Apparently some have been found but can’t be released yet due to them being owned by collectors
We did, They've found a few missing episodes but the owners are refusing to give them to the BBC.

I am 60 plus. I grew up watching these shows. It was wonderful watching a show were the Hero didnt jump of building or shoot things up, just used his wits and brains. How terribly British.
I still remember the news being broken! A few months later after the DVDs had been released, I travelled down by coach to see my now-ex. I brought a portable DVD player along with me. Now normally, I have to watch Classic Who in chunks of episodes because my attention span usually doesn’t cut it for watching TV for long periods.
But I got so into Enemy of the World that when it ended two-and-a-half hours after I started watching it, I hadn’t moved. I was still sat there, eyes fixated on the screen. The only other Classic Who serials to get that “honour” from me were the brilliant Inferno and the fantastic Remembrance!
Web of Fear didn’t hold the same attention for me on the journey back, something is missing from that serial for me. It *should* appeal to me, as I love a lot of the UNIT serials, but Web is missing something.
Ah Enemy of the World is such amazing story. Considering it was ranked low before being found, it’s now high in the ranks
Having been just shy of 10 years since this last discovery, we've had the longest drought yet for missing episode discoveries. It was originally 8 years..... now 10!
i hope that eventually all the missing episodes will be found, and the series completed
Not happening, sadly. Even ignoring Feast of Steven, it strains credibility that the other 96 could be all out there.

It would have been a complete two stories recovered but with episode 2 swiped and stolen. The Web of Fear is still incomplete.
That is something they did not mentioned.
It would be great if they could find some lost Hartnell episodes; such as the complete episode four of “The Tenth Planet”, or the remaining episodes of “The Celestial Toymaker” (considering that he’s in the 60th anniversary specials).

I was in the middle of my first Who phase when these episodes were rediscovered and this whole thing sparked my love for lost media.
The main thing I'd use a time machine for is getting all these missing episodes. They'd just turn up on the BBC's doorstep to be restored and shared for everyone, especially cause most fans today have plenty of episodes we literally can't ever watch till they're found, if they ever will be 😂
But that won't happen lol, however... If it did 👀
I'd grab hundreds of 2-inch quad videotapes, travel back in time and switch them with the original tapes the episodes were recorded on before they were wiped for reuse. Then the BBC engineers would think they'd wiped the actual tapes when they're actually tapes that were already blank lol Then not only would every episode be recovered, but also in their original formats and true picture quality as opposed to film telerecordings. I'd do the same with Pertwee episodes as many of them only exist in other formats too.
Sadly, no more missing episodes have been returned since. There's recently been rumours of more episodes found, but the owner apparently won't hand them over. I honestly don't read into all that til they officially announce the episodes are back in BBC hands as I don't like being given false hope.
Must say this is fantastic at that time of showing this now there must be some more missing clips of Doctor Who that are hidden away in someone's loft or possibly even for some strange reason in a private collection, and possibly where ways to copy film videos via another camera onto video from a different location I read this once, some filming done by copying through a camera feed say from a projecting it on a while curtain. This was pretty open to bad copying, though?
Just wondering how many episodes of the doctor who series have vanished without trace or broadcasted and scripted have been really formed in tracked? And were any of them filmed over or sent over seas to Canada as well after years to find only these few.

Laughable...Dick Fiddy - just woken up to the fact that missing BBC episodes exist in foreign archives. Who gave him a job for the BFI? I knew about the missing episodes in foreign locations over 40 years ago as an eleven year old.
Going there and getting them is the hard bit.

Unfortunately could see the images in this whole video. When I scrolled across the video at the bottom with my finger there were images but not when I let go. Audio only. Weird!

A lot of classic Doctor who was junked (burnt) in the mid 70s to make room for new tv shows 🙂
BBC Enterprises strongly believed there was no audience for any old shows and it would cost too much in terms of paperwork and payments to anyone involved in the shows to not be worth doing. When I was told that I left the BBC. @@Mr.DWHO96
Missing episodes happen when film reels have been wiped & originals are found in various places in the world
Film reels were burnt. The films were of Video Tapes that were wiped for reuse.@@peggyerickson2549
I know it sounds absolutely mad, but before VCRs, the BBC did not think there would be a need to keep and archive their television shows.
all false there are no more missing episodes or at least 1 would have turned up for the 60th. those clowns who kept saying something is coming back won't be able to show their face in public again-no one will believe them
Dammt, I got all excited there for a minute
