I love how people gotta clarify that it is, in fact, a father/daughter relationship here in the comments. The writers did a really good job at making it uncomfortable as hell to watch, lmao.
Its sad though because in reality she acts like a child (who, in this context if she was a child being so close to silco, nobody would question it because children are clingy) because she's never been reprimanded for her behavior.
The Hexgate sequence is absolutely epic. This gigantic magic steampunk machine slowly powering up as this simple and smooth epic melody rises up. The formation of the magical forces around the airship as it floats into position, and the surge and "whoosh" as the music crescendos. . Whoever did that, knows what they're fuckin' doing. I could seriously watch that on a loop.
Jinx has always been like that especially after that traumatic event. She tends to hug whoever she likes or friends. You can take Chuck the bartender for example.
So the song Jinx is vibing out to while working on her stuff, when Silco comes to yell at her like an angry dad, is apparently her theme song in the game. It's called "Get Jinxed" and *Jeff Goldblum voice* it actually ah, ah, slaps. Also great job with these reaction/reviews, y'all. I've laughed out loud several times during every one.

It was literally just her normal attack... which becomes faster as she attacks if I remember right? Haven't played in years though... Her ultimate ability is to fire a rocket that can travel across the entire map and does more damage the lower an enemy's health is... oh and the rocket explodes into a decently large area, meaning you can snipe the entire enemy team from across the map if you're good enough and they're all wounded from a fight with the rest of your team.
WE BACK! HAPPY PROGRESS DAY! Jinx/Powder - really is one of my favourite Characters. I did not think i would ever care about her but man she is done really well. I like how they are showcasing the fluctuation of her mental state. Or how she replaced one Father Figure (Vander) with his Killer (Silco). Quite Morbid but understandable for a girl that only wants to find herself and gain some recognition, love and maybe respect even. I was afraid her "Crazyness" would come of the wrong way, but it fits and feels really good to me - wich still feels bad because ....man fk i just want to hug her :( Jinx and Silco feels very obviously (atleast for me) like a father daughter relationship - Jinx has MASSIVE abandonment issues, is extra clingy, knows no boundaries ect ect. 20:00 GET JINXED Mel is one hell of a manipulative woman, I love how they're developing her character. Caitlyn - also a Character i frequently play as but never really cared for. She`s really interesting in Arcane tho. Poor Victor looking so sickly :( i think Jayce would share the Fame but Victor truly does not care about it at all. He is a Scientist 100% of the time.
Mad respect to everyone at Fortiche animation and the Riot team that put the script together. There was tremendous effort put into every bit of this and it shows.
I think their interactions are less romantic/sexual and more mentor/religious leader/father. At least from Silco's side. Jinx, idk. She's a dependent wild card right now. But I just think she needs someone to rely on her, to treat her like she's not a jinx. The relationship is just reminiscent of Joker/Harley because she crazy, and crazy dependent on his being there for her. Silco so far hasn't shown any signs of desiring her in the way people are assuming. He sees himself in her, and my bet is he just wants her to grow up, to get the same enlightenment, like he did. Because he thinks he's so right, in both how to save Zaun and how to be strong. Maybe it's also because after finding someone like him, he doesn't wanna be alone. So, he tries to look out for her but the only way he thinks he can is to make her more like him. Make her powerful. (He also looks like he's dying, so he might also be grooming a successor) It's weird. But if you think about both of their characters perspectives and motivations, it makes sense.
Jinx's and Silco's relationship may look a bit odd but it's because Jinx mentally is still like a kid, he is like a father figure in a way and she just acts all touchy and clingy with him because she has never really grown up mentally, I mean if u look at how kids act w their parents they tend to be clingy and Jinx has always been very attached to whoever looked after her
I too was really worried about Silco's treatment of Jinx with that first scene in his office. I mean, he's not a good role model, but it was a relief when I realized that there was NOT anything sexual going on. I also got that Joker and Harley vibe, except he isn't abusive- at least not in the same way or to the same degree- as the Joker, and he's not crazy, just evil.
