After the teleportation at the beginning you can see the snowy mountains in the background. My guess was the wizard simply moved them from those mountains in the distance to the lower ground away from them.
One of the things I love about this show is the design of the characters. Not just the different races, which is awesome in itself, but the male and female characters in general. All of them have the distinct differences in size, shape, and personality. The men aren’t just muscular and generically handsome, and the women aren’t just petite and pretty. The men vary from big and muscular like vander, heavyset like Benzo and clagger, lean like Silco and Victor, or average build like Jayce. The women are beautiful and designed in a way that makes sense for their position in society, Mel is elegant and slim, which suits her standing as a council member, Grayson is built, which is perfect for her position as a leader of a military/police force. Sevika is similar, no doubt a byproduct of having to fight for everything she’s got in the undercity. And Vi, she’s got an athletic build, and considering her age and her fighting style, it suits her. This show isn’t afraid to give women gray hair, and muscle tone, or men slim frames and softer faces, and I love it.
Fun fact: In the original Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Dr Jekyll invents a potion that alters his physical appearance. It doesn't actually do anything to him mentally. However he invents the identity Mr Hyde so he can indulge his base desires without social reproductions. The story is actually told through a third party and we don't know Jekyll and Hyde are the same person until the end. Of course these days it would be next to impossible to do a faithful adaptation to the original story as everyone knows the twist, so instead they do the split personality route.
I love how Jason Spisak as Silco manages to sound calm, bitter, vengeful, cruel, paternal, dignified, polite, kind, ruthless ,righteous and comforting all at the same time and none of those feelings or moods feels out of character for him. Of course, it helps he was created for the series to explain how certain other characters from The Games end up the way they end up.
One of the big fears about magic is due to an old conflict called the "Rune Wars." There are a few objects called the world runes, and they are basically the infinity stones of that world, just limited to the planet instead of the universe. In the Rune Wars, civilizations started using the rune wars against one another. The results...... it was basically the magical equivalent of nuclear world war 3. Virtually every civilization got wiped out. Almost all of the current civilizations of the world are founded by the survivors of the war, and they are naturally quite wary of the power of magic, fearing a second rune war. If you want to check out the world runes, I would suggest watching the League Cinematic called "Call of Power"
Lol But I have seen other reactors think the same thing. Shit was crazy AF the way they made Recall look like. Looked like The Watcher shit from What If
Heimerdinger is a Yordle, so sort of gnomish/goblin-ish fey related whimisical creature. Male yordles ar the furry cuties, while females are usually blue (though purple one and now blue grey one exists too) and aren't as furry (I thought for 11 years females have just skin, but in one animation one of them is seen with more of a soft, fur that isn't as fuzzy). There are also other similar species (for example Yordle related axolotl/frog/fish/person, or survivng, prehistoric pre-Yordle with "hulk mode"). I don't know deep fried lore and dates well, but Heimerdinger said he is 307 years old. He also mentions conflict he remembers that showed how terrifying magic can be (not only Piltover dislikes magic, but sort of totalitarian "knights in shining armor" state of Demacia forbids magic and I think prosecutes the mages). The conflict Heimer mentions might be Rune Wars which are an anchor moment in League lore (both this one and old proto lore). They apparently happened around 900 - 1000 years earlier. How he remembers them then? Well, he is a yordle. Yordles are so whimsical, dream magical creatures, that place where they live - Bandle City - is oneiric, intoxicating fable land (maybe like Alice's Wonderland) out of space, where time flows differently. He lived there before moving to the Piltover. He may actually remember Rune Wars while being "only" 307 years old.
