is it possible that studio speakers are really really important for mixing decisions? I used to work with a set of yamaha hs5. (around 300€) and i kinda sucked. Today i finished building two speakers from a kit i got in school. Its an Audio Engineering school and i was able to mix some nice live concert stuff a year ago but in the studio term i didnt get anywhere. Everything i made was not sounding good on other systems and i did not really get what 80% of my plugins did and i was not able to use them in a way that sounded good in the long term at all. So i did quit making music mixing and all that good stuff. Today might be important for me because i have a very high quality audio speaker system from now on. That can mean that i am probably not longer ashamend to show my music to friends and people i like. The high quality speakers make it possible to hear what i am doing while i am mixing. I make decisions i usually would not make and i now how to use and counter stuff in (for me) weird but efficient ways. I can now see the difference between this is useful and this ist not. So while i am really new to this (2 h in) it could give me trust in my production decisions witch could lead into some production skills some day. I am slightly drunk (maybe obvious considering what i write at the moment also considering i am german and not used to english) but it is possible that high quality speakers are really gamechanging in terms of audio engineering? I have seen people working with poor systems producing great music so in my case there can be a lack of knowledge/ talent/ dedication/ skill but working with a high quality speaker seems to improve the finisehd product of music i make a lot. I did not read or hear about a statement like that (really good speakers = easier work) so i would like to hear what you guys went trough. What did you learn and where did you go with your engineering. Is my good speakers =easy work statement bullshit or not?
a big part of mixing is about KNOWING your speakers. Owning a quality monitor speaker that reproduces frequencies more accurately helps, although if you know your speakers well, even the worst pair can get you good results!
I am looking forward to getting to know my stuff:) High quality music productions with "low quality equipment" are a thing. Reference Tracks are probably huge here since music transitioning to other systems is the biggest dealbreaker i found so far. My good speakers = easier work question kinda is a dick move (I definetly kinda feel kinda bad going with a statement like that and again high quality speakers are no guarantee for high quality productions i do know that) but the transitioning works a lot better even without utilizing the reference system to its full potential. I guess i am happy to have something new to explore (it took a long time to get there to.. :P). And i am happy for tutorials on youtube like you are doing them. So thanks a lot :) And have a great time :)

Do a free mixing vocal chain plus wave realtime preset
It's a really nice video my friend. I think you are doing a good jobb for new producers. I want to buy your vocal chain. But bro..bundles are really expencive and there are several plugins in those bundles that probably are not used on your vocal chain and derfor would be just not necesary to buy them. For exemple "instruments plugins" . Me my selv have a lot of Waves' plugins but not all included on those bundles. It would be better if you make a list of just all the plugins that are used in your vocal chain and if someone is lacking a plugin..well its just a matter å buying ONE plugin and not the holle bundle. Dont know if someone else thinks like me or has the same problem, but anyway thats the only thing holding me up from buying your vocal chain.
hey Roberto, the presets use almost every plugin (if not every plugin) other than instruments in the required bundles.
Yo Sean, first of all, huge fan, second, will you do a video over your mic setup for live recording, like when I record straight through logic it has a huge delay, if I record through my interface, I have to like turn it all the way down to where I can barely hear myself so the mic won’t peak
hey King, for this video it's the Rode NT1 going through the RME UFX via USB2. I'm not even using a thunderbolt connection. As far as any latency, the interface shouldn't cause an issue if you're setting it up like we did here. If you're not using optimized plugins and chains, that can cause a lot of delay.

Does it contains(Vocal Chains V3 pack ) the bus channel rack (On the bus 1) + the L3 Ultra preset ?? Can i also get the .xps files only for each effect ?.. i don't want use Studio Rack ,i'm using ableton live
hey Kian, yes what's on the bus is one of the presets (one of the included channel strip settings for Logic Pro X). The presets require Waves Platinum which has L3 - I just set the ceiling to -0.1 to keep the video from clipping 👍

Did you have your aphex channel turned on while doing that demo freestyle at the end of the video? or is the studio rack set up in the video doing the job done without hardware gear? the vocal quality is just insane!! i need that!
thanks Sam. Yes, I did use the aphex channel, only the preamp. The rest of the processing was done with the presets :)

Sean Waves Gold doesn't have Studio Rack. I have V11 and neither does it. I gad it but I uninstalled it. Along wirh V10 I think. Anyhow, Im just being Lazy Im sure I can get it with a bit of research. U also heard my V11 plugins do not work w studio rack. Any feedback would help. btw youre dope bro. haha I been producing forever. Worked w a lot of known Cats. fasho man-- kit!

All my recordings have a very lopsided wave shape. Polarized to the negative side. It doesn’t look healthy and it sounds flat. I tried to use waves In Phase plugin to sound better. But how do I correct it in the recording stage?
you might try flipping the phase (phase invert switch on many preamps)
I dont get it. Where do you put The autotune ? On The tracking? Or on a send so the eq hp filter and the compressor workes before autotune? Or do you put it on Like a lead vocal send, addlib send, background vocal send ?
it should be the first plugin directly on the vocal track (not an aux)

Yes, if you're using Logic Pro X or Cubase Pro. In that case, there are presets that do not require Studio Rack that load the plugins and all settings in your mixer. For all other DAWs, you need Studio Rack and the plugins and settings are accessible within the Studio Rack plugin.
On cubase how do i find low letancy mode?
I meanly use Reaper for tracking and mixing, I bought Mac mini and therefore I want to use logic
but something I don't understand, when tracking with fxs do they permanently effect the signal or it is just for inspirational propose?
In Reaper I track with autotune on and the effect is there permanently
Tracking with software monitoring in Logic is non-destructive, meaning if you turn off the plugins, the audio will be unaffected.

When I mix my song and I put Auto-Tune or other Pitch- Correction plugins on my vocals,my voice sound perfect...when I listen to it on headphones or Studio Monitor Speakers...but when I listen to it on my phone,my vocals are more pitchy and doesn't sound as good ( flat notes etc.).What should I do?
Sounds like you need to configure some EQ settings. try mix the song in mono mode maybe that could help you fix the problem

When routing all these effects through busses, it doesn't give me the option to mix in the wet/dry through the Logic channel strip, so are we just mixing it using the wet/dry knob within all the plug-in themself?
