    RECIPES:
    PEANUT BLOSSOM COOKIES:
    1/2 cup white sugar
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 butter (melted)
    1/2 cup peanut butter
    1 egg
    2 Tablespoons milk
    2 1/4 cup flour
    1 teaspoon soda
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    approximately 25 Hershey Kisses
Mix the first 6 ingredients together. Add the dry ingredients and mix well. Shape into balls and roll in white sugar. Do not flatten. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and place a Hershey kiss on the top of each cookie. Press down until edges of cookie crack. Enjoy. 😊
    PARTY MIX:
    Preheat oven at 250 degrees
Fill a large 13 quart mixing bowl or container with cereal/snacks of your choice. Our favorites are: Honey Comb, Corn Chex, Wheat Chex, Cheerios, and pretzels.
    SAUCE:
    1 lb. butter
    3 Tablespoons Lawry's Salt
    3 Tablespoons Worchestershire Sauce
Melt the butter and add the salt and sauce. Stir until dissolved. Spread over cereal and mix until all the cereal is coated with sauce.
Put in roasters or pans and roast in the oven for an hour and a half, stirring every 15 minutes.
    CHILI SOUP:
    1 1/2 lbs ground beef
    1 onion (optional)
    1/2 cup flour
Approximately 85 oz. of tomato juice, sauce, diced tomatoes, etc. This can vary, depending on how thick you like your soup to be.
2 Tablespoons chili powder (more or less depending on how spicy you want the soup to be)
    2 teaspoons salt
    1/2 teaspoon pepper
    1/2 cup brown sugar
Brown the hamburger and onions. Put in a large kettle or soup pot. Add flour and stir thoroughly.
Add the tomato products, sugar, and all seasonings. bring to a boil. I always like to simmer it for 15 minutes at least to blend the flavors.
Serve with freshly shredded cheese and/or crackers.
    HOT COCOA:
    6 cups milk
    1/4 cup cocoa
    1/4 cup maple syrup
    3/4 cup water
    Cream
Bring this mixture to a simmer. Don't leave it unattended, because it will boil over!
Serve with fresh whipped cream or marshmallows.

I forget which comments I’ve actually left and which ones I’ve just thought, so in case I’ve never told you, I really enjoy your videos. You remind me of my cousin who I had all sorts of adventures with growing up. We were both farm girls and loved exploring the outdoors and making things. I really miss those times and think that she would really love this channel.

Our family loves Chex Party Mix. Over the years we have customized our favorite mix. We do the original recipe for the sauce but use lots of salted mixed nuts or just cashews, gold fish crackers, mini pretzels, bagel chips and of course the 3 Chex cereals. I usually make a double or sometimes a triple batch during the season. My kids would disown me if they came home and there wasn’t any Chex mix!!! 😂

Something to consider in the late winter/early spring, is a weekly routine for young ladies who are choosing to stay home as their full time job (Proverbs 31:27).I think there is a need for resources for young ladies. Perhaps your mother and sister would help put together a series of the best routines you carry on from your Amish roots that are useful to everyone. I think you are such a wonderful teacher and example of a Proverb 31 wife and mother.

I agree with you on the making up a batch of hot chocolate and having it ready for whenever. I make a non-dairy version which uses the blender to mix up. Then I just shake the bottle, pour out what I want and reheat in the microwave. Instant enough for me! Yum!

I always make the peanut blossom cookies every year too. Our family are homemade soup eaters also. Our favorite is chicken and vegetables. I make this soup with a bag of mixed frozen vegetables and add potatoes and onions in a large pot filled with chicken broth and water. I add some different spices like Italian seasoning or anything I might have that is good for chicken. I will add a can of white chicken breast drain to the mixture just before the soup is ready. If it is too runny I will add a little corn starch in a small bowl mixed with cold water and slowly add it to the finish soup. Every year I think I will try your recipe for the party mix and I never get around to trying it. Maybe this year……. Thank you for sharing. Ann from Va.

It was really neat to see someone else than my family make chili soup. We were born and raised in the UP and that was an all time favorite. We moved to Ok in 1981 and in time discovered their chili is a little different. It is not a soup and is thicker and is put on top of pasta or Fritos etc. It was just a nice surprise when you made chili soup. I always enjoy your videos and look forward to “ visiting” you. 😊

Greetings Mary from mid Missouri! The ritz peanut butter cookies we call Aunt Josie cookies in our family because it was my ex husbands aunt Josie who first made them for us nearly 35 years ago. I make them (by demand lol) every year since for Christmas…but as several have mentioned , I make half with white chocolate and I actually prefer those to milk chocolate. I also make hot cocoa rather than buying the store bought . Always use milk , never water! That’s sacrilegious lol

When using the almond bark I always just microwave it, it’s so much easier and it’s nearly impossible to burn. Sometimes I will do a crockpot which is super easy. I know some chips like white chocolate chips not almond bark do burn easy. When I get down to nearing the end of the chocolate I just throw nuts it so I can use every little bit a spoon them out. If it’s white chocolate I’ll use nuts or a fruity cereal or chow me in noodles. Just use what use have

I just made Party Mix this morning! 😄 My family’s recipe uses onion salt and garlic salt instead of the salt you were using. It also includes mixed nuts - which I thing my mom added to balance out the cereal with some protein. I noticed you added flour to the beef for the chili. I’m guessing to help thicken it. I don’t remember my mom doing that, but when I started cooking for my own family, we started crushing up some tortilla chips in the chili to help thicken it. I never measure. I just grab a handful or two and crush them into the soup. I keep meaning to try adding hominy to chili, but haven’t tried it yet. Your chili looks delicious, so I suspect I’ll be making some soon! Thanks for sharing what you’ve been making lately!

We also added elbow macaroni to the chili but I prefer it plain.

Tortillas are a great idea! My husband adds Doritos crushed up when he makes burger patties! You guys are so creative!