Piltover and Zaun are kind of the technology capital of Runeterra, the setting of the League of Legends universe. Piltover being the surface/upper level where all the rich and privileged live and Zaun being the undercity built into the cliffs beneath the decadence. It has a great deal more technological advancement than the rest of Valoran and Shurima, the two continents that Piltover connects by literally bridging the gap over the ocean that separates the two. Zaun isn't really 'south' so much as literally down. Magic exists normally in Runeterra but it's existence is kind of a terror to a lot of people as there's been a large number of calamities and such commit by various magical armies and singular powerful mages that a lot of societies in the world fear magic. Demacia, one of the other nations and is largely painted as the 'good guy' city is really quite a fascist anti-mage city where they actively police magical presence and if they find out someone has magical power they're basically screwed. Not all places are as strict on magic, but at the same time, a lot of places have entirely different cultures as well. Heimerdinger is a Yordle, a race of what could essentially be considered an analogue of a fey race similar to gnomes. They're a very sprightly race with an unusual sexual dimorphism where the males are generally some manner of shaggy/fuzzy animal-looking being and females are blue-skinned with pointed ears. Their homeland, Bandle City, is more like an approximation of the First World rather than a physical location, since it's said to be 'everywhere and nowhere' to kind of convey the idea without being explicit, they have hidden pathways to their land all over the world and come and go as they wish.
People are speculating that the mage was Ryze, but his skin tone was too light, so he might be another mage of the same order as Ryze. The blue stones are Hex Crystals, which create thousands of generations of memories of sentient scorpion-like creatures.
If you really want to try League, i suggest doing so with a group of 5. That said, i would love to see you guys play together, if anything just to see you react to how some of the characters from the show are played in game

Fun fact Heimerdinger's full name is Cecil B. Heimerdinger, named after Cecil B. DeMille Also, "Ganking" doesn't mean steal. It's bascially being attacked in a lane by more than 1 enemy causing an unfair fighting situation as to better enhance the possibility of getting a kill. And since the jungler roams a lot, they gank the most.

4:12 Me and my friends have been saying this for YEARS about our favorite video games with amazing and diverse characters that have myriad of lore. Destiny, Overwatch, LOL, the possibilities are endless with the amount of story telling and character development that could be told
The game is like a sport, so like all sports people get heavily invested which breeds toxiciy. It doesn't matter if it's football hooligans, CSGO flamers, or Fifa ragers. It's always there, but in league it hasn't really been able to exist for years now, the game is really strict on what you can and cannot say. While it accepts the competitive tradition of shit talking, any actual profanity filled insult will get you instantly banned. So it really doesn't deserve it's toxic reputation, at least not compared to other competitive games or regular sports.
Hard disagree on the toxicity part. MOBAs are a curious breed of esports, honestly. It's like an FPS mixed with chess. I think that's why it makes us all especially toxic, it's got the split-second decision making of an FPS and the strategy of chess lmao. It should be noted that DotA and Smite (the other two big MOBAs) also have hyper toxicity communities. Hence why I hypothesize it's a genre thing.
10:30 there is a character in league named Xerath (note: this isn’t spoilers per say unless riot plans to do a series on the old desert kingdom of Shurima but no info on a show of that so just free saying this) which became obsessed with the arcane and became a literal entity of it. They had to contain him in an iron prison that was basically his sarcophagus but many years later he breaks free and fragments of his prison become his body pretty much since he is basically pure arcane magic now.
League IS a straight up multiplayer game, so no it has nothing really to do with the TV show except having an overlaping cast of characters. I wouldn't recommend playing because League is a huge time sink. It takes a lot of time and effort to get good enough to truly compete and when you are at that level it is highly addictive. Also, it is a team game that can be completely derailed by one person on your team, which can make it really rage inducing, giving the game the reputation of having a toxic community. That being said, it can be a lot of fun, obviously. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be so big. PS: You really don't need to know League to enjoy the show. It boils down to seeing a character you like on the screen and seeing them do cool shit. League players don't know anything about the plot either, except vaguely how some characters end up.
i think thats why they didnt bother swimming for the bag on the first ep seeing that we were introduced with water monsters. aint no one swimming for that 😂
I myself started watching this show for the very first time, and I've never ever seen or touched league of legends. Let me just tell you, The community is amazingly supportive and the show is just a masterpiece 🙌
fyi: that world/planet is called runeterra not earth. 2nd prof. Heimerdinger is a yordle (a mage race from bandle city who is hidden to none yordle beings. thats why he knows so much about magic) hope it helps even a little 😊 oh and powder (jinx) is not a support, she's an ad carry/marksman.
