This man changed my life in 1992. He was in Cagliari and gave us a tremendous three day masterclass. I was starting with the electric bass at that time. He suggested me to start singing in a choir. Now after all this time I am really grateful. And finally thanks to is inspiration I start playing double bass and I am so happy and alive.
One of the all time masters. An incredible musician on the highest level who's always on top of the game. Let's honor this really important man. Dave and JML ... How about a duet of those two?
What a incredible and a really genuine nice guy Dave Holland, he is right!! Bass players are easy going and really nice guys, well I am. Enjoy listening him speak, maybe Geoff can bring him back and talk about maintenance and storage of your bass, and what to do and not what to do while traveling with your bass on gigs a cross the city, country and international.
What an outstanding interview. Great questions, and Dave is so knowledgable and wise about his approach to music. This is both incredibly inspiring and so comforting at the same time. I can relate with so much of what Dave mentions. Brilliant!
Ahh, I've just realised that I've been misspelling 'Scofield'. I'm guessing that it was listed incorrectly in the subtitles or text. Apologies for that.
7:03 … lovely Ray Brown “energy” anecdote
13:17 … Bach’s cello suites
18:35 … learning from great soloists like Bird
21:06 … learning from Art Tatum
I practice outdoors as much as possible for the exact same reason: pure sound, no reflections
Thank you for sharing this excellent interview
Glad you enjoyed it! :-)

That’s a wonderful story!
One of my all-time favorite bassists. If you haven't already done so, check out Dave's solo rendition of Coltrane's Mr. PC... pure fire!
Great recommendation, it's so good! ruclips.net/video/HHu6rzmUvFI/видео.html

John WHO??!
Not sure what your question refers to, but you might be asking about the guitarist Dave Holland was appearing with who is John Schofield.