Jayce isn't from a different world, the mage just teleported him and his mother from the mountains to the valley, the same way the hexgates teleport ships between cities now
Powder suffered an extreme psychotic break at the end of ep.3. She'd always had some underlying issues before, and then they sheltered her pretty thoroughly for most of her life. Then "that" happened. Now, the psychological trauma was so severe that her brain literally physically damaged itself in a desperate attempt to keep functioning. Like digging a firebreak in a wildfire. Nothing and no one can help her anymore, because now she's forever trapped with the fire, and it will never go out.
bruh i literally just finished watching your reaction to episode 3, and I was thinking to myself "oh manI cant wait to see their reaction to the other episodes." and you post it right then iconic timing
I find it easier to think of Jinx/Powder as severely emotionally stunted. She behaves like a child, acts like one, and clings like one. If you think of her as a 9-10 year old then the Jinx-Silco relationship becomes less weird.
Mia Sinclair (Powder) is 15 *now.* She was 11-12 at the time of recording. I don't know if they give out Oscar's for voice acting but if they do, no one has ever earned it more.
I love that they initially thought the monkey exploded 5 times. Like every explosion caused massive damage to everything around it but that janky tin monkey somehow survived and kept blowing up. They were so immersed in the episode that all logic went out the window.

I want you guys to know something: Professor Hiemerdinger's species is known as yordles and yordles live in bandle city In bandle city, time moves differently, so professor Hiemerdinger can be more than a 1000 years old. In league of legends lore, 900 years before the events of arcane, there was a huge war called the rune war. World runes are powerful stones(like infinity stones) and were used to create the planet this story is taking place on. That's right, this ain't earth. This planet is called runeterra. SO, It might be possible Hiemerdinger is referencing the rune wars when he said magic causes destruction.

I could've sworn they used some kind of mocap simply because how close Jayce looks to Kevin Alejandro (Dan Espinoza in Lucifer). They captured all of his mannerisms...it's like a younger version of the voice actor himself.
Him looking like the voice actor doesn't mean mocap... that just means a great modelling team. What i can definitely tell you is that it's not uncommon to do performance capture with close up videos of the faces,. That captured reference is such a crucial component of great CGI or CG animation, and that's probably how they laid a base their mannerisms before fine tuning them. If they really didn't use mocap for the entirety of the show, i have no idea how the stuck to their deadlines within a reasonable budget simply key framing everything. It's insane thinking about them hand placing a random model in the background walking around without mocap, or an old animation, as a basis. Key framed 3D animation is extremely time consuming when trying to make look natural (even in with stylized worlds and exaggerated motions). That animation department deserves props and a vacation lol
The relationship between Silco and Jinx is that of a father-daughter type one (although even if he does genuinely care for her like a daughter he is also kind of using her and enabling her trauma because he went through similar trauma and did not uhh learn to cope with it well so) Post timeskip Vi is around 24 I believe so Jinx is probably like around 17-19
the leader of the fire lights is EKKO. The dynamic between jinx and ekko is going to be really interesting cause jinx killed that pink haired fire light.
Silco and Jinx’s interactions were very well written. He groomed the hell out of her and as a result she’s so overly touchy it’s physically uncomfortable. Whether or not Silco cares about her genuinely is up for debate, but he definitely seems to _believe_ that he does. Before anyone corrects me, grooming doesn’t have to be sexual.
as for other sources of lore, a lot of what people know come from sources outside the actual game; there are promotion videos, music videos, web comics, and even a book full of lore.
Jinx's VA is the actress who played Bautistas daughter in Army of the Dead. Can we just agree the depiction of mental instability in this is freaking scary and beautifully handled
I love the way they show how different Zaun is now to when Vander was in charge. With Vander, there was a harsh reality to the world but one that had a sense of loyalty, respect, and brotherhood. With Silco, it's the hardcore party lifestyle of everyone out for themselves and fear being used to keep others in line.
Marcus had to lock up VI because if you remember before; the enforcer's deal with Vander was that they needed to lock someone up so that enforcers don't storm into zaun (undercity)
If the animation studio, Fortiche, was capable of rendering minute expressions with such loving detail - There is no way that they didn't intend of Jinx and Silco to have such a tension "are they gonna - no, no they can't - but Are They?" I fully believe that making their relationship hard to define especially with the Really Visible shows of physical intimacy is the Point actually. And it is supposed to make the audience uncomfortable or at least in anticipation of something that they're not sure *won't* happen. They want the audience to always be second guessing. They don't want the relationship to be that clear cut. That's the entertainment value.

