The Lakland really does a great job of being the most neutral and a great middle point for all those different instrument. They all sound different enough to own them all lol
The Musicman 🎶 is my favorite bass and number 1 choice 🎸. As a bass player, the MUSICMAN Stingray 5 string Dual HH bass guitar is great for any gig or event. A good bass rig preferably- 4x12's w/ a 18in subwoofer & a good bass head of your choice The LOWS on the Musicman will suffice!
They all sounded great and worked for the song. That said: 1. Musicman 2. Fender Jazz 3. Sadowsky 4. Lakland You just can’t go wrong with a Leo Fender design.
I went into this vid sure that the Lakland would be the, or among the, best. I was surprized to find that I preferred all the other basses over the Lakland, with the Stingray coming out on top.
Based only on audio from this video, it's the Musicman, Fender, Sadowsky, then Lakeland for me. However, they all sound good in the hands of a great player!
Cool demo, thanks. I think its worth remembering that the comp is - A NYC full fat Sadowsky £££££££ A US Stingray £££££ A US Fender (I think) ££££ A Lakland Skyline (Indonesian) £££ From a bang for buck its gotta be the Lakland.
Interesting comparison. Lakland, MusicMan and Fender sounded really good. I didn't care the Sadowsky. A little too much high end. I have a Lakland 44-02 so I am trying not to be biased. MusicMan maybe had a little more low end. And the Fender Jazz sounded like a Fender Jazz. And dude, fantastic playing! Thanks for sharing. Do you have a favorite?
Every bass is superb played and presented. The magic lays in the hands, for the biggest part. To be honset, if you can play, every bass is great. ( Personal taste: lakland + sadowsky!!!) The nuances get bigger, the more you play /record with the basses. My advice: Try them all under same curcumstances and sleep a night over it. Stay relaxed, have fun (!) and (train!) every day, the results are speakin for themselves. Keep the groove. 😊🎉❤
Listening to it with headphones opened the doors of understanding for me :))) Sadowsky the richest in terms of sound quality.Fender is Fender, a brand, one sound, there are no surprises.Stingray in my opinion, also rich but very concentrated on the mids, strangely it's what I liked least in the slap. Lakland.. what can I say? A surprise! It doesn't have the richness of sound of the Sadowsky, nor the peculiar characteristics of the Fender and the Stingray, but it seems to me that it can do everything well, especially with the "both pickups" configuration.
Alguien dijo una vez que la estetica del sonido del bajo electrico es una construccion cultural, por eso el P bass y el jazz bass serán siempre lo qué estará bien, todo lo demás a partir de ahí es una percepción individual y subjetiva. Saludos buen video.
My subjective modest analysis: Lakland provides a dense, balanced, and calm, level-headed tone. Musicman produces a dense sound with rich overtones and a massive presence. Fender offers a dense sound with rich overtones and versatile capabilities. Sadowsky features a thick, very rich overtone profile, creating a massive sound. All of the bass guitars presented are commendable in their own right, each boasting its unique sound. Thank you for the comparison. I have a question for everyone: among the showcased instruments, which do you find the most comfortable?
At 1st I thought it was no contest...then as you played on in different styles each bass's character started to show. My thoughts: 1. The Jazz sounds pretty bad when slapping. The Sadowsky also was surprisingly not that great. 2. That Lakland seemed to not have the best tone in each case, but to me, still sounded quite good in all cases. Best all around 3. When it came to articulation, the Sadowsky was really clear/cutting, and the low B was fantastic 4. It was amazing to me how good the Stingray was when slapping, I was quite surprised. 5. A Jazz bass on the bridge pickup sounds like you expect it to...which is a good thing...great for a session. 6. Your playing far exceeded the sound of the basses by all measures. Killer!
I can't get enough of this! I'm learning it now. You have given me the inspiration to pick up the bass and learn! Would you mind telling me where you got this backing track from?
Killer showcase with extremely tasty licks and groove. Personally felt the jazz didn't have as much clarity as the others in the mix, but you made them all sound great!
I like the Sadowsky and the Fender. Lakland will be my third option and the Music man is out. I've played it and it was the most heavy, unconfortable and hard to equalize bass ever.
I came for the basses, stayed for the music
Fo real
Yes, great playin..
Same...tasty AF
Me too!
And the beard 🤌
The Lakland really does a great job of being the most neutral and a great middle point for all those different instrument. They all sound different enough to own them all lol
Great video, The STINGRAY for me, that growl that you got out of it so quietly is amazing, what it’s known for.
The Lakland almost outdoes the Jazz at sounding like a Jazz! Great comparison!
Having owned a Skyline 5502 I wholeheartedly agree.
They have better B-string too being 35". Fender b-string really sucks. Even in their Ultra models.
I´ve suspected as much: it´s the JB for me. So happy to have a great JB again, after my 74 had to go some years ago. Great music man 😎
The Lakeland and Sadowski cuts through the best. Next would be the Fender Jazz. Surprisingly the music man last for me.
Probably maple neck will get more punchy sound, anyway I'm agree with you
Musicman & Fender!!! Sounds Great!!!
The tone is in the hands. Some players can make any bass sound amazing. 🤘🤘🤘
Fendet and Sadowsky are punchy. Loved them.
Lakland Skyline! I never tried one but I did not that they have a sound like this.
Form the time I heard this track - ruclips.net/video/ggPooXtzUD0/видео.html - I fell in love with Lakland Skyline. Now I have one.
I've got a Lakland Skyline 44-02, the 4 string version of what is played here, and it is a fantastic bass!
Great video and awesome playing. Thanks.
The Lakland and the jazz bass are my favorite ... Wow amazing groove by the way !!!!!!!!!!
Great playing!! In this context I like the Stingray and Jazz Bass!!
They all have their subtle differences. I really like the Jazz and the Sadowsky.
Yeah, that Jazz has that warm mid-range growl to it. That was actually the biggest difference between all of them to me.
I loved the low end on the Musicman
I think you would sound good with some old fish line on a broom. I got mesmerized. Well done!
All four basses sound great, and the playing is superb! If I had to choose just one, I would take the Sadowsky hands down.
35" B-string wins every time. You can't escape law of physics.
Fantastic playing! And what a collection. Each brings something really special to the table.
They all sounded great and worked for the song. That said:
1. Musicman
2. Fender Jazz
3. Sadowsky
4. Lakland
You just can’t go wrong with a Leo Fender design.
What a great track to play to demonstrate. Bravo Sir!
Dude, you have dialed in an amazing tone for every last one of them dam, you could make a Magnum sound that good, very nice, your skills show
Wow, awesome playing. Really great playing, the stingray surprisingly came out on top in this one followed by a close tie for 2nd.
THANK YOU
Dang man. All sounded great. But to me I gotta say the jazz bass really is my guy. That bridge pickup just speaks my language
I went into this vid sure that the Lakland would be the, or among the, best. I was surprized to find that I preferred all the other basses over the Lakland, with the Stingray coming out on top.
Jazz and Sadowsky.
Great groove and chops bro.
You need all of them obviously. I would pick the lightest one 🙂. Great playing !
Backing track is awesome. Didnt expect to like all of the basses, but the Fender sounded best to me.
all 4 sound so close; outstanding playing, sir!
So good your playing and your demo
Based only on audio from this video, it's the Musicman, Fender, Sadowsky, then Lakeland for me. However, they all sound good in the hands of a great player!
Não tem jeito, o Fender sempre na frente com seu som avelidado, mesmo sendo uma marca antiga mas não perdeu a majestade.
Awesome bass playing. I have a 5 strings bass too. But i'm not really good at it. Greetings from Montreal!
I love your cool play and beard👍
Great video. I’ll take all four! 😂
Lakland is top. My favorite.
Cool demo, thanks. I think its worth remembering that the comp is -

