I think these are dynamite! They are so pretty, and you don't need to master the art of alcohol inks to get the effect. I love the embellishments! It makes them that much more special! Thank you for this tutorial. I have watched a few of yours and find them very instructional. 😊
I do love smart "cheats"! Great lateral thinking here. Love it! I've done things with paper in resin too, not tried t hat marbled/ink effect paper though, that's fab
Brilliant!! Stunning = all of them, I will use your name for amazon. I just moved and everything is everywhere. I'll be back. Great teaching. Our schools need you! Our kids need you!
I have an idea to make resin coasters as gifts for some friends, having never used resin before in my life and this tutorial is by far the best I've come across so far! This is a great idea for beginners as you really only need some basics. Though as you skimmed over the part about the dome coat, I hope you go over it in more detail in another video! Right, I'm off to impulse buy supplies!
These little beauties are fabulous! I've not seen anyone who can pack more beauty into tiny spaces as well as you can. You are the queen of little spaces! Thank you for sharing this lovely artwork.
Yep you are saying it correctly...Abalone. Your imagination is amazing, you come up with some very creative ideas. Now I must immediately get some alcohol ink scrapbook paper! Of course you add gorgeous creative bits to make what is lovely, up several levels to be amazing! Beautiful work again, thank you for your videos! 👏🌟
Positively beautiful. Traditional resin artwork goes very fast, depending on the open time of the resin, and I don't get my artistic itch scratched long enough. You always show ways to stretch out the time creatively, so thank you for all you do, from the beginning to the end of your extraordinary tutorials. I just noticed that this is my second time around. While I thought it looked familiar, I did enjoy the return visit. I know I learned new procedures that I didn't recall. Thank you, again!
AMAZING.... You are such an inspiration. My little brain wheels are turning. I just love the technique and all the little extras make the flat paper come to life with dimension. I was thinking of a scrapbook floral that need some metallic additions. I want to do this on a tumbler. Nadia thank you so much for being such a inspiration for me in my art creations. Take care...hugs Sheryl 💙🎨💙
I just love this technique and the way you brought them to life. They are really beautiful! Thanks for that extra teaching how you can use paper in resin. Never thought it was possible! You Art is always amazing. 💖🥰
These are such a great idea! I'm not too good with the alcohol inks either, and these are such a great idea. I absolutely love how you bring in other elements to create something I would normally shy away from. Thank you Lia!
Another awesome technique. I haven’t been interested in the alcohol inks, but I would definitely try this version. I always love the different mediums you use, as well as the tips you share.
Wow these are just beautiful...thank you so much for experimenting and finding us other options. I love the alcohol ink look...but it takes awhile to achieve some decent looks. I just love those papers I'm going to order those. Thank you so much once again for your teachings. Always look forward to your interesting videos.
These are gorgeous 😍. Would you please consider starting to do discount codes for Australia too please 🙏 😊. I love your videos, your final pieces always are so classy and inspiring.
Thank you Rechelle! I think most of my discount codes for various vendors should work for you... the amazon ones are likely the only ones that are regionally restricted.
You are so amazing!! I love your videos and i just wanted to thank you for sharing this with us resin artist!! You are such an inspiration 😍♥️! I'm not missing any of your videos !
As always fabulous tutorial with many art ideas and new art techniques , so many new experience to learn , thank you very much for giving us so much more tu o explore, brilliant Love it
Another great video and also a great alternative to alcohol inks. I have used alcohol inks a few times but haven't achieved a look I was happy with. I see a lot of artists use them and again, some look really cool to me and sometimes it's just okay, imo. Not trying to bash them at all, just not a preferred medium for me. Love this paper idea though. You are excellent at thinking outside the box Nadia. I watch a lot of artists from Korea, Thailand etc and I see a lot of them make Pop sockets for the back of their phones. The size of these would be great for that, or even keychain charms or charms to hang on backpacks, book bags. They might be heavier than a standard or smaller keychain charm but you could use a glue-on bale on the back and resin it in with a dome coat as well. Thanks for another fantastic idea Nadia. Love it!!
Beautiful! I would have thought they were made with alcohol ink or resin pigments. Your embellishments were just the right touch. You didn't go overboard with the bling. By the way, you pronounced abalone correct, 🙂. If you think of a "soft a" followed by the word bologna, you got it. Thanks for the video, they really are gorgeous.