@@primecoconut4204 facts. If you had to use Jinx, then you messed up already
nothing sexual between them , it's 100% a father/daughter type relationship
They're still 100% weird
Everybody keeps saying that kind of thing like they all forgot that Japan and Arkansas exist.
@@DoremiFasolatido1979 wut???
Nahh there was def a weird vibe. I think they implied it, but won't go there. Some sexual tension, but still mentor and mentee type of relationship.
@@nostalgicbliss5547 the sexual tension comes from the filing that if Silco were to try it she wouldn't say no.
Vi was immediately imprisoned. They have extra lore in the client. She has apparently has picked a fight with every inmate in the prison (and won them all) and enjoys getting interrogated.
"Jinx has no problem with murder". Yup.
They don't know what Jinx did in the get jinxed music video.
Those were not "robots"
"Everyone goes BOOM"
- Jinx
I love how people gotta clarify that it is, in fact, a father/daughter relationship here in the comments.
The writers did a really good job at making it uncomfortable as hell to watch, lmao.
And lets not forget that they have watched all of Act 2 by now so they know just as much as us.
Its sad though because in reality she acts like a child (who, in this context if she was a child being so close to silco, nobody would question it because children are clingy) because she's never been reprimanded for her behavior.
@@whatinthegoddamn2353 Yeah her mental state stayed as a child but her innocence has long been gone. I'm so sad for her 🥺
9:17 "She just used her ult". You hear the sighs of thousands of LOL players
We haven't even seen Fishbones, yet :(
The Hexgate sequence is absolutely epic.
Poor Chuck lol
Never noticed that detail. I thought she was just being friendly. She really is starved for love.
Also he stops the music right as it would say "I am feeling a little ignored"
@@eduardokerber2931 I didn't notice that! The detail, man.
Imagine Dragons made " Warriors " for riot games`s world championship in 2014 , they also play league , they are beloved in the league community , it was a no-brainer to get them to do this.
Jinx is kind of Harley Quinn mixed with the joker rolled into one. An insane, dependant genius with no problem with murder.
"She just used her ult."
Me: "Oh sweet baby child..."
It was literally just her normal attack... which becomes faster as she attacks if I remember right? Haven't played in years though...
Her ultimate ability is to fire a rocket that can travel across the entire map and does more damage the lower an enemy's health is... oh and the rocket explodes into a decently large area, meaning you can snipe the entire enemy team from across the map if you're good enough and they're all wounded from a fight with the rest of your team.
dat finale
@isle9 if u build her lethality her q becomes a mini ult
I was afraid her "Crazyness" would come of the wrong way, but it fits and feels really good to me - wich still feels bad because ....man fk i just want to hug her :(
Jinx and Silco feels very obviously (atleast for me) like a father daughter relationship - Jinx has MASSIVE abandonment issues, is extra clingy, knows no boundaries ect ect.
20:00 GET JINXED
Mel is one hell of a manipulative woman, I love how they're developing her character.
Caitlyn - also a Character i frequently play as but never really cared for. She`s really interesting in Arcane tho.
Poor Victor looking so sickly :( i think Jayce would share the Fame but Victor truly does not care about it at all. He is a Scientist 100% of the time.
well i think with Viktor its more like he doesnt want people to see the state he is in..
For some shots, the production studio said that a whole day of work would only make 0.75 sec of animation.
Imagine the boss is coming and everyone has to show what they did that they. Here it is and here its gone lol
Mad respect to everyone at Fortiche animation and the Riot team that put the script together. There was tremendous effort put into every bit of this and it shows.
Gonna be a while for season 2.
@@gudhaxer41343 I'm thinking late 2023-early 2024. Their animation team is alot bigger than what they started with.
I was waiting for this the whole Weekend.
SAME
I’m so lucky I discovered them last night. But it’s gonna suck having to wait for Act 3
(He also looks like he's dying, so he might also be grooming a successor)
It's weird. But if you think about both of their characters perspectives and motivations, it makes sense.
Waiting for this all week! Best reaction group ive found for this show, and now more that im watching.
