    Team work - I love it! This was interesting to watch. I honestly thought you were done laying the mulch the first time around until I saw your husband with another load. This was good to see - so thank you for the visual of the entire process. Can't wait to see what you do with your new space.

    Timely video. I have some shrubs in the front lawn and am thinking they really would look good connected by a bed. I love stones as well. I wanted to tell you that the Thermacill mosquito repeller really works well. It emits a smoke that keeps them away. I use it all summer. It's a life saver. You just turn it on and put it in the area you are working in. Thanks for the great video!

    Cutting in a new garden bed is always so satisfying 😆
    Was nice to see how you’re doing the no-dig-I’m going to be adding a large bed soon and was thinking of doing the same process, but I’m wanting to add some garden soil on top of the cardboard, then mulch on very top. Do you know if that method works, too??

    Soleil, this looks beautiful! I hope you can wait for a few months lol. being the gardener and the love of plants you have. I know it will be hard. it would be that way for me. i did the cardboard last year underneath my mound of clay dirt. I have to make raised bed on my property dud to when it rains there are big puddle that sit, we are on a wooded lot. so this year I am going around to those garden bed and turning all that clay soil and mixing in horse anure and tree chips from cutting down a tree. boy was that hard work! (clay is so hard) and so i see where you just added mulch. i am wondering how that works when you plant your shrubs and things, and will you dig down low into the dirt enough to put your new plants in. does this make sense? hahahah or will you just plant in the mulch. very interesting. Do you think the shredded mulch breaks down just as good as the kind you have. I normally don't use mulch but after watching your vidios I see it so good for moisture, weeds and the look. I used to always just get out there and weed as things come up. but boy I am getting older and it's getting harder hahah. thanks so much for your vidios I have learned a lot from watching them. Your gardens are just beautiful!
    Genie : )

    • @Suburbanoasis
      @Suburbanoasis  Год назад

      It's definitely and exercise in patience, Genie! It is a lot of work to get mulch down every year, but I wouldn't not do it because I swear otherwise I would be overgrown with weeds! 😉🪻🌿🏵

      The breakdown on the brown bags will be about a month, but I will try to avoid planting for two months at least. Best if I have patience until fall. 😄🌸🌲🪴