I may have missed this and if I did I apologize. I saw that you glued down the paper but what sealing, top, bottom and sides first? I thought you had to for paper or pictures?.Very creative thank you for sharing💗🙏🏼. Classic and elegance
I don't remember exactly (this video is from a while ago) ... it must've been either about using school glue to protect the bottoms when you're doing your topcoat/floodcoat (I prefer using liquid latex, but some people use school glue)... OR I could've said I don't like using glue under/ inside resin because it may yellow over time. Those are basically the only 2 times I talk about school glue😅
@LiaDia Designs I was looking online yesterday at JoAnn for a particular ribbon and I was the most beautiful ones for spring. Song were bright sheer spring colors and others were satin with flowers or butterflies. I thought of you immediately and was wondering have you ever done a big piece with ribbons?
I haven't worked with ribbons in resin yet... especially satin as their finish and sheen are very affected by liquids... but it may be a good experiment to try😊
Hi Natalie, i am loving the videos, but have a question about where you get the abalone pieces, I have tried to get them in Australia and am having trouble, as most stuff you talented people use in the usa/canada, some i can buy from online. So was wondering if i can buy the abalone online from where you buy it. Thanks Carol
Beautiful as usual. One question for you. Other resin artists use different types of resin for doming, flood coating, etc, do you use the same resin throughout your work?
Thank you!🥰 It depends ... some techniques requires different resins (thinner or thicker, faster setting or slower setting etc) and sometimes those resins do not have the scratch or heat resistance needed to be the final topcoat, so the artist will add a special doming layer for that reason. For the pieces I create, I generally only use 1 resin since I'm usually just creating a base and topcoat around my designs😊
I love your videos. You have given me so many ideas for my resin works. Quick question...is the gloss varnish a must or is there something else you can use on the paper? Possibly a spray lacquer or mod podge?
Absolutely GORGEOUS, but I am curious about two things: #1 What makes you decide to use the gold paint, which has a long drying time, vs using an acrylic gold paint pen, like Deco Color? #2 Why not just pour/paint a layer of resin on the bottoms to hold the two layers in place instead of worrying about the side drips & having to use/buy an additional product, like liquid silicone? Thank you! Stacie in the Youngstown, Ohio area
Thank you💖 answers to you questions: 1. The drying time is about the same for the gold varnish mixture I made as those markers. These mini coasters are very small and I wanted to have control to make super thin lines, which usually is a bit more difficult with the markers so i preferred a 00 brush... but you can definitely choose to use the markers in your pieces. 2. I don't think I understand your question.. there was a layer of cured resin already at the bottom of the molds before I added everything on top... and the reason for doing a full top/dome coat including the sides was explained in the video... so that there was a proper seal around the design and it wouldn't separate over time. Does this make sense? Maybe you can clarify the question?
Maybe but there's also a chance the paper would float, either the whole paper or even a portion on an angle...I prefer to know for sure that it'll stay in place
Great video, commentary and result as always. Your a wonderful teacher.
🥰 Thank you so much Mel - I appreciate you!
I totally agree with u.... she's awesome!
Going to try this with double sided paper, pour clean with light shimmer on top and bottom so they are reversible ❤ tysm for sharing
I've watched this video about 4 times and just realized I can use this same concept on a bigger project such as my resin notebooks! Thanks again!
🤩🥰yes absolutely!

I thought these looked good with just the gold but the embellishments added another level I wasn't expecting.
Great idea. Result looks great.

I did mention this in the video... it depends on your resin... for mine, I don't find that I need to seal my paper or pictures
Stunning !!
Question : can you use mod podge if you don’t have a varnish like that?
Thank you
I haven't personally tested mod podge, but I've heard it works
So pretty! I made trinket trays with a pretty vellum for a similar effect.
🤩🥰I'm sure they turned out beautifully
Love this idea. I am so not good at creating this type of alcohol ink art. Thank you
🤩🥰 I hope you get a chance to try it!💕
Gorgeous results.
FYI to easily remove the glue from the back, hit it with your heat gun and follow with a cotton bud dipped in alcohol.
🥰💖thank you for the advice😊... personally I think I still prefer the liquid latex
This is so beautiful, I want to try this!!
Love this technique.
Curious to know do you always use artist thin viscosity resin in your molds?
Very pretty, great idea ♥️
