos
This is one of Scorecese's best works. I am a huge fan, however Christopher Nolan is way overdue. Both films were great and they will duke it out for best picture. I could see Nolan getting Best Director and Killers getting Best Picture.
One thing I noticed is since La La Land, the Screenplay prizes at GG have gone to films that were not just Original Screenplays but also were written in part by their respective directors. For now, I'm currently predicting Past Lives to win at GG.
I would love a Rosamund Pike win in BSA for Saltburn. I feel like she’s being underestimated & slept on a little bit. Her performance is exactly as you described it, she’s a highlight of the (bonkers) film & her lines/joke deliveries are all over social media at the moment. So I think she stands quite a good chance - especially as she comes across so genuine and charming in key interviews when promoting the film and discussing her nomination. If she doesn’t win I think she’d be at least in second place on the ballot. I dunno if she’ll make it to the Oscars though, but can definitely see a BAFTA heading her way for sure.
Rosamund Pike in particular, but the female actors more generally (plus Richard E. Grant) were, by far, the best thing about that film. As much as I wanted it to work, it's just not a great film imo.
My predictions: Giamatti (comedy) Stone (comedy) Cooper (Drama) Gladstone (Drama Oppenheimer or Maestro (Drama) Poor Things or Barbie (Comedy) Nolan or Scorsese (Director) Poor Things or Barbie (Screenplay) Downey jr. or Ruffalo (Suporting) Joy Randolph (Suporting) Thanks for reading :)
Lily Gladstone wins the Oscar or we riot. Also could y’all imagine if the race was between her and Fantasia. I’ve heard that she was great in “The Color Purple” but everyone and I mean everyone is calling Danielle Brooks the standout. Da’vine better sweep but Danielle is the Threat.
I know that I'm reminded that Giamatti wasn't even nominated for Sideways at the Oscars, and am still pissed. That said, lol, he takes Comedy and Murphy takes Drama and sets up a character actor battle at the Oscars. Stone gets Comedy and Gladstone takes Drama, but if there's an upset I'm seeing Greta Lee. And Globes, adding fluff like Popular Movie (hello Taylor), why can't they split Screenplay?
Don’t mind a Sandra Huller win. Haven’t seen Poor Things or Killers of the Flower Moon yet, but Sandra Huller is my favorite performance of the year so far.
Caught up on so many movies this weekend -- Maestro, Dream Scenario, and Anatomy of a Fall -- before I watched this. I think your predictions are on point. I do think Bradley Cooper does an amazing job in Maestro, and if there's anything for that movie to win, it's best actor (but I much more enjoyed Carey Mulligan's performance). Let's talk about Sandra Hüller -- WOW. If she wasn't up against Gladstone I'd definitely get behind her and now I want to watch everything she's ever done (and will do). Dream Scenario was such a joyful surprise for me...reminded me of Charlie Kaufman in the best of ways, and Nicolas Cage's performance was perfect in every way. So excited to watch all the televised awards this year -- have you considered livestreaming during them? :)
what is confusing with the Globes is how is May December a comedy? There was nothing funny about it. Of course it's how the producers submit it,...so what's up with them too?

I need Natalie Portman to get an Oscar nom for her performance in May December. The fact that the film was placed in Comedy/Musical really hurts her campaign, but I’d it’s one of her best (if not her best) performances, there should be no reason she isn’t nominated.
@@iamsoverybored878 damn. That’s honestly upsetting to hear but you’re definitely not alone. A lot of people hate the theater now. Still think you’re missing out on some great experiences tho!
@@iamsoverybored878. I don’t think Oppenheimer is in theaters now. You missed arguably the best film making in decades. Watching it on the big screen with surround sound as embracing as it is, the film blows you away. (Excuse the pun.😏) Shot in IMAX, screened in IMAX, this film is extraordinary.
The second way you pronounced Barry Keoghan was correct. It's "Key-Own", but you kind of skip the e sound in Key and go straight from the k sound into the y sound.
Brian, go with your gut and pick Past Lives for screenplay. Poor Things is a grand achievement but it has flaws and very divisive whereas Past Lives is beloved and its screenplay seamless. Ultimately, GG with its new voters are unpredictable. The only clues we have are which films they are leaning towards via multiple nominations.
I’d be shocked if anyone other than Emma Stone wins for Actress-Comedy or Musical. JLaw and Robbie are hard no for me. Portman and May December shouldn’t win anything either. Maybe Fantasia, but the acclaim for Stone and Poor Things is very strong.
Cooper can win at the Globes, but let me remind you again that the Oscar to award actors that direct themselves. Look at Cooper losing to Malik, Affleck getting snubbed, it simply doesn’t happen it doesn’t matter how “overdue” the person is.

