I love the name of Piltover. It fits the steam punk theme very well because it sounds like a very old english word for "Built Over", which is exactly what Piltover is. The small city state was built on top of the sunken ruins of Zaun, a thousand years old port city from an egyptian like lost empire. As you will see, people from the upper class have a brittish accent. And all classes in Piltover and Zaun are ethnically very diverse for good reason. Piltover/Zaun is located on a very thin land strip that connects the northern and southern continent and it is the only passage for trade routes, without having to sail around an entire continent (like the sues channel). It's similar enough to our world that we can relate, but detatched enough that it doesn't get tangled up in political debates (it's rare these days, I know).

Not gonna lie, as a guy with no interest in MOBA, and who's not a big fan of the gameplay in Valorant despite mostly playing shooters, Runeterra is pretty good

I love non-LoL players reacting to series simply for the fact that the commentary tends to be more about the story and characters rather than Easter eggs and references.
As a jungler, it both makes me happy and sad that “jungle diff” is the one takeaway people get from friends that play the game. Also I love arcane super hyped for the next 3 episodes.
Instant like from your "DON'T TALK TO US ABOUT LEAGUE OF LEGENDS" intro 😂 Loved that. Saw another reaction and instead of talking about what they just saw they talked about how it was related to the games. I don't care about that - just thought the show was great.
Never been interested in LOL since MOBAs aren't my thing. However, I've always been extremely impressed by how much time, energy, and thought went into the lore. They did NOT need to do that. "These people fight on this map" is the extent of lore that they needed. I've always wanted a more in depth look at the lore, so I'm very much looking forward to the rest of the series. Loved this show as a non LoL fan! Binged it yesterday and I’m here now trying to relive the show through reactions. Amazing visuals, soundtrack and characters!
"We're gonna experience it now." yeah a backstory of a bunch of characters from specifically 2 cities. There's a hundred-ish of those btw so don't worry- do yourselves a favor and DON'T touch the game and just, enjoy the ride! Story was probably the most enjoyable part- then they tended to retcon backstories over, and over and over- Game itself is its own bundle of dynamite and I envy your lack of 4+ years wasted playing it- had fun when playing with friends tho, at least more than usual. Overall it felt like a stressfilled commitment.
Yeah almost no one has ever said the story is the best part of League. That's literally hilarious considering the story consists of vague backstories that are intentionally left open ended.
Moba is always stressful especially going against good players. It’s like a job playing that game honestly. I play the mobile version and other mobas as well. I especially hate ranked games
You can check it out on its own, the lore is so rich and big that it holds up without playing the game. But its waaaaaaay more enjoyable when you know the characters beforehand. Either way, enjoy it because the first 3 episodes were sooooo gooood.
Yes, my favorite reactors doing my new favorite show. You don't need to know anything about League of Legends to love this show. Heavy Dishonored influences by the way, which is great.
I only just started watching Arcane myself but the moment I heard Shohreh Aghdashloo, I went 'gotta check out the Normies reacting to episode 1, they're gonna be so hyped she's in this!'
After watching this show it makes me hope that the game devs branch out and make a good game, one that isnt top down view with a million things happening on screen. this franchise would shine in an mmo setting.
Is this the first time Micky has mentioned playing d&d? It feels like he's recently gotten into it cause he's making a bunch of d&d jokes/references in this video alone lol which I honestly love. This was the best reaction I have seen! Your analysis was great and your understanding and memory of key plot points was impressive (I had not remembered Powder had placed the crystals in her pocket until she noticed them later). Can't wait to see E2 and E3 reactions!
Imagine dragons collaborated with riot since 2014(with the song warriors) , they are back to have a banger song for this show, and about the setting, different regions and nations have different cultures and style of buildings.
My husband has played LoL for years, before our 13yrs together. He watched the first episode and told me that I can keep watching with the kid's on our own, he wasn't into it.
When you guys make comparisons to other things i think its good because your linking the show to somthing you enjoyed in the past and it creates a good vibe and feeling around the show
Glad you guys are watching, no need for league knowledge. Great show all on its own. It is perhaps slightly more enjoyable if you know some of the lore/ backstories behind some of the characters but you don't need it. Look forward to watching along with you guys.
Jinx (Powder) is an AD-carry (ranged attack fighter) and not a support champion. I don't know if the whole series is a prequel. But the episode you have seen shows the characters Vi and Jinx as kids. In the game they are adults. So parts of the show might be called prequel. I don't know how the show will progress, but the trailer also shows Jinx and Vi as adults.
Just gonna note, I've heard that some channels are getting copyright strikes over this show. I know you guys know your business, but still feels like a thing worth saying.