4:20 The Assassins Creed cinematics along with the Star Wars the old republic cinematics are the only ones that I would put on the same level as the LoL cinematics. I would love a series of all of them... and you should react to them!
Thanks for watching the show! Here are a couple of key points for those like you that haven't played League of Legends ever: - It is a Moba game with different roles available. - Vi is mostly a fighter / bruiser type of girl in the game, while Jinx (Powder when she was a child) is a carry type of character who deals tons of explosive damage. - As you can see, Piltover is the city of the rich / elite while Zaun is the underground city just below Piltover. - Both Piltover and Zaun are home to a bunch of mad scientists and explorers, both in the show and in the game lore. - Ekko is not really a scientist but he still experiments with stuff, hence the technological devices he owns. - Jayce and Caitlyn are pretty self-explanatory; Caitlyn uses a big ass weapon even though it's still not shown in the series yet. - Heimerdinger is a member of the elite scientist class (obviously). - Viktor is also a kind of scientist but with different motivations compared to Heimerdinger.
The whole end of the video of you all talking about league was just adorable as all. So far off but somehow coming back around to near the mark hahaha.
well, from this I now know that people are very confused about the setting. Ganking a lane also isn't english and you can't interpret what it means. You don't want the enemy jungler to gank your lane, but you want your jungler to gank your lane, but then leave and not tax your lane by stealing minions and xp. Idk if that even makes sense.
The song you guys liked is actually created by by riot (the game company) for arcane. I thought that it was 100% an old 70s song that they just used when i heard it first
Modern handcuffs are already hinged. The old chain handcuffs have been phasing out for decades. The reason being chained handcuffs are weaker, and people strong enough can break the chain.
I loved the detail of the inventor's mom nearly dying from frost bite... and you can see the color leaving her fingers starting with the tips of her index and middle finger. Then later when she speaks during the court hearing she is wearing 2 metal finger sleeves to hide that those fingers are likely dead due to the frostbite that almost took her life.
@@arthurwitiuk2727 I first thought it was odd the mom fainted... then it focused on her hand being uncovered. Frostbite sets in through your toes and fingers quickest because they get the least amount of blood. So they did a great job sticking to reality with that. Then later when we see her I thought the finger "jewelry" was odd since it contrasted with her overall look. Then i remembered the frostbite. There is a lot of really good detail. Everyone involved must have truly put their heart into this and it shows.
Heimerdinger is a species called yordles which is from a complete other dimension than the rest of the Runeterra (the world of league of legends). the yordle dimension is a small cartoonish village full of small elves and furry creatures. yordles know at least one magic spell and that is the ability to teleport in and out of the yourdle dimension. some yordles choose to stay outside their original dimension for various reasons.
Probably been said before - there is 0 mocap in any of this. Mocap and performance capture are shortcuts to simplify what is an incredibly artistic process. They're cost saving tools, not solutions in and of itself. Ask anyone in then vfx industry, they will tell you, a ton of work goes into fixing mocap stuff. Good hand-keyed animation will always look better, move better, and actually evoke beauty. Arcane and the Spiderverse movies showcase this amazingly.

@@andyseinfeld1954 I actually fairly agree, I don’t run into that much toxicity nowadays, but I’ve been playing for so long that I have no idea what the new player experience is like, haha. I’ve heard good and bad things from friends who have tried to play the game.
There is a solution to the toxicity: Disable chat.
That's what Grayson was reminding me, you're 100% right, Toph Beifong's daughter Lin!
After the teleportation at the beginning you can see the snowy mountains in the background. My guess was the wizard simply moved them from those mountains in the distance to the lower ground away from them.
holy shit a double upload. you've made me a perfect consumer, give me more
Heimerdinger's name comes from the names of two real-world physicists: J. Robert Oppenheimer and Erwin Schrodinger.
Their discussion about Viktor is pretty interesting considering what he becomes.
No spoilers
holy shit, you don't know how happy i am that you uploaded these. I for sure thought they are coming tomorrow. Thanks.