Barry said that HE pronounces his name as Kee-O-gin and that the correct way is Kee-OWN. But nobody uses that latter pronunciation. Most say Kee-O-gin and it's the closest we have to a consensus.
I've finally seen Killers of the Flower Moon last night, and while Lily Gladstone is very good, to me she doesn't beat Carey Mulligan or Sandra Hüller.
I would love if Sandra Huller or Carey Mulligan won best actress in a drama. (I would also love if Greta Lee won but that's unfortunately not going to happen). I could see Huller or Mulligan winning. (I prefer Anatomy of a Fall over Maestro as an overall film, but just going with their performances). Their performances are both wonderful and I just feel like they each show much more range and do much more, both in dramatic and subtle ways, than Gladstone did. Gladstone was certainly good, and I get wanting to award Killers somewhere, but I don't think her performance was as strong (partially just in terms of what she was given) as these two.
I personally did not care for Oppenheimer but Cillian killed it. He has my vote. Maestro is frankly offensive to Bernstein in my opinion. Would never vote for Cooper.
I could honestly see Jodie Foster winning another Golden Globe for best supporting actress in a drama. (I love her though so I wouldn't be mad if she won). All the nominees in that category though are astounding, so It's hard to predict who will win it!

I don’t understand why this video was made before the critic even saw all the movies?! Time and again he says “I haven’t seen” then attempts to make a less than fully informed opinion. Take 24 more hours, see The Color Purple, see nominee Timothée Chalamet’s Wonka. Then, when fully informed, only then should predictions be made. I question who approved the premature production of this piece when the critic failed to see all of the bodies of work in the categories. smh
I want Hüller to win Drama and Robbie or Pöysti to win Comedy to keep things interesting. Would be a boring season if Gladstone or Stone sweep everything even though they're both great. And Hüller gave my favorite performance by anyone all year so I would be happy to see her get something (BAFTA is a real possibility too).
Great predictions, Brian. I do agree we'll most likely get a repeat of Brendan Fraser & Austin Butler with Cillian Murphy & Bradley Cooper. Murphy wins SAG & Cillian wins BAFTA, with the latter potentially winning the Oscar like Olivia Colman & Frances McDormand did. I do also see Lily & Emma winning their awards culminating in another exciting actress race. Very good comparison with Sandra Huller & Isabelle Huppert, I could also see that same trajectory as well. Another great video, Brian ❤ I do also see Billie Eilish comfortably winning Best Song for What Was I Made For? Excited to see Society Of The Snow on Netflix next week nominated for Foreign Language Film as Spain's entry for the Oscars.
Even though, I haven't seen all the films, but I recently watched the movie "Rustin" and Colman Domingo was phenomenal. He's my pick to win. He probably won't, but so far, I want him to win the Golden Globe and get the Oscar nomination and win. Cillian Murphy was great in Oppenheimer, but Colman was more memorable for me. I love Bradley Cooper, but I wasn't feeling his performance in "Maestro." For me, "Maestro" is the most underwhelmed, overhyped movie of the year. I wanted to know more about Bernstein. After one hour of the movie, I'll we concentrate on was the love story between his wife and he's gay. After one hour of that, I stopped caring. I'm like, "Come on. Lets get into something else. I don't care." So, yeah. I want Colman to win.
I think we are going to see allot of televised sweeeps this year in major categories. Oppenheimer is sweeping Best Picture awards, Nolan will sweep director everywhere as I think Robert Downey Jr will as well. His narrative is too strong to deny this year it’s his time. Lily Gladstone will sweep all the Best Actress awards as it’s here that KOTFM will be awarded. Best supporting will probably be Da’Vine Joy Randolph most likely and Best Actor is between Bradley Cooper and Cillian Murphy where I think Bradley Cooper will edge out Murphy for the Oscar.
No, not Cooper! That performance is way over the top, a cringey impersonation, a caricature. The BEST performance in the category? Hands down Cillian Murphy who EMBODIES the man.
Davine hasn't lost any critic choice award. She has won everything. The colour purple is falling off at the box office. The budget was 100 million dollars, yes u heard me right 100 million dollars. Why would they use 100 million dollars for musical remake?

