Team work - I love it! This was interesting to watch. I honestly thought you were done laying the mulch the first time around until I saw your husband with another load. This was good to see - so thank you for the visual of the entire process. Can't wait to see what you do with your new space.
Fantastic job on your new planting bed! So much fun to watch. That’s a lot hard work that went in to this project and it’s going to be so worth it. Many thanks for sharing your thoughts on this process and why it works so well for your garden. Great information! 👌🪴🥰
Timely video. I have some shrubs in the front lawn and am thinking they really would look good connected by a bed. I love stones as well. I wanted to tell you that the Thermacill mosquito repeller really works well. It emits a smoke that keeps them away. I use it all summer. It's a life saver. You just turn it on and put it in the area you are working in. Thanks for the great video!
Awesomeness! This was a great video! I love rock boarders in the garden! This is my dream design as well. Thanks a million for showing the possibilities of it all.
Great start to a new bed!! Looking forward to the planting process!! Please do share that with us also!! I’m getting ready to start a new bed too and would love to see your plantings!! ❤
Wow a drone picture was so cool to see it overhead. It would be cool to see the whole property from above. I loved this video. What a great idea and definitely a great addition to that corner of your property.
Soleil: Dyou happen to know what conifers there are, across the street, that are all golden/yellow? I'm dying to know what provides such color! Thank you for showing us your complete no-dig process -- that was marvelous. Can't wait to see this bed in a year.
Thank you for such a great video Soleil, I really loved seeing the whole process. The drone shots were also very beautiful! You have inspired me move forward and create more garden space! ❤️Gail
That’s what I’m thinking about doing! Breaking my straight line gardening I’m into curving landscaping it looks like I put some thought into my garden. Wow string trimming the grass! Thanks for sharing this information Awesome!
So interesting! I've been wanting to try this. Can you show the progress of the composting? Maybe once a month show us how it's coming along and what you look for to know if it's ready or not
Cutting in a new garden bed is always so satisfying 😆 Was nice to see how you’re doing the no-dig-I’m going to be adding a large bed soon and was thinking of doing the same process, but I’m wanting to add some garden soil on top of the cardboard, then mulch on very top. Do you know if that method works, too??
Soleil, this looks beautiful! I hope you can wait for a few months lol. being the gardener and the love of plants you have. I know it will be hard. it would be that way for me. i did the cardboard last year underneath my mound of clay dirt. I have to make raised bed on my property dud to when it rains there are big puddle that sit, we are on a wooded lot. so this year I am going around to those garden bed and turning all that clay soil and mixing in horse anure and tree chips from cutting down a tree. boy was that hard work! (clay is so hard) and so i see where you just added mulch. i am wondering how that works when you plant your shrubs and things, and will you dig down low into the dirt enough to put your new plants in. does this make sense? hahahah or will you just plant in the mulch. very interesting. Do you think the shredded mulch breaks down just as good as the kind you have. I normally don't use mulch but after watching your vidios I see it so good for moisture, weeds and the look. I used to always just get out there and weed as things come up. but boy I am getting older and it's getting harder hahah. thanks so much for your vidios I have learned a lot from watching them. Your gardens are just beautiful! Genie : )
It's definitely and exercise in patience, Genie! It is a lot of work to get mulch down every year, but I wouldn't not do it because I swear otherwise I would be overgrown with weeds! 😉🪻🌿🏵
I'm interested in your project. I tried covering grass with cardboard last fall to kill grass. The cardboard is still not completely broken down. Maybe my cardboard wall too thick?
Actually I'm also going to create a similar bed on my sod. I have composted horse manure, can I use manure for my flower bed? I will put plants in next spring. Do I need to add mulch as well? Zone 6B, Kentucky. Thanks
The breakdown on the brown bags will be about a month, but I will try to avoid planting for two months at least. Best if I have patience until fall. 😄🌸🌲🪴

You're such a great teacher.
My back hurts just watching 😵🤕🌼🌳

Thanks, Granny! 🙂🌸🌷💮
Looks great! Can’t wait to see what you do with it
I knew the way to make a bed like you just made. I learned this way over 12 yrs ago through my Master Gardener training. Thanks for videoing though.
Soleil: Dyou happen to know what conifers there are, across the street, that are all golden/yellow? I'm dying to know what provides such color! Thank you for showing us your complete no-dig process -- that was marvelous. Can't wait to see this bed in a year.
I thought they looked like forsythia's lol
Yes, those are false mophead cypress. I have some in my garden but have kept them small through trimming so far, but they get really big. 🥰☘️⚘️🪻
Thank you for such a great video Soleil, I really loved seeing the whole process. The drone shots were also very beautiful! You have inspired me move forward and create more garden space! ❤️Gail
Have fun with the process, Gail! 🤩🌼🌿🪻
Looks so nice! Perfect for us rock lovers! I just added a bed with some boulders in my front yard!
Looks fantastic! A feature rock at the end would look nice for for texture. 🌿🪨🌳

Thank you, glad you found it helpful 😀🌸🍁🪴
Looks wonderful!
This was great to see from start to finish. I've always loved your rock borders and wondered where you found the rocks. It looks great.
Thank you! Cheers! 😍🪴🌻🌸
Looks great. Thanks for the video.
So interesting! I've been wanting to try this. Can you show the progress of the composting? Maybe once a month show us how it's coming along and what you look for to know if it's ready or not
I will try to remember, it hasn't rained much so the progress will be slower than normal but expect or hope to plant some this fall.. 😉🌸🌷🪷

Definitely, have done it that way as well in the past! 🤗🌸🌼💐
Love the new garden & process! We think the same way…lol. Your videos are always helpful, well done & beautiful. Thank you
Thanks so much, Becky! 🥰🌸🌷🌹

So nice work). I like to see process;-).
This year I made a frame of heart and aircrafts can see my love to them)))
Looks great!
Your lawn grass is also very beautiful . Is it Zoysia?
The lawn is just a blend of Perennial rye Kentucky blue and who knows what mixed in. 😄🌼🍀🌸
How would you put in plants in there if the paper bag are underneath.
The paper bags will compost in place and then I can plant. 🙃🌺🏵🌷
I'm interested in your project. I tried covering grass with cardboard last fall to kill grass. The cardboard is still not completely broken down. Maybe my cardboard wall too thick?
Did you use water? It is an essential element to the composting process. 🥰🌷🌿🪻
Hi Nice work! Did you plant in this bed? Or you are going to wait some time?
It's just ready to plant now. 🥰🪴🌸🌼
Actually I'm also going to create a similar bed on my sod. I have composted horse manure, can I use manure for my flower bed? I will put plants in next spring. Do I need to add mulch as well? Zone 6B, Kentucky. Thanks
Where did you get your rocks?
These were from a farmer. 🙃🌸🌼💐
How long will this process take? When do you think you’ll see results?
The breakdown on the brown bags will be about a month, but I will try to avoid planting for two months at least. Best if I have patience until fall. 😄🌸🌲🪴
