This is how Pawn Shops work. I have been dealing with them for more than 20 years(I buy, I don't pawn or sell) and they need to buy at 50% at the most for lower valued items and then after waiting three months for it to clear with the police. If it has been reported as stolen to the police, then the shop has to turn over the property to them because it is stolen property and cannot legally be sold by the shop. If that happens then the shop loses any money that had been paid out to the seller.
U know Rick is very interested in something once he’s says “it’s going to sit for a very long time” or “it going to take up a lot of space in my shop” lol
Kunzite isn’t exactly easy to sell in the best of cases... The main problem is, even if the stone is worn at night, it will still eventually fade from other UV light sources. It is also quite soft, so abrasions/wear can be an issue too.

“I don’t know why he needs to see an expert? Doesn’t he trust me that it’s real?”
Said every sly guy ever
GameStop and Rick are like the same.
Something rare and expensive?
*"I'll give ya nickel, but that's the highest I'll go."*
Pawn guy: how about 9 grand
Customer: 15 grand
Pawn guy: ok 5 grand
the actual price is 16 grand
-.- If I was his father I would disown him for selling that Gem.
He probably found it in one of his used cars, that is Davey Deals
“I just have to do another test-“
*It’s a kunzite.*
Until now I had never heard of kunzite
Thought it was a cuntzite
I swear that Rick's go-to excuse for low-balling somebody is always "It's going to sit for a long time."
Somewhere between 9 and 16,000.
The equivalent of “Officer, he was between 5’5” and 7’10”
Hardly. Both are retail prices. It's not mounted. Anyone interested will expect to pay the low end as a loose gem with the intention of putting it in some kind of setting. It's way too big for a ring, which would have been the easiest way to resell it. It's not going to fly out the door.
oltedders obviously it's not gonna fly out the door.......it's not a bird
oltedders or an aeroplane
oltedders and it doesn't have wings
oltedders unless it drank a can of redbull, then you'd be eating your last words 😂
😂😂😂😂😂 6k for a family heirloom that was priceless, his grandmother turning in her grave 😭😭😭😭😭😭
He could've sold that somewhere else & made more $$
But then he wouldn't be Pawn Stars famous
II Jerry also it was a paid actor and was a fake prop.
They rip offs
Thats with anything on the show
II Jerry or mount it on something else and sell it Bigger. they will sell that stone for $20,000 🤦🏻♂️

"Rare gem worth $15000"

After negotiations, I'll offer $.50

It’s an evening stone, no one likes the evening. $49 best I can do.
48$ actually since I'll have to frame it
$47 actually since I have to polish it
$46 actually because I'm stubborn
$45 because I have to drive to pick up the frame
$44 since I need gas money.
Lol I was going to say that these CEOs constantly jump jobs but you said it at the start. Its rules for the workers but not for them.
Well I certainly wasn’t expecting the professional to be here👍
He looks like if Tony Stark gave up when General Rhodes took his suit
You deserve more likes. He looks like the comic stark.
Rick: “Ehh look the best I can do for this rare gem is around $5000, I’m taking a big risk here.”
Davey: “Your offer is in an insult to the Pez Community.”
Him : it’s a family heirloom
His Gambling Addiction: Sell it , Sell it

