Now this is what we need more of as reviewers. Companies that aren't afraid of feedback and know how to build upon it. Didn't like the first outing but this is right up my alley. It's fresh and funky yet tasteful. Also, edging closer to 100k mate. Congratulations.
Damn, they really nailed the aesthetics. That's a "homage" true to the actual meaning of the word, not a mindless copy. I'm sure it took as much effort as a totally original design would take. Well done!
Great looking watch and awesome that they listened. The best companies are those that listen to constructive criticism and feedback and use it to improve instead of getting butt hurt about it. Not every release is going to be a home run, but it seems like they’ve made an interesting offering here. Keep up the great work Ben.
I wished Seiko would listen to their customers. So they would better their quality controll. And put more sapphire crystals in their watches instead of their hardlex.
It's refreshing to see a microbrand selling watches at this price point where the makers appear to have spent more money on the product itself instead of the marketing. I don't remember the last time I saw another microbrand take this approach. Whilst I'm not in the market for a chronograph at the moment, the Nezumi Tonnerre would be at the top of my list if I were, mainly to thank them for not jumping down the rabbit hole of wank that is the typical fashion-centric microbrand. The fact that it's a real homage (and a very tasteful one at that) is a bonus.
It's here! A Chrono for slim wrists... I shed tears of joy seeing the dimensions. Now I hope I get enough poket money on Christmas to afford this watch. About reviews though. I even think, sometimes a reviewers negative criticism can be taken by someone as a positive point. Best example are reviewers with mid-sized wrist saying the watch looks to small. Hell that is a pro for a slim wrist like mine.
Ben you are the most honest reviewer on RUclips I've bought most of my watches with what I've seen on your channel and it helped me alot, my wife is telling me that I'm very finicky about what I want from a watch and I think you've contributed to that but I'm not complaining just grateful for making me understand what to look for and what would suit my lifestyle, now this chronograph is exactly what I'm looking for seeing that I am in the market for one, keep up the great work and reviews🤙👌⌚🙏👏😊
You do as you seems fit man. Your critical comments helps watch companies improve their products which ultimately helps improve quality in the watch world. I am confident you'll make it to 100k subs
Those companies that you say "don't use brains" earn much more than this kind of watch maker. This is why they do what they do. People who call very successful businessmen "dumb" are not very bright themselves. Watch quality is a different conversation
@@sergheirench7666Yeah plenty onlyfans models also earn way more than average, doesn't make them smart. What's the point of conflating intelligence with income?
David is an artist. i mean, a real one. he is very exigeant with himself and with the people he work with for even the smallest detail.. one of my close relative is his exclusive photographer since one year and he constantly says that he learn a lot working with him, because of his exigeance. so i'm not surprise he listened what you said. i'm a big fan of his job and he is improving everytime.
Thank you for reviewing this, as few reviews have come out since this watch was released. I own the black reverse panda and can confirm the dimensions fit the smaller-wristed of us perfectly. It’s a great vintage inspired design that has a feeling of authenticity rather than imitation. My only criticism is the legibility of the minute/hour hands. They’re flat and high polished, and don’t stand out from the dial unless angled to reflect a light source. This introduces reflections to the crystal as well right when you’re trying to read it. It would’ve benefited from brushed hands which pick up light from all angles. Not a dealbreaker for me, but worth mentioning. Overall a stunning watch packed with excellent design and well-balanced proportions. One of my favorites from Nezumi.
Tbh, the reason why I watch you is because you have consumers in mind when you review watches. In the era of over sensationalisation, it's important to not fall for the hype and listen to second opinion. So ignore the haters and keep being you because in the long run, your honesty will keep people watching you.
I hadn't worn a watch in years and recently had to buy one for my new job. I wanted a "real" old school analog watch and not a smartwatch. There's no way I'm ever going to spend thousands of dollars on a watch, and I appreciate your channel so much. I have discovered classy, dependable and affordable (yay!) options. Now I'm a watch enthusiast and enjoy your reviews. Thanks so much and keep up the good work!
Very nice improvements to the Nezumi. Well, I bit the bullet and just received my Seagull 1963. It looks even better in the flesh. Looking forward to your review. Keep up the good work Ben
Now that is a chrono I'd consider buying! Not just because of its gorgeous design and colour scheme, but also, like you mentioned, because of its compact dimensions. I've sold off all of the meca-quartz-powered chronos that were in my collection, and wouldn't mind something as a grab-and-go that's as pretty as (or possibly even prettier than) my various mechanical chronographs. Thanks for reading their email more closely, and familiarizing me with this lovely timepiece and interesting new brand. All the best
“Opération Tonnerre” is how the fourth Bond film “Thunderball” is known in the French-speaking world. Great name, great review and a striking watch too.
