The humility of this woman is out of this world. She doesn't know why we would want to watch her videos! I love everything about this channel: the house is so warm and inviting, the landscape of the area is relaxing, the green fields are beautiful, the way she speaks, her ideas and methods, etc, etc, etc. There are soooo many channels on RUclips of crafters that just paint and glue things they have bought pre-made at the typical places we all know, and they AAALLLL come up with the same projects over and over, 🤦🤦😒that when you see someone really working on something new it's exciting!!! Keep it up Mary! 👏👏👏👏👏

In a world of chaos you bring serenity to us through your videos. You exude a calmness that relaxes us whether you are cooking or creating. Your home is beautiful and inviting. If we are outdoors with you we can almost feel the nature that surrounds you. Along with many others I cannot wait at the end of a hectic day and get comfy in my own home and relax while watching you share your God-given talents with all of us! Bless you for blessing us, Mary! You’ve earned each and every one of your 300,000 subscribers!

Want to know why we watch you? You are real, completely unpretentious, creative, a good teacher, have a beautiful spirit, refreshing, reminder of the beauty of simplicity, and the kind of person I’d love to sit on the front porch swing with and have a cup of tea! Blessings, Mary, as you are a blessing to us!

For me your videos bring back a time when things were simpler and wholesome. A time when we reused and recycled and fixed what was broken. A time when we cooked homemade meals and baked delicious breads and pies and treats in our grandmothers kitchen. From the music in your videos to your soft spoken voice….everything reminds of the good ole days when things moved much slower and we appreciated what we had. I feel blessed to have found your channel especially during these uncertain times. I can forget what’s going on around me and remember the days of my youth growing up on the farm.

My mother-in-law made one of these and I received it after her death. It is ingenious! She made hers by double stacking the cans, which made it taller, of course. Please do more of these crafts. Too much of our heritage of “making do” has been lost.

Donna, your comment made me smile..... I have followed Mary since the beginning, and one of the cutest things she has always said in her videos is how something she uses or has "will have to do for now" lol.
She is probably one of the most if not THE most deserving beautiful souls I have ever seen in my life, Mary is a breath of fresh air, if there were more people in this world like Mary we would all be so very blessed for it...she truly is a genuine and golden soul inside and out.....she more than deserves every good thing that touches her life.....
May God continue to bless her heart and soul, her life and her families lives, they have ALL got to be so very proud of Mary! I know I am proud of her and from the comments made most all the rest of us are just as proud....good job Mary!

I was so happy to find this! My grandma made each one of us our own "can stool“. I’m nearly 69 yrs old and still had mine until about 5 years ago. It was all completely done by hand and not as fancy as yours.
The cans were taped together with old strapping tape and tied with cord. A piece of oil cloth covered the bottoms of the cans and the top was padded with cotton. Material was a large circle and covered the whole thing. It was placed on the material with the top down and hand stitched all around and drawn tight at the bottom.
She then crochet a cover for the outside. I haven’t been able to figure out the "pattern” for the cover so mine no longer had the crocheted cover.
It brought back a lot of memories watching your video!❤

Love this! For beginners - I think those smaller popcorn tins would work well too. They wouldn't be flower shaped - but would have a more even border. Really cute with the pompoms!!

What fun, and SO CUTE!! ❤️ I especially love the extra foam to make the top round. I wonder if you could pour some sand into the cans to make it more bottom-heavy, then seal the openings with a little duct tape? Also, if someone wanted to tuft the top, you could add a screw through the finished hassock into the center can and hot-glue on a covered button. So many fun possibilities! (PS with the way your scissors were acting on the fabric, might be time to sharpen 😁) (also, hassock is a real word, but autocorrect was determined to say it was a haddock hahahahaha 🐟 )

My mother-in-law made us one of these for us 56 years ago. She made it out of corduroy and it is still in good condition. We used it for footstool and booster seat for our 3 children. Now I want to make a few for my great grand kids. I love watching you and all of your content. I have learned so much.

Oh Mary…you are loved! You bring so much joy to my life. I love your crafts, upcycles, recipes and the kindness you bring to your videos. Today’s video was so my alley. My grandparents were immigrants from Norway. I’m 54 now and I really try to bring as many memories as I can from them into my boys lives and now my grandkids. This touched my heart and now I want to pick another thing from my Norwegian history as I can. Have always wanted to learn Hardanger and Rosemaling. We shall see. God Bless kiddo. 🤗