Great show, and it was all key-framed by hand, no mocap.
Can’t wait for ep 3 reactions
It's up now!
I'm so happy to see Jayce in this show. Jayce has been my main champion for 6 years.
Basic recall from the game, the normies:"is that god?" xD
Lol But I have seen other reactors think the same thing. Shit was crazy AF the way they made Recall look like. Looked like The Watcher shit from What If
More like Ryze's ult since it involved magic runes
@@NukePower217 early league had something similar with blue circles
Looks like realm warp, not recall. Recall doesn't teleport others eith you
@@NukePower217 I thought it was Zilean since he turned back time and revived his mom?
"The Arcane is magic now we know"
Truly the name Normies couldn't have been selected more aptly if they tried lol. Water is also wet btw
This series is so good! Thanks for reacting
2 episodes at once! Thanks so much, I was waiting for your reactions since watching it myself. :D
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@Thenormies How could I not love the masterfully inflicted trauma? Haha, I loved it.
The fact that they never realised is jayce voice artist is detective Douche 😭😭❤️
If you really want to try League, i suggest doing so with a group of 5. The game itself is quite fun, the biggest problem is the toxicity of the player base, but as long as you play with friends or mute the game chat (which is always a valid option) you won't have teenagers telling you to unalive yourself. That said, i would love to see you guys play together, if anything just to see you react to how some of the characters from the show are played in game
ARAMs has much less toxicity. It's very chill, especially later in the night on weekends. I play ARAMs almost exclusively
@@AndrewTheKingOfPenguins yes, aram is the perfect game mode for when you feel like playing league but dont want to deal with all the SR bs (also a good mode for the normies to play)
"The jewels are inert" legend tier reference
Fun fact Heimerdinger's full name is Cecil B. Heimerdinger, named after Cecil B. DeMille
Also, "Ganking" doesn't mean steal. It's bascially being attacked in a lane by more than 1 enemy causing an unfair fighting situation as to better enhance the possibility of getting a kill. And since the jungler roams a lot, they gank the most.
This is when the show started getting interesting for me. It only gets better from here
To answer your question about the wizard's spell. He indeed teleported Jayce and his mom from the Frozen North (Freljord) to a spot nearby Piltover.
Jayce voice actor is Kevin alejandro, Dan from Lucifer.
What 😍
Wait really? Wow that's pretty cool
You know you're a nerd when you see an obvious teleportation scene and speculate on how many planets and universes there might be XD. They just travelled from the top of the mountain to the plains at it's feets (You see the mountain in the background).
The first 30 seconds of that song " Our Love" I could listen to on repeat forever...Not a knock on the rest of the song by any means, I'm just obsessed with the instrumentals/beat/melody
The Lore and world-building and in-depth characters are the best parts of lol. In my opinion.
rather than playing league (the community is REALLY toxic, the game takes YEARS to learn, really just dont do it.), id recommend either playing tft (riots autobattler) or LOR (leagues cardgame, and its actually REALLY good, a lot of people said (and still say) its the hearthstone-killer.)
Or just play league lmao, there is a mute button for sensitive people
@@mkbthekid2041 yeah exactly
@@mkbthekid2041 The most sensitive people playing the game are the ones yelling into the mic
@@chrishaven1489 there is no mic in lol. It’s a chat box.
@@mkbthekid2041 I always find it funny that people try to claim that folks that don’t want to deal with toxicity are sensitive. When really people that are so quick to get emotional over games and take lash out at people for minor mistakes are obviously the sensitive ones.
If you are too emotionally sensitive to play a game with out getting emotional and toxic find another hobby
Fun fact the guy who voices Jayce is the guy who played Dan in Lucifer
Detective douche*
I knew his voice sounded familiar.
In game powder(jinx) is a marksman AD carry and her big sister VI is jungle type champion ( AD fighter )
Professor hiemer is a Mid type champ ( Mage ) he use hextech weapon ( technology + magic combination )
Jayce is top laner champ ( fighter + marksman type ) he use hextech weapon too
4:12 Me and my friends have been saying this for YEARS about our favorite video games with amazing and diverse characters that have myriad of lore.