General Consensus. Every thing about the league universe is a banger, except the game it self. If you want to play a game that explores the lore as well, Legends of Runeterra is suggested(card game). If you like pain, play league

Not gonna lie, as a guy with no interest in MOBA, and who's not a big fan of the gameplay in Valorant despite mostly playing shooters, Runeterra is pretty good
I love how they incorporate the intertwining lore of each of these characters. To see how they develop into the champs they become is phenomenal. 10/10 show
HELL YEAH!
I believe it's best that you DON'T know anything about league since this is an Origins story. I'm so excited about this show!
huh? i guesss that ok
Erase half his shit lol awesome
Bro the western style mixed with the almost pastel look of the animation is so good
Lol @ everyone complaining about the poll results. Guarantee you the vast majority of "No" votes haven't even seen an image or a second of footage for this show. This show is absolutely fantastic and you really don't need any Leage of Legends knowledge to enjoy it, which I bet is what is keeping some people away. Hope the naysayers give it a shot, especially if you like animated media.
The camera angles n close ups like a imaginary camera man made it epic💯
The actress they were freaking out over actually has done more voice acting. She's in both Mass Effect 2 and 3.
Omg yess, I creamed when I was playing and heard her speak.
@@obsidious9809 😐
Oh, for real? Can you please tell me which character she voiced? It's just that right now I'm going through Mass Effect Legendary Edition and I don't remember her voice at all
@@MisterSunshine17 She's the Quarian Admiral, Shala'Raan vas Tonbay.
And Lakshmi-2 from Destiny. Funny enough, both character sounds like they have robotic filter over voice, but it's natural
Oh
*SHIIIIIIT*
so glad you guys are reacting to this one!
And people that know little-to-nothing about this series, or the games, or the lore in general, makes the reaction 10x better
I love how they freaked out when Shohreh's character speaks, as a fellow The Expanse watcher can relate
Seems good so far.
All ya gotta remember there is no good nor bad champions just champions with dreams
I mean they started Arcane years ago, like even before ruination. I think so yeh it's so well planned and Fortiche did a good job on animation
@@ghostlyflamingo07 I mean...
There ARE bad champions, like Thresh, Kha'Zix or Hecarim. I can even point at Singed from Zaun but he kind off has a dream like you mentioned (pure evil imo, though)
League has a broad sheet of options, so it's good that there are some Pure evil champions to balance things up.
@@jorgeflorez2816 what about our lord and savior, Kled, the High Major Commodore of the First Legion Third Multiplication Double Admiral Artillery Vanguard Company? Will you respect his authority?
I DID NOT EXPECT THIS LOL, BLOODY GOOD SHOW.
Story was probably the most enjoyable part- then they tended to retcon backstories over, and over and over-
Game itself is its own bundle of dynamite and I envy your lack of 4+ years wasted playing it- had fun when playing with friends tho, at least more than usual. Overall it felt like a stressfilled commitment.
Yeah almost no one has ever said the story is the best part of League. That's literally hilarious considering the story consists of vague backstories that are intentionally left open ended.
@@everettt4288 speak for yourself lmao.
Vi was my most played for like 7 years and watching this show was such a fun experience for me. I hope y’all really enjoyed it too 🙏
"Yeah I think Powder is a support" LOL
Yes, my favorite reactors doing my new favorite show. You don't need to know anything about League of Legends to love this show. Heavy Dishonored influences by the way, which is great.
hell yeah booooooooooooooyyyy. the dishonored vibes are insane. bioshock too. i love steampunk
I thought the Normies would start on this show after a handful of other reactors already have started on it. The first episode wasn't bad.
The french proud of animation … the studio « Fortiche »!!🇫🇷🇫🇷
“I feel like powder is sort of a support character”
*heh. hehe. hehehehehehahahahAHAHAHA*
Sharn is an excellent example of a place that is similar to piltover/zaun. The eberron setting is a good one.
"You got scuba gear....
I can hold my breath really long."
Hahahahahha my man
Is this the first time Micky has mentioned playing d&d? It feels like he's recently gotten into it cause he's making a bunch of d&d jokes/references in this video alone lol which I honestly love. Calling Chris chaotic evil, mentioning it again and chaotic good during the discussion. I wanna know more about his campaign :D
Piltover = NYC, Undercity = The Burrows, The Lanes = Harlem
All i can say, is MASSIVE reacter diff in the RUclips lane here, yall gapping every other channel HARD. GGs, go next
It combines steampunk, biopunk and dieselpunk genres
Real talk, I had a classmate from highschool that was on the "chonkier side", and one time he got jumped by 3 robbers and, after getting a knife to the gut, managed to knock all of them out and still got out alive. Big dudes can be pretty scary in a fight!
Yesssssss! I've been looking up reaction videos for this show since friday and none of them were up to the quality of a Normies video.
Never played League of Legends before, but I've seen these first 3 episodes 6 times though since friday and I have been Needing you guys to react to it
Yes..I'm so fucking happy this show is getting attention. It's excellent 👌
attention? the show has gotten a 9.4/10 and its leading the board how much more do you want lol.