I feel like Gosling would win that so would Margot Robbie for the best actress in a musical or comedy!
How TF did color purple not get nominated for best picture musical or comedy.
Cause the movie was released late
@@singstreetcar5881 Danielle brooks was nominated …..
Movie was released late. Not sure if voters considered it, but Alice Walker (author of the book) has spread heinously antisemitic conspiracy theories which might make some voters hesitant to reward the film
@@tylerkochman1007 she anti-zionsim not anti sitsim..she refusee rasist
@@marrmart7690 no, she is a major antisemite. She has spread some of the most heinous smears against Jewish people.
Cillian Murphy will win best actor. Andrew Scott should win. Phenomenal performance. I can’t believe he’s not being talked up more.
I still can't forget last year when Speilberg won Director, Banshees and Fabelmans won Best pictures . I feel the same this year seeing Scorsese win, with Killers as best picture drama.
Golden Globes is always a chaos
But Spielberg and Fabelmans were the favorites going into the Globes. Thats the big difference this year.
My predictions:
Giamatti (comedy) Stone (comedy)
Cooper (Drama) Gladstone (Drama
Oppenheimer or Maestro (Drama)
Poor Things or Barbie (Comedy)
Nolan or Scorsese (Director)
Poor Things or Barbie (Screenplay)
Downey jr. or Ruffalo (Suporting)
Joy Randolph (Suporting)
Thanks for reading :)
Lily Gladstone is amazing in this film. She has to win the Globe and the Oscar.
Danielle Brooks for Supporting Actress!!!!
Please no Cooper for Maestro. Mark my words, that win will age terribly
It will not cause cooper has a narrative and that narrative could get him the win out of the 9th noms he has
I desperately want Cooper to win everything just to see you people cry. Yall are more obsessed over this than you claim Cooper is.
@@jurney3478 fr
I agree he was better in a star is born but baby Carey Mulligan stole the movie to me…
Its ok if Cooper not win here in Golden Globe ,but He have yo win tje Oscars ,no negotiate ,the oscars is for Him ,
The new Golden Globes voters seem more international lovers, so I'd love to see Sandra Hüller & Alma Pöysti win there!
Sandra Huller should win

How she win comedy when she series in film..if actross make drama role will be not comdian to win

I haven't seen Oppenheimer, but what I've seen of Cillian Murphy in trailers and clips is really impressive. He looks like the best actor of 2023.
How are you on a channel like this and haven’t seen Oppenheimer yet😂
@@jackvlahos407I haven't seen it either it's not streaming let. If the Barbie movie can't get me to go to a theater I don't think anything will.

Shut your mouth right now Margot Robbie can pull the upset
Carey Mulligan or Sandra Huller over Lily Gladstone.
EXACTLY!!!
So what happened with RICHARD E. GRANT in THE LESSON? Superb!!! Was it not released in the USA?
Cooper can win at the Globes, but let me remind you again that the Oscar to award actors that direct themselves. Look at Cooper losing to Malik, Affleck getting snubbed, it simply doesn’t happen it doesn’t matter how “overdue” the person is.
Oppenheimer wins drama if Barbie wins comedy 🤑
Where is Viola Davis nomination 😑
Robert Downey Jr drama❤
Ryan Gosling comedy
Lily Gladstone drama (Marlon Brando on Heaven happy)
I want Bradley to win actor drama😅

Happy new year Brian!
The Golden Globes will manage to not give it to Danielle and Da'vine. Thats how they do
I would love if Sandra Huller or Carey Mulligan won best actress in a drama.
The Globes seem to hate Mulligan which sucks.
I’m still pissed Mulligan lost practically everything for Promising Young Women so I would be happy if she took at least something home this season.
Love the videos, man. Keep it up!!!
Agree ! Oppenheimer …. Cillian Murphy for best actor❤
Aaron Taylor-Johnson scared the crap out of me in Nocturnal Animals
I personally did not care for Oppenheimer but Cillian killed it. He has my vote. Maestro is frankly offensive to Bernstein in my opinion. Would never vote for Cooper.
I could honestly see Jodie Foster winning another Golden Globe for best supporting actress in a drama. (I love her though so I wouldn't be mad if she won). All the nominees in that category though are astounding, so It's hard to predict who will win it!
Sandra Hüller would be amazing!
How are you able to make predictions if you haven't watched all the movies? What's the point?
Now days you can't win any prestigious awards without any help of a lot of pormotion😢

I question who approved the premature production of this piece when the critic failed to see all of the bodies of work in the categories. smh
Maybe so, but he got most of it right 👀
I want Hüller to win Drama and Robbie or Pöysti to win Comedy to keep things interesting. Would be a boring season if Gladstone or Stone sweep everything even though they're both great. And Hüller gave my favorite performance by anyone all year so I would be happy to see her get something (BAFTA is a real possibility too).
Melton for the win ❤
I would love Danielle brooks for supporting actress pls 😭😭 I'll let maestro director win for best actor
The Globes tend to go for the bigger star- Cooper will probably win over Murphy.
Please bradley win and the road for your very 1st oscar starts
I don't care."
So, yeah. I want Colman to win.
I agree maystro no story just romance..he love man and women..they dont tell peaple story of man
Maestro is absolutely boring; watching paint dry is more exciting.
Clearly, you know your stuff. Congratulations on getting most of it right 😜
JLaw got a nomination for No Hard Feelings? Wow the bar is set so low for certain demographics
When Aaron Taylor Johnson won it was deserved. He was unbelievable in that film. That movie is...a lot 😅
