Very good question. Considering RPG Maker WITH is very new and doesn't have that many DLC than RPG Maker MV on Switch, plus they won't likely discount a new software that soon... If I were you, I would wait for Christmas Sale and go with RPG Maker MV on Switch. This way you can be sure that you have enough customisation and it won't be crazily expensive. Then who knows, either they'll start doing sales on WITH by that time, or you'll decide to move your development to PC 😉
I know most of the rpg maker community only recommends buying these engines on pc since they're more customizable, but as someone that wants to take it more casually, i think this one is fine.
You're absolutely right 👍 PC versions are perfect for serious games development, but I feel all those features can make you miss out on that sense of fun and spontaneity to create whatever comes to your mind, like in console versions. And that's where the best ideas come from 💡
I just wish they’d still let me customize my own characters and sprites despite being the console version which usually limits this. So far, I haven’t found a way to do that in the demo, but I’m hoping they’ll include it in the launch.
I agree, they could technically do a simple character generator where you can pick hair style, color, armour and other things. That would be possible to implement on the console for sure. Thanks for subscribing 🙏✨💖
I know, right? I mean MV on playstation and switch have that, and I use rpg maker both on console and PC, the weird thing I see when I'm looking at WITH, is that they use assets from rpg maker MZ, and that's the latest PC entry, and MZ have just like MV, a character generator! Console versions of rpg maker is already limited enough, and an editor regardless of genre, we should be able to create our own characters for our own stories, right? If they don't add it in then It's a major turn off. If you want to use rpg maker on console then MV on playstation or switch is the way to go, hope it helps and happy rpg making! ^_^
The big turn off for me is the lack of character generator, we should at least be able to create our own characters, for our own stories. Having that option never hurts and there's really no argument as to why not include it. Rpg maker mv on console have that, and if you don't want to create your own characters, then there's a lot of pre made to choose from, it has the option to choose. I really do hope they add it in with a patch, how awesome wouldn't it be to be able to share our own characters with each other? That's just me, but overall it looks good, nice video and happy rpg making! 😸
True, but as I can see, you’re not alone in missing this feature. Perhaps if more users voice their need for it, maybe it'll get added to the software in the future. 🤔
@@Anya_and_Lolo Yeah, you're right. I really hope they do, because in an editor of sort, in this case rpg maker. We should be able to create our own characters, since we're creating a game/story. Let's hope they see reason so WITH can be as good and awesome as possible. ^_^
Yes, I mentioned the touchscreen in my video because I loved it. However, the controls for RPG Maker WITH on Switch are quite similar to RPG Maker MV and Fes. You don't need a touchscreen; you can easily use the Joy-Cons or a Pro Controller. 🎮
Very concise video. No fillers and straight to the point.
Also nice accent.
So sweet to hear!! ❣️ Thank you so much for your compliments 🙏
I have a question: since RPGM With for Switch doesnt have the level of customization of the RPGM MV, can you recommend it to a RPG Maker newbie?

Roger that. Thanks and cheers.

I'd want to have the ability to make all my main characters cats. If it can't do that, I'll hard pass this maker

Oh boy The Fine i will Create Chrono Trigger myself for this is gonna be Wild
Haha go for it 😉
Nice review! I like that you covered so many things in just 3 minutes lol
Haha yes, I had to talk really quick! 🤣
On sweeeeeetchhhhhhh i love your accent 😂
Oh my 🤣 Thank you... I guess? 🤔
only thing i would like is custom assets. even PS1 game let you make characters in anime maker, even though it took forever it was there.
With what?

100% true!
No way i would ever buy this as i use mv on pc. This is so limiting its nuts anyone would buy it 😂
Does this work on Yuzu?
@@JasonGodwin69 I haven't tried it maybe some other commenters will know?
A few questions.
How easy are the controls on switch. Can I use the ganepad?
Is it similar to rpg maker mv or fes?

Sooo no mods? Or plugins at all?
@@splaturials9156 Well it's a new software, so not at the moment. Tbh not sure if that's even possible on Switch.