A rock that you cant use... Or 6500 that you can put towards something. Even if it is gambling. Il take the 6500
3:34, the guy actually said " please" LMAO! 😂
“dont make fun of my picture” lmao thats so mee
Adam Sandler “This thing from Ethiopia is worth over a million”
Rick “Best I can do is $1,000, taking a big risk here”
I'd laugh if just before the guy leaves the store he sees rick putting it in one of the cabinets with a $15000 sign next to it.
"Sometimes they win, sometimes I Win"
keep dreamin buddy. You never win against the pawn shop.
Gemologist: “when Rick walked into my office I got pretty excited because I’m always stuck here by myself doing nothing!”
Customer: I can't think of a comment. Rick: The best I can do is copy and paste the same comment.
You could do that but you're taking a huge risk here
And even with the copy and paste.... you're probably taking a big risk and it's just gonna sit in the comment section for a long time
@Nautilee Wind I know very little about this comment section ......let me call a buddy of mine to come over and read your comment first....before we talk big money
EXPERT : looking at these comments and testing the authenticity of them, I'd prolly say the comment is around a few hours to a minute old and genuine. If rick can make this deal happen i might be happy to steal the comment from him.
@Nautilee Wind
I love how Rick always acts like hes getting screwed over
Family heirloom, been in my family for generations
“Hey! Lets sell it at a pawn shop!”
Seems like a fantastic idea
Yes. Money is more important.
I literally burst out laughing when rick said 5 grand and the camera showed the silence and shock on Davey's face.
*$9,000 - $16,000*
*5 Grand*
Economics is tough. One day
You act like its gonna fly off the shelf and not just gonna take up space for a very long time. More expensive stuff, unless super rare collectables with an active community, may go for a fuckton of money but will most likely be there for ages before the right buyer comes by. If you doubt this play warframe and get into riven trading
@Steven Enno Actually unlike most things pawnshops are expected to pay a a FAIR price on gem stones and precious metals because their price is based differently
Yes but he needs to mount it, its a big gem and its gonna cost a lot of gold, also because its a big gem he needs a bigger space, its also probably a bit heavy too, so he needs to make sure to buy a big table to sit It on thats also made of gold, so in total, the gold mount and the gold table he will need to display it will cost Rick about a MILLION dollars, hes taking a huge risk here.
Weren't you listening? He got to mount it on something..
I would never ever ever pawn a family heirloom money isn’t everything :(
Yea but you aren't in Las Vegas, with a gambling addiction. Nothing means more to a gambling addict than it's value in cash.
How's that junk drawer? I bet you need to clean your house up. Garbage isn't an heirloom
Yes it is
Money IS everything..... foh
Families arent everything either...some
FAMILY HEIRLOOM*
SELLS IT AT A PAWN SHOP 😅
Owner of Complex: Your electricity bill is $900
Rick: best i can do is $250
He’s gotta make money on it
Its good to see he didnot call his buddy to check the kunzite
Well, he has an in-house gemologist, so there’s no need
beware of thanos, hes coming along with squidward.
This guy looks like he walks into a casino and has the worst run of his life he jus has that look 😂
I cant imagine taking a family heirloom, handed down through generations, to a pawn shop.
Davie: I’ll sell it for 15 grand.
Rick: I’ll buy it for 5 thousand.
Barbara: I have no idea how I ended up in Vegas and for that reason, I’m out.
Says it’s worth, Between $9,000 and $16,000
Rick best I can do is $5,000.
Why don't you buy it?
deathbydevice maybe if the man came to me instead of the pawnshop I would. I’d still give him what Rick did tho haha
"c'mon man, be reasonable."
*is trying to undersell him by at least 3,000 dollars*
I don't like Davey's character. Something feels really off and bad about him.
agree
Just a bad actor.. also what if the gemologist was in on the scam lol
He is a used car salesman. Pretty self-explanatory why you feel the way you do.
Do they refer to the guy as "dirty Dave" I refer to him as dodgy Dave.
Rick always comes at them with it's gonna sit for a long time & probably ends up selling it the week later for it's actual value 😂😂😂
I don't know how many people are going to come in looking for that so he's right.
Kunzite isn’t exactly easy to sell in the best of cases... The main problem is, even if the stone is worn at night, it will still eventually fade from other UV light sources. It is also quite soft, so abrasions/wear can be an issue too.
Cop pulls Rick over for speeding...
Cop: that’s a $500 fine
Rick: best I can do is $100
Cop:ok deal
And i'm taking a big risk here

Best rick line: Its gonna sit for a long time.
oh look i have this family heirloom that’s been held for generations
let me pawn it off for $4.16
My uncle pawned off my mom's gold and class ring years ago. By the time my mom found out (she seen the pawn receipt) the gold had already been melted down by the new buyers.
@TC Gamer true, no one cares
It was 6500
Thanos: *walks into the pawn shop*
Thanos: “I have all of the infinity stones”
Rick: “Best I can do is $15 and not a penny more”
Copy much?
"10 grand? No! Please?" That killed me!
Expert: it’s worth 20,000
Customer: I will take 18,000
Rick: the best I can do is 100 bucks
"This has been in my family for generations and generations. It was entrusted to me. I'd rather have cash for me weird doll fetish than a gem." - Guy in 2019.
You put it into an infrared spectrometer, get a spectral graph, and then there is no question whatsoever what it is. Refractive index does not prove identification. Hundreds of minerals can have the same refractive index.
I love how dude just pulled a 15 grand pricetag out of thin air
Something worth 1 million dollars
Rick: Then best I can do is a piece of dirt, and I'm taking a huge risk here
*Rick laughing sounds in the background*
Rick wouldn't offer a piece of dirt for something worth one million dollars. He would offer $200,000 to $600,000. Stop being a buffoon.
Trixster Million bruh, it’s a joke, a meme, get a life
This is the stone Thanos has been looking for all along.
It does sorta look like the power or soul stones, doesn't it?
The Collector:. I have this stone which can obliterate this entire planet with one stroke.
Rick:. Let me call a buddy to see if it's real and what it's worth.
*In walks Thanos *
Baby groot running in n go go gadget arms grabs it n runs on the strip
He got taken. Gemstones, the larger they are, they’re exponentially more expensive because of how rare they are. They don’t just sell at a per carat basis lol.
