- THIS YARD WAS OUT OF CONTROL! I knocked on the door and she denied service till I told her it was FREE. Today is day 3 out of 7 OVERGROWN lawn makeovers in one week. If you didn't know I am POSTING a new OVERGROWN lawn makeover EVERYDAY for the next WEEK!! Hopefully I can pull it off. I remember when a homeless person help him , they could not go by a sidewalk . He ask if he could help Al and he showed up first thing in the morning. Worked side by side. He just wanted a job! Al is a good man, and showed him gratitude. Not all people that are Homeless,some really need jobs. ! He and his wife were willing to work. Great Video. ❤️🍀

Some people are so underserving of your kindness and hard work, especially when they give you attitude. On the other hand, the neighbors, who have had to look at this God forsaken mess, must truly appreciate your super human efforts in cleaning up the eyesore.

❤This yard was once loved by someone. The transformation was incredible. Whatever the reason these dwellers aren’t taking care of it, I’m praying this serves as a catalyst to keep it that way. Maybe they can get that yard sofa and yard toilet to the curb now. At least the neighbors appreciate it.

You definitely have inspired me and my husband. We have a couple elderly neighbors. Most people on our neighborhood hire landscapers but there are a few who do it themselves and we’ve already decided to offer to help them if they ever need it.
That’s wonderful but may I suggest you go back to them and say to them to name the day - that way they won’t feel so shy imo…❤
They'll never tell you they need help. You have to just do it. Older people rarely ask.
Love this. When I lived in a house in Brooklyn the younger guys would help the elderly with yard cleaning and shoveling snow during the winter and putting the garbage out in the evening for sanitation the next morning. Every house kept their sidewalks clean throughout the year. They were small houses but everyone helped each other. In the 50’s 60’s and 70’s when I moved in. I raised three children in that home in the 80’s and 90’s. I love watching people helping one another.

I know a lady neighbor who needed help last summer so I went and weeded, trimmed and cut. It’s a tiny townhouse yard but it was so rewarding. I can see why you do this but you are a blessing to those customers, your viewers and yourself! ❤ oh, and that lawnmower is awesome!

What gets me after these couple months, is that you ask no questions (You don't seem to judge why they've neglected their yard), as well as asking us viewers to try and contribute to benefit others.

I truly love watching your videos. It's very rare I comment, but I just had to say what a kind and generous person you are. For years my husband and i did our yard together. It was therapeutic. In 2011, I was diagnosed with MS. My husband and son took on the responsibility. My husband passed 2 years ago from cancer. This past summer, I called around to get estimates. Out of the 5 calls, only one showed up. it was out of my budget. I've done the best I could. Wish there was someone like you nearby. God bless you for helping out and being an inspiration to others. Keep doing what you do.

Great job Al. That yard was quite a mess. You are so kind to help people who are unable to do this work themselves. I am one of those people. I live in Australia and a pensioner with physical and mental health issues and have great difficulty finding someone to do yard work for me for which I am prepared to pay. The problem seems to be finding someone who will show up and do the work. I hope the people you helped in this video appreciated the gift you gave them. The shadow of the camera is ok😊 And I ❤ seeing the shadow of the fence emerge❤ I understand having hard times. I deal with anxiety, depression (not severe). I'm also 70, and on SS only. But surely some of these people let things get unnecessarily out of control. I wish they at least showed more appreciation . Thank you for treating everyone equally and without judgement regardless.

What I don't get is what's the rest of our problems. Watching these shows these people the amazing they do and what do we do with what we learned watching? Do we reach out to others to our neighbors do we help when we see needs. Do we hold a door open do we help when we see a need or walk on by. I hope if we get anything out of this is just be nice u see a need and can do something about go for it. Besides being too lazy to do their own yard work, they didn't seem appreciative and almost inconvenienced by the offer. Drugs will do that to people. It's probably why they left the house while Al worked on their yard. Probably cursing him for his kindness. I know I'm making judgements I shouldn't, but I was surprised of their lack of appreciation. To have that much yard work done could get pretty pricey. I'm guessing $500 or more. Al's a saint.

Al, I wish you were in SC. I would gladly pay you to take care of my yard. I have always loved working in my yard and keeping it neat. That being said, it gets harder and harder each year. I am 72 years old, still mow my own grass, do my own edging, put out pine needles and trim hedges. I have 3/4 of an acre to do I am just getting slower and slower lol

Yes, you'd think it's the very least they would do. I'd be cringing with embarrassment but their trashiness is plain too see.
I can understand if they can’t do anything with the tall grass... but... the trash, leaves and dead branches? You don’t need to hire someone else to clean that up, especially the trash. I suffered from slip disc after a freak accident... i still clean up my house, my yard the way i can. Like clean up the trash or rake the leaves. Yes, at time it still hurt my back but i can’t expect someone else to do everything for me. I can’t be so selfish towards my neighbour too. They have kids, they have pets and yard like this attract dangerous animals especially snakes.

I’m disabled and I do mange to keep my front yard in fair condition but my back is a disaster no family to help so i understand some peoples not being able to keep their yard up but sure wish I k ew someone as kind as this guy !

The fact they just stand there and watch you do it, rather than helping you while you’re doing them a huge favour, says a lot about why their yard looked like that in the first place. The phrase “Help those who help themselves” comes to mind.
Exactly my thoughts. I think the worst part about it is that you know for a fact that all you have to do is come back a couple months later and it will look exactly like it was before. These people have no pride.
Again, not our house, we were house sitting. You all come online to vent and judge without no knowledge of what's going on. It's enlightening for understanding ignorance in today's society.

@NayNay Faxon we are each responsible for ourselves. Most of us were born into middle class and lower class families. Unless you are mentally deficient --- you should realize the realities of life. Then set goals. Why should those who do this have to take care of others or pay taxes for their care? Charity is an individual decision.

All I know is that it’s so therapeutic just watching this, so satisfying and I think that’s one of the reasons why Al does it too, he loves to work and make things look beautiful, doesn’t matter who it’s for or who watches, and it doesn’t hurt that he has almost a million subscribers and he deserves it.

He's a good guy but to be completely fair, it's not really unpaid work. He gets paid more from RUclips ads than he would have if he'd been paid by the homeowner. So he's still making a living. (As he should; not begrudging him that a bit, and he's still making those folks really happy.)