Great comparison, and outstanding performance!
Lakland Skyline 55-02 !!!!
It's a pleasure too watch your playing and to hear like you do it. Great! All the basses are incredible 🔥
@@АннаЧурсина-л5н thank you mate

Lakland for the win
nice playing, Musicman and Sadowsky are my favorite in this video
I couldn't even pay attention to the tone, the playing was so sick
They all great sound I’d like to try a Lakland ,, can you do another video comparing a ken smith, fodera and Tobias ??
Yeahman, in the summer I am preparing comparing video pf Superb Smith x Fodera x Fbass and the fourth will be Sadowsky or MTD
They all sound great but i have to say that the Fender sound its fantastic in all pickup configurations
Hello Roger, nice to meet you again :-)
They all sound perfect! they all win!
Amazing playing. I was surprised by the Lakland. The other basses deliver too.
Great playing! Each bass has its positives.
thats some lovely playing bass bro

AWESOME video!!!! Fender & Sadowsky are my choices.
Music man sounded so good 🔥
World class player!
How do you make your recording chain? The tone and levels are perfect. The execution is impeccable!! congratulations.
Bass direct with bassic cable to focusrite, nothing special, no preamp, no eq, no limiter/compresor, on the bass everyrhing flat
You came out on top in my opinion. It's the driver and not the car.
Great playing. Fender's the prettiest for me - though I'm never totally convinced with their 5-strings...
Stingray for the win lol actually all sound great. I miss my Lakland 55-14. Loving my stingray special 5 H though.
LEGENDARY playing!!!
The Lakland sounds great punchy,, The Fender has an impressive look.
music man sounds great when play by finger. Fender jazz slap sounds is just phenomenal
Great music! Fender and Sadowsky are my favorites...
Wow... Fantastic Demo
Musicman is another level! The best one so far.

MUSIC MAN ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I like the Sadowsky and the Fender. Lakland will be my third option and the Music man is out. I've played it and it was the most heavy, unconfortable and hard to equalize bass ever.
nothing beats the fender jazz
Great video!
Que briga de gigantes, só faltou baixo ken smith, parabéns
I am planing Smith vs. MTD vs. Fbass vs. Fodera
I declare the Lakland the winner!
Holy shit I'm wearing the same shorts! Are those Carhartt pants? Love the Musicman BTW.
@@Alainkonijn 🤣 yeah I wear only CRHT
I dig the Rickenbaker...;)
Chefs kiss! What is the backing track for this? It's awesome!
