My rocks in my border sink & I wind up lifting them and smoothing out the dirt and adding paver base, tamping and reinstalling every few years. It's getting to be a chore as I get older.
This video was very helpful. I create an edge with a shovel. It’s usually pretty easy to keep it cleared. The guy who mows my lawn helps with the trimming.
The Q&A was awesome! Thanks so much. Always enjoy them. I referred your channel to a friend the other day They just bought a new place. There's a very neglected front yard garden that they want to redo. I suggested that they watch your channel. Have a good day!
I really just put down brown paper bags or cardboard or mulch. Here is a video of establishing a new garden bed I did; ruclips.net/video/cgiMb1E4mGw/видео.html
I enjoyed your question and answer video, especially where you sat. Lightning was good and the colors around you were pleasing as I watched. Most of my garden is new, so I enjoy how mature yours is (John)
Thank you so much for this info. I wonder if you do a video on the type of pots you have. ceramic, resin. etc.. what is considered frost hardy. I have big pots that are made of plastic I am just not sure if they can handle the winter frost. Maybe show how you winterized them if you do anything to them. Thank you so much showing how to edge. I have crab grass and it is very hard keep out of my gardens.
Loved the Q and A! I was inspired to garden by my grandmother also. i wish you would explain how you trim your Clematis and how you get it neatly onto a trellis. I seem to be all thumbs at this skill and your pink mink were gorgeous this year!
@@Suburbanoasis I enjoy all your videos, and I so appreciate that you say at the beginning of each video your gardening zone........you have beautiful gardens!
I have laid interlocking bricks around my garden….what I did was dig the sod out and poured dry cement in the dug out trench all around the garden. Then I laid the bricks down one at a time and leveled each brick with the previous one. After all are laid, I piled a mound of dry cement on the INSIDE of the bricks to support them. The last step was to lightly spray water over everything. Let it set and the next day lightly spray again. It is surprising how solid the bricks become in just a couple days. After 3 years, the bricks are still as solid and never moved.
Great q&a Soleil. I have gotten a lot of my rocks Soleil from Facebook marketplace. Along with garden decor and pots. My husband tells me to stay off marketplace…. Lol your garden is great and all your information. 👩🏻🌾🌼🌿☀️💚
That was very heipful. Hope you will consider doing one of these videos again. Really liked the demonstration of how you keep weeds out of the border. Just wondering if I tried this, being a newbie, if I would set my mulch on fire. What do you think, likely?
Usually that just means there is something breaking down and there is enough moisture for mushrooms. Fall is a great time to move plants around, I usually wait until September.
This was a really great video Soleil! When I see a super garden that is healthy, lush and well managed, I always have questions!! I enjoyed watching the demonstration showing how you control your rock borders. They look so well maintained. Thanks so much!❤️👍Gail
This was really helpful. I hope you'll do it again.
Oh wow! I never would’ve guessed a blow torch was involved?! Also never have even seen a blow torch used for weeding. Very cool!! ❤❤❤

Of course it's helpful to do question and answer
At age 9, planted three trees together with my father: a Camellia tree, Yellow Maple, and Blue Spruce.
Love that!

They are fun!

I got it off Amazon!

I really enjoyed question and answer video. I have 2 questions. Mushrooms in the lawn? Is bad or good. When is a good time to move plants around?
Usually that just means there is something breaking down and there is enough moisture for mushrooms. Fall is a great time to move plants around, I usually wait until September.
Could you post a link for the torch? Ty
Posted in the description for you.
