Wow. This could be the answer to my dilemma. Need a grapple occasionally but my Kubota does not have a quick release attachment for my bucket. I look forward to learning more about this attachment. Thanks for sharing.
How about making a video on installing the hydraulics to the 3rd function control of tractor to the cylinder on grapple ? That would be very helpful for everybody installing this. Thx
You skipped right to an already clamped grapple. I wished you would have shown the measuring and wood spacers and clamping. That is the part I am at, trying to do by myself and struggling with figuring out how high to mount the cross bar. Also, how do you extend the cylinder without being hooked to hydraulics? i unhooked the cylinder since I don't have hoses yet and everything too loose. Basically it looks like you skipped over the toughest part of install.
I’ve been interested in these grapples I have TLB it’s similar to the terramite of you heard of those. It’s pretty powerful but I’ve been wondering if a 3rd function kit would work, I’m fairly confident it would because to have a grapple would be useful on my property.
Hi Tractor Mike! You said to align the teeth of the grapple about an inch inside the bucket. Could it be installed so the teeth are just outside? Maybe so they have a bit of an overbite and drop below the cutting edge? I was thinking that might help grab things that are flat to the ground, but there might be a good reason they said to align it inside of the bucket. I'm not far from Sedalia, do they allow local pickup? I priced one on your site, but $215 to ship it, yeesh!
I'm not completely sure the angle of the grapple will allow the teeth sticking out past the bucket. I think that would depend on your bucket. There are literally thousands of different loader bucket designs so it would be difficult to predict. I guess if you moved the whole thing forward and maybe tilted it down it would work. Gonna have to think about that for a while, I'd bet it could be done. On the pick up...absolutely! I can do a manual invoice and then you can pick it up at the factory. Just e-mail me at mike@asktractormike.com which model you want with your name, address and phone, and I'll shoot you an invoice and help coordinate pick up. The guys at Sedalia are super easy to work with and they can drop an Add-A-Grapple in the back of your truck and get you on the way in no time. I apologize for the high freight. I've noticed that if you're close to the origin the rates are higher than they should be and if further away, they can be cheaper than expected. Don't have a clue why that is, and have no control over it.
I have a couple questions. Can you still reach your chain hooks and use them on top of the bucket? If you didn't have chain hooks should you mount the grapple frame lower to the bucket?
It gets a little tight. If I had it to do over I would have mounted two, instead of three, hooks and would have placed them halfway between the center and the ends of the bucket. Then you can have your hooks and the Add-A-Grapple at the same time. Truth be known, I almost never use those hooks. Most everyone else uses them all the time, but if I have something to lift the pallet forks are the tool of choice.
Pretty much a waste of money. How you gonna pick stuff up when the grapples are inside the bucket and the sides of the bucket stick out past the grapples. Grapple buckets dont have sides for a reason.
I like the idea of an Add-A-Grapple. Can't wait to see you put it to work.
Thanks Mike! Just in time. I am installing mine this weekend. Nice to have a video as a guide.

Looks like it's gonna workout good for you. Goes on really easy👍 interested in seeing how it performs.
I have a new tractor. Plan to get the bucket next year. This is just what I need, if it is a well made item

No lock nuts or washer? I'd use a little blue Loctite (or equivalent) on those bolts to keep them tight.
Thanks Mike that’s a good idea
Mike when is video coming out of you using this

Nice job...but weres your cutting oil for the drill bits...lol
Man you have some old drills. :-)
Old = good :).
How about hooking up the hydraulics?

Dang Mike, how old are those drills? ;)
They've been passed down through generations. I won't be updating :).

@@TractorMike Thanks. How about my second question about mounting the grapple lower if you didn't have hooks?
I'm gonna sit in my chair. Run my mouth, and have some beers and maybe it will install itself.
Mike, do they make those for sub compact tractors?
Dale, they sure do...asktractormike.com/product/single-add-a-grapple-for-sub-compact-tractors/
This cool but I don't have a fel
This video feels unfinished, I have so many questions. Would've loved to see it attached and demonstrated in the video.
No worries, he said use demo will be a separate video.
