Yeah lol if it wasn’t clear enough Takeru is still immature, but like he said people can’t completely change overnight, so it’s easy to understand why he still jumps to conclusions despite finding his resolve. As for the whole ship of Theseus thing it is interesting as humans ourselves replace and renew our bodies every 7-10 years. The caveat to that though is that our brains largely stay the same throughout our lifetime. At the end of the day our brains are basically all “we” really are, and though it’s a bit morbid our bodies are just fleshy mech suits. However in Sumika’s or the 00 unit’s case none of her is biological. She’s all machine. So then is she really the same person since the brain was replaced too? It’s an interesting philosophical question, but it largely depends on what you determine as a “self”.
Fingers crossed that Takeru finally matures fully by the end of the series. It definitely is an interesting discussion, I feel like I could chat about all day but like most philosophy it usually just comes down to a person's preference on the answer.
