I have one of these and something I have learned is that so much of the tone you are hearing in this video comes from the hands. You can really dig in and attack this bass and it never sounds harsh or abrasive, just more growly.

+Rick Thatcher Believe it or not it's mostly the Lakland. I've got one as wel and can hear the similarities. But this one sounds a bit muddy TBH. The playing is excellent though so it really don't matter. Mine is much more crystal clear. Like a Steinway piano playing right in front of you. But I switched my pickups to Nordy's. Like I said before tone is more for the Gearslutz but playing skills are for us players. The mass public listens to Rap/hip hop whatever now, so it's simple beats that you can shake your ass to that actually sell platinum nowadays. Don't get me wrong it's a fucking shame! Especially for cat's like this guy. It's a great jam he's got going on here. Wish I could get him into the studio throw some real drums on there, and some horns, backup guitars, and keys.
Hi Drew - Nice to see you here :) !! This is my first lakland 5502 This is the normal skyline series. Difference between Normal 5502 and the Deluxe version is a visual difference. I am currently using lakland deluxe version. You can listen to it on my other films ruclips.net/video/z5mnZmEUBbY/видео.html
Hello Michal, great performance and killer tone :)) Tell me which strings do you use for Lakland 5502? What are the best strings for that 35' scale according to tension? Thank you, best regards :)
Hello Bro!! :) Thank you for your comment ! I used strings in this video : Daddario EXL170-5 , but I often play also Ernie Ball SLINKY NICKEL ROUND WOUND 45-130 and Elixir 14202 Nanoweb 45-130 They sound great to me. Greetings !!
@@WrobelMichal Thank you friend, I also have Lakland 5502 with Bartolini (Korea 2002) I used to play on DR Hi beams, but they do not last long, now I am searching for other strings. Thank you for advice :)) Keep going, good luck :))

More bottom than Kim. Certainly make the tone your own.
