Oh my goodness I would love to have just one real blue one with green and some purple that would be cool I would make a necklace pendant out of it I would love that very much
I found you several months ago. when I was looking for examples of acrylic pour art. You do such beautiful work! I’m not sure why you’re so hard on yourself at times. Being from the States, it’s so much fun to see the birds and such that are native to your area. 💚 Thank you for letting us live vicariously. One day I will try acrylic pour. Your experience is definitely going to help. Have a blessed day. 💚
I've recently started to use resin as a medium and you've helped me tremendously!! I'd like to give you a trick I've thought of that's very helpful with bubbles! I use a heating pad under a plastic shower liner at my drying station and it helps tremendously!!! Thank you again!
Dominoes are a standard size. You can place the clear dominoes you have into the corresponding mold and pour a non transparent color in the back. Putting them into molds will protect the top and sides.
Those turned out lovely! I think maybe a UV resin would be a quick fix for those bubbles and maybe even doming the backs. The mold you're using looks like a standard size domino. Here's a quick tip for avoiding bubbles at the bottom of your molds: buy a misting bottle, the type used for hair or food that produces a very fine mist, fill with alcohol and mist your mold with it before putting in the resin. Pops bubbles before they get a chance to form.
Love these! So different! Another way to do the dots is with a ball dotting tool, just dip into paint and then into domino dot, comes out perfect every time, and much faster and easier. Then you can use UV resin the same way to lock in the paint on the domino dot with a UV light. Hope that made sense!
Really beautiful dominos. Really like that gorgeous shells! Maybe you can dome them if you put little bit resin on the back out of the mold and make sure that it’s not running out of the edges. 😍🤩
I have the blue mold, and tried your technique of coloring the dots with my chrome paint pen prior to pouring. It worked!! Just a few touch ups needed but I wanted to thank you for the idea :)
Julie, these turned out beautifully ! Love your idea of using the thin metal tipped bottle of paint to fill in the dots/lines. I had to walk away from my dominos earlier as I was making a colossal mess. I will follow your lead, that is, if I can locate my little funnels! Thanks for sharing.
BRAVO! On another set, I think I would crush the abalone shell gently (for random jagged shapes), sprinkle them in the mold, (skip the gold dust - too opaque) and just go with the dust that was more the colors of the abalone mixed with ALL of the resin. Not sure about the color of dots until they come out of the mold. Maybe black.
Gorgeous darling just gorgeous. Some of those larger Abalone pieces would make some really pretty pendants too and earrings! Probably be much easier for those smaller pieces to use UV resin... they're really the prettiest set of dominoes I've ever seen! If you do another set maybe you could use a pearl white or maybe you did maybe I missed that? For the backside to to bring it all together with the color of the abalone
These are as awesome as you...do you think putting clear resin in then adding the shells then the white resin would have preventing the air bubbles? Thanks for sharing this video
Gorgeous! Te reo Māori is easy to pronounce, once you know the trick. The vowels are ah, ey, ee, oh, oo. So (slowly): "pah-oo-ah". At normal speed it sounds like "pahwah". Every syllable ends in a vowel, and the only double consonants are ng (as in 'sing') and wh, which is (in most regions) a fairly soft 'f'. Kia ora from New Zealand!
Very beautiful. I was actually getting ready to make a set of double 12's, per my niece's request. Love the abalone shells in them. I'll definitely have to purchase some of those in the future. Thanks so much for sharing.

PAUA pronounced POW-AH. ☺
When I did my dominoes I used a dotting stylus for coloring in the lines and dots. It worked really well.

Awesome! You could also do the gold color a darker shade of blue/green that matches the abalone shells with gold dots. Classy dominos!

I would use a shimmery blue/blue green for the dots and lines - really lovely looking
Omg!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I never thought about seeing what other people had. I was going to make these! Awesome!
Beautiful just like everything you do.
I immediately went and purchased this double six mold. I was able to find a great quality for a good price. I can’t wait to make these, I’m in love.

Shells are beautiful. Black resin background would be so much better and make it much easier to play the game.
Oh wow!!! Incredible. Painting scrubs are a great idea
Wow, those are really cool! Very classy. Now you need to make a case to hold them. Beautiful job, Julie.

Gorgeous Dominoes. If you can find them the PICO Embellishers are great for the dots and lines on dominoes as are thin paint pens.