Father-daughter, I think its mainly Jinx's clothing and behavior that's making it weird.
Yeah she acting like she still a a baby which she mentally is but it definitely was awkward to watch.
her clothing doesn’t matter, it’s just her childish personality and attachment issues.
Jinx got close to his face to take a look at his eye, not because of anything else. It's strictly father and daughter.
y'all grinding out the videos today can't wait for the rest of act 2 soon
Jayce isn't from a different world, the mage just teleported him and his mother from the mountains to the valley, the same way the hexgates teleport ships between cities now
The song at 20:00 is is called "Get Jinxed" and is Jinx's theme. It was released when she was added to the game 8 years ago.
i'm dumb and even with credits it took me forever to realize harry lloyd (Viserys Game of Thrones) is the voice of Viktor.
can't stop thinking about Arcane 😭
Heimerdinger is a portmanteau of J. Robert Oppenheimer and Erwin Schrödinger's last names.
Is this true or you just trolling?
@@neogetright7542 true
Chris was super quick to pick up on Jinx still being in the mind of a child lol, just part of why i love his reactions
'She just used her ult!', nope, that's her basic attack.
AA ftw
Just realized that Jinx hasn't brought out her FISHBONE the entire series so far. :o
@@rakibamin7015 Oh boy you jinxed it
I find it easier to think of Jinx/Powder as severely emotionally stunted. She behaves like a child, acts like one, and clings like one. If you think of her as a 9-10 year old then the Jinx-Silco relationship becomes less weird.
I was gonna say….I really hope the whole group keeps up with the show because the show is really great :)
Mia Sinclair (Powder) is 15 *now.*
She was 11-12 at the time of recording.
The show does alot of cool visual things that most others don't, I appreciate that about it but yeah, it seems to throw viewers off more than I expected.
"Oh man jinx just ultied" *Jinx auto attacks* I think hes gonna be surprised by her in the future lol
I'm so glad you guys are continuing to react to this! You won't be disappointed.
Their story won't have any more time jumps because this is how they look in the game. But next season the new characters in a another location might have a couple episodes of backstory and then a time jump to catch up.
Powder/Jynx definitely gives off Harley Quinn Vibes. She hears all the voices and sees things but still very much hyper focused in this realty, her aim and reaction time is inhuman like
Man, I love your reaction and discussion about the show. You guys really notice and dig deep in the details, absolutely love that. And the fact that you guys do not have the background knowledge about some characters make it even better. Can wait to see more!
Much appreciated!
Of all the reaction channels that react to arcane, you have the best edits, great thoughts, and catch up quickly with the story. Great work. Just thought it had to be said.

Why did you people feel the need to spoil this?
This story seems to be setting up the characters as how they are represented in the games current timeline. So if you want to avoid spoilers don’t play the game yet or read up on Jinx and Vi’s lore.
22:14 "who the hell are you" violet is such an entertaining fun to hear and watch charachter ( the voice actresses are soo darn good its crazy )
She was so badass and iconic in that shot. Impresses on people that all that prison time was not kind to her whatsoever, made her jacked af tho lol
I remember first seeing her perform in True Grit, she's so good.
Lol Suraj was so uncomfortable watching that Jinx Silco scene, I was like wtf is going on for a second too.
Remember the first explosion on the first episode? Caitlyn was there and saw a blue haired little girl. And in this episode she sees the same blue hair again
"Dude jinx has no problem with murder!?"
LOL
29:37 he cant calm down with noxians (the biggest and mos expansionist empire in runeterra) , the only thing halting its advance to conquer piltover is because its a trade route, but sure as heck they will eventually try to take over, and the series love to reference noxus alot.
Now that you've seen Jinx , you guys really should react to the music video "Get Jinxed" , well animated and arcane gave it a whole new context , i would also recommend watching the "Call for power" cinamatic , shows well how mages are powerfull and the kind of thing Heimerdinger is afraid .
Fun Fact: Imagine Dragons loves League so when Riot heard about that they reached out and since then have collaborated on many projects
Well Vi's tattoo on her face get bigger over time. Vi is around 20 here (Confirmed by in game journal event) so Jinx probably 15-17. FOR YOU GUYS ARE CONFUSED AND CURIOUS Piltover and Zaun has they're on fundamental technology.
