Starting in the spring of 2020, every evening at 7:00PM, New Yorkers clapped, cheered and banged pots and pans in support of the healthcare workers fighting to save lives. This holiday season, in tribute to their bravery and resilience, Montefiore Health System brought together the Orchestra of the Bronx, Every Voice Choirs, Brooklyn United Music and Arts Program, and New Yorkers to show our gratitude to the healthcare heroes saving New York. I just saw this. I'm frontline healthcare, and it's been a really rough 2 years. I really appreciate the thought and care that went into this video. It means a great deal to be appreciated. Not only was the work soul grinding, but the backlash has been brutal. Thank you for recognizing the people who have served on the frontline.

Its so sad the change of events. One year we are giving tribute to healthcare workers and the next year they are being fired for standing up for liberty, my body my choice.

We lost our 24 year old son to Covid on 5/16/20 and the pain will always be there. He was such a well loved kid that even though there was no viewing, no mass, only a quick prayer outside of the church and then right to the cemetery over 100 cars were in the precession. When they were told only immediately family by the rules of the city their response was then come arrest us. This kid was run over while a person made a left turn and ran him over by jfk airport. Massive trauma and this kid fought back and I thought he was out of the woods until they moved him to a “Covid free” rehab hospital in which he caught Covid at and his body just couldn’t take anymore. We waited 16 days to bury him. I held the politicians on both sides of the aisle for failing us all. I served in the military and was a big part of manufacturing lifesaving medications during h1n1 and put in massive amounts of hours to save lives around the world with our medication from a well known pharma company. The healthcare workers and first responders are 100% heroes! Never forget that without them it very well could have been much worse. Just like you thank a vet for their service go and thank a healthcare worker the same! My wonderful Steven we love you and miss you every single day!

100 residents were under our care when the first wave hit. No one was vaccinated, a small number of our 'beautiful souls' passed. Once there was 1 positive case was confirmed, our facility went into lock down and it was like a completely different place to be. As an 'Aged carer' the worst part was not getting to say good by and give that little extra bit of love.... xxxxx 'When we had our special peeps' We thought we could have had the chance to send off with 'LOVE'.. Made me personally 'SAD'...

It's going to sound self-serving and selfish, but let me overshare here: ................... I was a college freshman when the songs " What's the Matter Here?" and " Don't Talk"....... I don't like to frame my late parents, or anyone really, by their faults or challenges, but i came from a home with a mother who struggled with n alcoholism and opiate addictions. My dad could be violent too, and it was really tough to have the space and distance to sort of liberate myself from that. ................. It was like a personal message, not to sound stalky or nuts, but it was like a private message to me that i had to help me cope and grow. That Tracy Chapman was part of that scene, only added to the soothing sense of freedom and perspective. ........................ Know, Ms. Merchant, that at the very least, you made many lives less difficult, and at the most, and the undeniable truth of it, you saved lives, maybe mine as one of the many.

That I Kayleigh Merchant is dear Natalie Merchants' distant cousin :) I've been listening to her so long and my music has been the truest harmony of genetics playing for generations. If you're reading this, you'll know how awkward this is and has felt like for years for me to introduce myself to you.

Thank you for this. COVID-19 is not over and the eye rolls one gets when you try to tell people that people still die from this is shameful. I needed this video so badly to remind me of the wonderful people who put their lives at risk. My father and I got covid for the first time in December 2023. We had a good run, but as everything in life all runs come to an end. My fathers life run came to an end in May. He never fully recovered from getting covid. The vaccines helped us remain covid free from 2021until the end of 2023. That is a blessing the medical community gave to us and I can never thank them enough.
