Can’t believe I’m just finding this channel. its so difficult to find film people on youtube with actual interesting things to say. I’ve become a full time listener of this show in like a week, keep up the great work fellas! Our boys r wicked smaht!
AGREE that 2023 turned out to be a phenomenal year of cinema … by mid-summer I was thinking that the year had gotten very very few top quality movies, Oscar-worthy movies I guess, and then came the autumn avalanche , WOW!!!!! The whole year turned around!!! Now we’re well into awards season and every category is totally stacked !!!
I feel like the way you guys felt about Gran Turismo was the way I felt about Dungeons and Dragons Honor Among Thieves. As someone who doesn't play D&D and know absolutely no lore, I saw the trailer and expected a pointless, cringy movie, and what I got was one of the biggest surprises of the year. Amazingly entertaining, surprisingly well-acted, and overall just really great. Don't know how this happened in the first place, or how we let it flop.
Happy New Years to you guys!!! 2023 will go down as one of the greatest years for cinema for sure, and it’s been a pleasure to see some of the great films that came out over the year, in the cinemas no less! Here’s hoping for more great films in 2024!!
Your "worst" movies are actually the most disappointing movies of the year, ‘cause there are WAY worse movies out there than your list … you guys did really well if those are the worst ones you saw all year, bravo!!
Idk how hot of a take this is but o think last year was just little better then this year. More consistently great films plus some of my personal favorites of the year could also be counted as 2022 aka how to blow up a pipeline and skinima rink
Best film of the century??? Lol, then you haven't watched much. Oppenheimer is great but it's nowhere near one of the greatest of the century. It's probably not even in the top 100. Even Memento is way better.
Parasite, There Will be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Children of Men, Lord of the Rings, The Departed, Birdman, the social network and Oppenheimer are the best of the century so Far, off the top of my head.
This year film and shows has been the most disappointing for me in some time which is crazy because it wasn't that they weren't crafted with care and with some of my favorite creators in film but nothing stuck with me or stood out much. It was a whole bunch of meh or eww.. that said I still haven't seen Godzilla. Beau is afraid is the only one that really grabbed my interests for a good amount of the film and stuck with me a bit but still overall somewhat disappointing as a huge ari astor fan.. Oppenheimer was well done but I have no real interest in watching it ever again. Killers of the flower moon again was a heavy subject but really not enjoyable at all for me and was probably the biggest disappointment of 2023!!

Can’t be overstated how great your calm and genial style makes movie talk fun and interesting

Oppenheimer was insanely good ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thought I had an incoming Skype call incoming during this video.
THANK YOU!!!
What about Asteroid City??
Not quite 🥲
Love the show, but sooo many spoilers. Haven't seen every film yet.
2022 was better, but it's genuinely close. None of 2023 comes close to the best of 2022. But that's all my opinion of course.
I've been waiting so much for this episode.
🙌
Maestro was the most oscar baity film ive ever seen. Its soo boring
I think you are right. Oppenheimer is the best film of the century (so far).
From a technical perspective id agree. But Godzilla Minus One is my most enjoyable movie of the century thus far.

By the end of this century, it will probably still be The Return of the King.
Parasite, There Will be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Children of Men, Lord of the Rings, The Departed, Birdman, the social network and Oppenheimer are the best of the century so Far, off the top of my head.
its not even the best movie of the year. Killers of the Flower Moon is better and will age better than Oppenheimer