When you actually have played the game before it hits different. It's like you discover part of the life of the characters you always play and the dialogues they have in the game start to make more sense
Idk anything about League of Legends, but I thought this first episode was really. The animation is insane and the story is promising, for an introduction episode
Thank you so much for reacting to this! I was scared when I saw the poll and the majority said no. I'm excited to see people who don't play the game to see the show for what it is and give their take! :D
Oh my god you’re actually watching it lets gooo. There’s gonna be a lot of things you don’t know about but don’t worry too much about it.
There’s a lot of hidden details that only players would know and it’s extremely exiting
One of the best animated shows I've seen... amazing characters, animation, and dialogue... and holy fk that production value is off the charts. This is movie quality stuff.
Arcane is so damn good! Happy to see you guys reacting to it.
"Such an adorable relationship they have here." Ooooooh... hahaha...haaaaaaaa...it's got to be adorable here, because they've got to rip your heart out with how it goes later...
aaaah this show is a masterpiece... I thought I was bias cus I am a league player myself but watching non league players enjoy it can confirm.. 10/10
I'm so glad you guys are reacting to this! I play League, and while there is some fan service stuff, I honestly think it's better if you don't know League so I'm happy none of you do. Cheers and thank you!!!!
Ps I also freaked out when I heard Avasarala!
Btw just so you guys know, league games aren't canon within the universe. So terminology in game is irrelevant in the show so you can avoid confusion.
Chris' humor is so strong. Clever and quick
I’ve always said the best part about LoL were the characters/lore so it’s so dope to see they’re making a tv show about it even though I no longer like the actual game
I actually love they have no clue about the game. It makes the show exclusively a show for them and they can judge it on its quality and not years of gameplay and lore bits
This show is fucking beautiful and literally everything about it is amazing... and I knew nothing about LoL before watching it (from what Ive heard the community gets angry at new people easily)
Credits to a 100% french studio behind the serie that no one is talking about. Fortiche. They delivered with these animations
"you're a support"
Actually she's an ADC.
People say is this an ad for the game? I think the game was an ad for the whole time just to promote their show
Vi "What are they?"
Suraj, "Bombs." Lol!
“You guys wanted us to watch this”
The poll “56% no”
Judging by the views they were correct lol the people that said no had no idea what it was.
When you guys make comparisons to other things i think its good because your linking the show to somthing you enjoyed in the past and it creates a good vibe and feeling around the show
the amount of reactors watching this show who know absolutely nothing about league is kinda impressive... i love it lmao
Glad you guys are watching, no need for league knowledge. Great show all on its own. It is perhaps slightly more enjoyable if you know some of the lore/ backstories behind some of the characters but you don't need it. Look forward to watching along with you guys.
i just finish watching this on netflix its crazy bro. this shit is wild
Best show this year, for me at least. The Lore is too good and the art style badass!! 👍💪
1:17 New fave of the crew just for this joke. alone god i love you guys
Just gonna note, I've heard that some channels are getting copyright strikes over this show. I know you guys know your business, but still feels like a thing worth saying.
Amazing reaction... So happy you decided to watch it... Looking forward to the next episodes
General Consensus. Every thing about the league universe is a banger, except the game it self. If you want to play a game that explores the lore as well, Legends of Runeterra is suggested(card game). If you like pain, play league
The first 3 episodes are a 'kid's own adventure' until the last 20 minutes.
The arcane is based on two city piltover were the rich people live and Zaun were the poor people live
Piltover is on the top but Zaun is in piltover below
Zaun wasn't a thing yet in this episode.
Did you see you guys were featured in Arcane's tweet? So happy for y'all!
It was such a cool experience :)
"I thought it was Six", I havent laughed that hard in a while, thank you
After Squid Game, a lot of people started watching another Korean series on Netflix called My Name. Will you be reacting to them, anytime soon? Just curious.
such a good show
All I knew about LoL was my bro did a toy unboxing last month of his favorite character......sooooo after watching this.....DAMN......amazing This is the animation I hoped we would be at by now.
Chris: “I thought it was six. “ Dude, that was hilarious.
Rana, I had the same reaction to the cat at the end.
I’m not sure how I feel about this show yet, but I’m only one episode in. I’ll watch a few more and see if it gets better. Either way, I enjoyed this reaction from you guys.
its been a bit, how do you like the rest of it?
Third episode is where shit gets real.
I just finished watching this show yesterday and I LOVED it!!! All I knew about lol is that it was a game maybe pc but that’s it. So I was very unsure if I should watch it or not but I’m glad that I did because I was honestly surprised at how good it was. I loved the art animation, plot, characters, and soundtrack. But I especially liked the OST so much so that I’ve been listening to it on loop. I’m honestly obsessed with this show and of course I had to watch people reacting to this show to fuel my obsession.
