    I’ve been cold composting for 30 years. It always amazes me that I made dirt!! My compost is behind a retaining wall so it’s hidden from sight.

    I love composting. Knowing I’m helping my soil and the environment is satisfying. I built my compost bins by attaching wood pallets together. Very sturdy and works well in containing the debris. I also do cold composting but in fall my bins are so full that my husband and I will take the time to dig out the larger stuff, pass a mulching lawn mower on it while bagging it and then throw it back in bins. It not only speeds up the process but can reduce the space needed by half. I have so much debris during fall cleanup all the space I can get helps.

    Black gold is the best! I'll be harvesting some of my compost soon as well. I love putting it down this time of year. Also, we have a ton of leaves falling which will be a great addition for next year's compost pile. 🍁🍂

    Hi, I thought this video was great, as it confirmed to me that I am doing OK when I make compost. As my method is almost the same as yours. 😊😊😊

    I really appreciate this video on composting! Would like to see more. I think mine is ready to be harvested for the first time but the SPIDERS scare me away LOL. Wondering what I can do to lessen the spiders and webs?

      It’s hard to get rid of all spiders in compost, but a good spray of water will clear the webs and maybe make it a little less scary.

    Beautiful compost. Do you generally put it on all your beds in the fall?

      I wish I had that much. I just put it where I think it is needed the most.

    What do you do with the weed seedheads?Throw them out? Or do you have another spot you don’t care about weeds?

    • @Suburbanoasis
      @Suburbanoasis  Месяц назад

      Personally, I just throw them in my way back compost where I don't care. You can just bag them into the trash otherwise.