Piltover = Hextech (Base on Magic)
Zaun = Chemtech (Base on Chemicals)
Fun Fact: One of Vi's skin called "Demon Vi" has VI VI VI (666) in her pants
"I want more Mel and Jayce"
Well... 😏
Riot: say less fam
Riot: So you want fully animated penetration? I'm on it.
Jayce hammering as usual
Powder was 7, Jinx is 17 here; it has been 10 years, hence Heimerdinger's comment about how a decade "can pass in the blink of an eye"
13:18
Bruh yall gasping for a second with Jinx getting reeeeaaaal close to Silco will always be funny 😝
Jayce : Can i borrow you for a minute?
Mel : How about for every nite?

YAAAAAAY! This show is SO GOOD! I've watched every episode twice already and Ive never played LoL in my life. cray cray
The reason Vi is locked up is that the police still needed a prisoner locked up for the heist that happened in episode 1.
I want you guys to know something:
Professor Hiemerdinger's species is known as yordles and yordles live in bandle city
In bandle city, time moves differently, so professor Hiemerdinger can be more than a 1000 years old.
Just tell them to go watch "Call of power"
it basically explains Heimer fears.
Studio that made this and the showrunners from riot, both worked on jinx and vi originally (and their release songs /videos as overs have mentioned)
It's beautiful as a fan for so long that those who've been with the characters since the beginning (fans like myself included) to finally delve deeper into who they are
22:18 I was literally Rana when I saw Vi in that scene.. yeah.
20:00 The song playing by the way is her song. On the day of her release the song "Get Jinxed" also debuted. It was also released 8 years ago.
Cant wait for part 5 and 6 reactions been waiting all day since I discovered part 1-3 this morning
“I want more Mel” so does Jayce
The song Jinx is rocking out to is called "Get Jinxed" it was the soundtrack to her original Jinx story video.
this show is so good
Prediction : We haven't seen echo yet so I'm guessing he's the fire lights leader or whatever they're called 🤷🏽
17:30 Looooool! I saw this was uploaded around the time of release but this is straight up some early release stuff! x'D
I don't remember how long the "Jinx in baby voice" subtitle stayed there but it wasn't long. x'D
I could've sworn they used some kind of mocap simply because how close Jayce looks to Kevin Alejandro (Dan Espinoza in Lucifer). They captured all of his mannerisms...it's like a younger version of the voice actor himself.
Wait, I didn't even know that was him xD
The relationship between Silco and Jinx is that of a father-daughter type one (although even if he does genuinely care for her like a daughter he is also kind of using her and enabling her trauma because he went through similar trauma and did not uhh learn to cope with it well so)
Post timeskip Vi is around 24 I believe so Jinx is probably like around 17-19
Been waiting for my fav Arcane reaction show
the leader of the fire lights is EKKO. The dynamic between jinx and ekko is going to be really interesting cause jinx killed that pink haired fire light.
Jinx was listening to her own theme song (Get Jinxed) when she's working with the Hextech stone.
I’ve been looking forward to you all covering this!
"It's been at least a year, right ?"
=> Supermassive facepalm.
Yo, i'm so invested in ya'll reaction on this one. IDK why.
You all should definitely react to the league cinematics.
Warriors and Awaken are great starting points
Marcus had to lock up VI because if you remember before; the enforcer's deal with Vander was that they needed to lock someone up so that enforcers don't storm into zaun (undercity)
If the animation studio, Fortiche, was capable of rendering minute expressions with such loving detail -
There is no way that they didn't intend of Jinx and Silco to have such a tension "are they gonna - no, no they can't - but Are They?"
I fully believe that making their relationship hard to define especially with the Really Visible shows of physical intimacy is the Point actually. And it is supposed to make the audience uncomfortable or at least in anticipation of something that they're not sure *won't* happen.
They want the audience to always be second guessing. They don't want the relationship to be that clear cut. That's the entertainment value.
You guys should do a reaction video to "Get Jinxed" which is the song Jinx was listening to in her workshop.
oh thank god please continue to watch this show its so cool to see u guys react to my favorite francise. i thought after your community post u wouldnt be covering the whole show that would be so sad. pls pls do more im a big fan