Nice dial and neat. But I have a problem on the hands that's the same hue as the dial. I hope they have a darker colour of the hands for contrast and easier to glance the time. Thanks
I considered their first offering too thick similar to a spinnaker. The all polished finish put me off as well… I’m ordering this one! Kudos to a brand that’s paying attention! Thanks for the informative review Ben!
I’ve been lurking back & forth for the older Nezumi model being sold here by a local lad for $250. Given it’s a good price, think I’ll opt for this newer model after seeing this review. Thanks Ben
Love your honest, and fantastic reviews. Not only informative but light and humours, much appreciated insight. I am going to grab a Nesumi watch shortly. I was wondering if you heard much about Miansia watches? Are they crap? Just marketing. Good luck and cant wait for more videos.
I was wondering about that brand name..... The website states: "The name Nezumi came from a book David read as a child about a Japanese ”Robin Hood” called Nezumi Kozo whom stole from the rich samurai and gave to the poor. We at Nezumi Studios support numerous charities, hence the name." 鼠 means mouse or rat. Names can be tricky though, so I checked and wiki states: Nezumi Kozō (鼠小僧) roughly means "Rat Kid".
For a small sized meca-quartz chrono I’d recommend to check out the Boldr field medic II. Got one a few months ago in titanium with blue nylon nato and it’s a great buy for the money
If people likes this one I'm glad, since it maybe slightly makes it up for another very well known brand from our country that's universally hated in the watch community (for good reasons). You know which one. Seriously though, this model series seems really good. Have had my eyes on Nezumi before, but wasn't convinced. This feels like a good improvement. Great review as usual, Ben. Always appreciate your consumer service approach.
Great to hear. Ive decided to stop buying more watches but will start supporting Nezumi on social media. This is the model to follow, not the lies of fashion brands
This review attracted a fair number of comments about quartz vs mechanical. I admit I really looked forward to getting my automatic, but what got me interested in watches was how they advanced with technology and how features on the watches came about due to advances in other technologies. I look at my radio controlled eco drives in the same way.
The other reason to crit watches hard? When Ben gives a full thumbs-up we know it's a good watch. Only 900 subs away from the magic 100k, slimwrister :-) Congrats in advance and Merry Christmas.
Damn, that watch looks significantly better than the previous model. I'm still not a fan of non resuable packaging, but their packaging does look fantastic. No idea how much it is though.
Hi Ben, always appreciate your content :) I’m looking into buying myself a new watch which is relatively inexpensive and am looking at the Maurice Lacroix Eliros range- I haven’t heard you talk much about this brand, so am wondering if you had any thoughts? Thank you!
I already have a vintage inspired mecha-quartz chrono (Dan Henry 1962) but I just might pick one of these up. I'm really liking the blue/turquoise on the subdials and chrono hand.
Great review Ben (as always). But what were they thinking with the coloursceme of the 24 hour dial? Turn the sceme 90 degrees so that there is a day and night indication...Mecaquartz is great. I love my Yema Rallygraph (about same price of less...). Do you have a link for the Sailcloth straps🤔
I must agree that it's an improvement although with all the ST19 variants out there a mecha quartz is not always calculated to appeal tothe vintage/homagy crowd?

Nezumi does a very good job. I own a Voiture chronograph by them (which I personally prefer over the Tonnerre) and I love that watch. Great vintage design without feeling like a cheap rip-off of more known pieces and a size that is very much wearable for us smaller-wristed fellas...
Interesting brand with very nice designs. I hope they will consider making some more automatic models as well. I'm not too keen on a meca-quartz movement.
Excellent and finely produced review of a very viable chrono there Ben, always did like the look of Nezumi's watches. Look out your window for Pete’s sake. Rant over ✌🏻 And PS, yes, I am a certificated Pilot…..or just certifiable :-)

Not sure if you've heard of em but could you possibly get your hands on some Titan Watches? They are an Indian brand and they remind me of old school budget brands.
Is it really 12mm thick? Looks thicker in the shots. You say the weight is good; it doesn't want to slide forward like so many thick watches do? Dial looks nice.
Very nice watch, they did a great job, the price is about right. The 38mm size and 45mm lug to lug is too small for my 8" wrist, I prefer bigger. When I saw Nezumi, I was thinking Valuchi, Loreti....... Lol! I was wrong, this is very nice and a perfect size for the average wrist. A winner for sure!
See? This is exactly the thing that makes a company 10x more attractive. Simply the fact that they listened to the criticism made me a potential future customer. (Will definitely consider them when i can afford one!)