I really wish they’d take the time to fully appreciate the intro more😅😂
10:30 there is a character in league named Xerath (note: this isn’t spoilers per say unless riot plans to do a series on the old desert kingdom of Shurima but no info on a show of that so just free saying this) which became obsessed with the arcane and became a literal entity of it.
"To the execution block!" had me DEAD! 🤣🤣🤣
i think thats why they didnt bother swimming for the bag on the first ep seeing that we were introduced with water monsters. aint no one swimming for that 😂
Lol surajs heimerdinger impersonation was pretty gd 9:54
You think Viktor will use magic for his own personal ambitions?
.

.
Me, a League player: GLORIOUS EVOLUTION!
"He will be back tomorrow." pfffttt yep
They actually didn't use mocap for the animations. Everything was hand animated over the course of about 6 years.
They've been working on this for 6 years?
I myself started watching this show for the very first time, and I've never ever seen or touched league of legends. Let me just tell you, The community is amazingly supportive and the show is just a masterpiece 🙌
"Straight Two Towers'd you bro". I love you guys so much. This is how you got me to subscribe: by saying the best things ever!
fyi: that world/planet is called runeterra not earth. 2nd prof. Heimerdinger is a yordle (a mage race from bandle city who is hidden to none yordle beings. thats why he knows so much about magic) hope it helps even a little 😊 oh and powder (jinx) is not a support, she's an ad carry/marksman.
Rana falling in love for the Yordle.. Why am I not surprise at all ?
4:20
The Assassins Creed cinematics along with the Star Wars the old republic cinematics are the only ones that I would put on the same level as the LoL cinematics. I would love a series of all of them... and you should react to them!
6:27 - the name Heimerdinger is probably a tribute or a reference to famous scientists SchröDINGER und OppenHEIMER ;)
My favorite part is when they talk over the plot and then ask what's going on.
Them: Powder is a support
Me: Laughs in Get Excited
"Powder is a support" *don't tell them guys* 😏
Thanks for watching the show!
Here are a couple of key points for those like you that haven't played League of Legends ever:
- It is a Moba game with different roles available.
So far off but somehow coming back around to near the mark hahaha.
looked up voice actors for the characters and what a nice surprise to see katie leung, who was cho chang in the harry potter movies, voicing Caitlyn.
well, from this I now know that people are very confused about the setting. Ganking a lane also isn't english and you can't interpret what it means. You don't want the enemy jungler to gank your lane, but you want your jungler to gank your lane, but then leave and not tax your lane by stealing minions and xp. Idk if that even makes sense.
Great job on the crawl Mr. Editor!
heimerdingers name is actually cecil, which is hilarious
Fun fact: Dan from Lucifer voices Jayce
5:45 Typical reaction to any Yordle :D
@11:19 if only this were that kinda story LOL
I could have sworn he said "uyghurs" and it took me a moment to realize that "ooooooh" response was not what I thought it was....
The song you guys liked is actually created by by riot (the game company) for arcane. I thought that it was 100% an old 70s song that they just used when i heard it first
I really wish we could have gotten more with these characters as kids.
I really love your reactions! You guys are so fun to watch hehe♥️♥️
24:00 Its less about other worlds more like regions/continents, some have alot of magic and some don't.
Modern handcuffs are already hinged. The old chain handcuffs have been phasing out for decades. The reason being chained handcuffs are weaker, and people strong enough can break the chain.
“This isn’t an alarm! Run!”
fucking priceless
I loved the detail of the inventor's mom nearly dying from frost bite... and you can see the color leaving her fingers starting with the tips of her index and middle finger.
Then later when she speaks during the court hearing she is wearing 2 metal finger sleeves to hide that those fingers are likely dead due to the frostbite that almost took her life.
Wow, I though it was a weird fashion thing. Good catch
03:04 this will make sure that everyone will never know that peter parker is spiderman
Its the tv era, finally, for animation & fantasy!!! so so much goodies coming!!!!!!
