The precision bass you have sounds killer in this example, mostly due to your excellent playing! I can usually get the stingray special HH to sound really similar to a precision tone when using pick close to the neck (Carol Kaye method).
They all sounded great, each in its own way. With the backing track, I'd rate them 1. P-Bass, 2. StingRay, 3. Jazz. But none of them was weak or lacking in any way, just personal preference. Stripped of the track, I preferred the Jazz over the Ray.
All three bring something to the table the other two don't. I'd have to give it to the Stingray just because of the looks of that bass. Aqua Sparkle for the win!
Great demo!! As a bassist, I always love the sound of a Stingray on it's own-- but it gets lost in a mix. There's a reason the P bass is still the most recorded bass. Producers and engineers love how it sits so nice in the mix with all the other instruments. So does the Jazz but it's a more pokey in the mids. Awesome, video thanks!
such a great video. Love all of yours. Great playing. What bass to choose? If someone like you it´s playing - everyone. But: the thumbrest of your stingray. How cool is that thing. With no additional holes. Where to get these? Thx
All 3 are amazing, however I personally always gravitate to Fenders and whenever I leave home to play I'm always in doubt if I pick a J or a P. For this specific sound I would choose JB.
Greetings from Australia. Cool video mate, All 3 bass guitars sound great, the jazz sounds a little bit more bright, the Precision bass has a little more Growl and the Music Man's Mid is Fat as
First, your playing is sublime. Would you mind sharing the backing track? I feel like I could learn a lot from your lines on this one. Second, I'm a huge Music Man fan but Precision takes this round. 3 of Leo's greatest inventions for sure!
I listened from beginning to end, without looking at the screen. I thought so, 1 - PB, 2 - 100% stingray, 3 - what is this? Also prec? Then what came first? Well, in the end, I got confused, sometimes losing stingray.
The P bass sounds real good, but so do the other 2 but in a different way. Difficult to choose! I like all of them. Thanks for this interesting comparison! ❤
Interesting, I was expecting to think 1. Stingray 2. Jazz 3. PB, but actually, i liked them in reverse. The PB was, for me, a comfortable winner. So I'll take the Rick thanks, but then i am a bit contrary.
For me, a P-bass sounds dry, with overly prominent mids and weak bass - it's like you're playing a regular electric guitar. StingRay has a nice, rounded bass tone. And, in my opinion, Warwicks sound cooler!
OK I'll concede that Fender Pbass won this one with the Stingray a close 2nd - It took a custom shop to beat it though! I assume part III will be slap.
I feel like this wasn't a fair comparison because the P and the J both have maple fingerboards, which tend to provide a snappier tone. I actually have that exact same J bass, and it is a wonderful instrument. But the rosewood fingerboard of the stingray gives it a slightly warmer, fatter tone in my opinion. Anyway, great playing and showcasing of three fine instruments, nonetheless!
@@ObraBass You can say that, but the title of this video states "Fender Jazz Bass vs Precision vs Music Man StingRay - Part II - Pick". Linguistically, that implies that this is a comparison. I am in no way shooting down your video, I even liked it and subscribed. Just disagree with you, that is all.
Just goes to show you that tone wood, and fingerboard wood especially, is psychoacoustic nonsense. The fingerboard on this particular Stingray is in fact ebony, even though your "ears" told you it was rosewood.
Pick is P territory, no doubt. Jazz and Music Man are no shame, but they don't shine as much as a Precision here. Also, you chose a rythmn that does call for a Precision.
the pbass is killer
Man that jazz is so beautiful 😍
Holy 3 way tie! All three so unique, and each one of them fits in their own way. Also - great playing as always.
Thanks!
Great! I love Music Man, I really do, but Precision wins.

Thank you for another awesome video! They all sound great but the Stingray with a pick surprisingly knocked my socks off!
Thanks for watching 👍
I agree with you....and in this tune the Jazz looks the weaker in the mix
Altough I prefer the other two, that is the tightest sounding p bass I have ever heard
Thanks
I have to agree
I've loved pick + StingRay ever since hearing At the Drive-In's "Relationship of Command" all those years ago.
All three bring something to the table the other two don't. I'd have to give it to the Stingray just because of the looks of that bass. Aqua Sparkle for the win!
Precision for Life!!!!!
Great playing on the backing track too! 🥳
Thanks. I like to make backing tracks 🙂
The P bass is just perfect for the pick playing
Amazing playing, as always and tasty sound👍👏💯
Thanks
The precision by a big margin!
Just depends what your into, their all equal to me
Very nice comparison. Thank you.
Thank You for watching
Jazz!!!!
These 3 colors just perfect 🔥
I'll forever be a Jazz Bass guy, but the Precision sounds the best in this demo; Hey, It is what it is.👊🏿

Thank You so much. Regarding thumbrest, Zero Mod makes them for old Stingrays and much more. Mine is 3D printed to match Special Ray.
1.Music Man StingRay 2. Precision 3.Fender Jazz Bass
The Jazz Bass always wins. Thanks Mr Obrad for prooving it again.
Jazz Bass sempre!
With the pick, imo, P>Stingray>J

For me, and for this demo, it’s the P. Thanks for putting this together.
A jack-of all-trades, and pretty good at that, with great personality tho...Jazz Bass forever!!!
I like all of them. Because of course I do 😅
Precision bass all the way any day!
Jazz Bass!!!…perfeito!!!!
I've had all 3 in my life and the p bass is just a very special bass. The jazz and music man are good, but the p bass is great.
PBass !!!
They all sound great. The biggest difference is the jazz bass has a pointed attack in the mix.
They all work
music man !

Thank You so much 👍. I can send You backing track I recorded, just send me some contact. It is btw Street Life by Crusaders.
three great sounding basses. 👌

Stingray all the way
I'll take one of each, please!
Great video. Thanks. Presicion has surprised me
The P bass sounds real good, but so do the other 2 but in a different way. Difficult to choose! I like all of them. Thanks for this interesting comparison! ❤
Thank You for watching 👍
That p tone is the gold standard. What brand strings are you using?
Elixir Coated on all basses.
prec majka ;)
I'll take the one designed by Sir Fender 😂
Interesting, I was expecting to think 1. Stingray 2. Jazz 3. PB, but actually, i liked them in reverse. The PB was, for me, a comfortable winner. So I'll take the Rick thanks, but then i am a bit contrary.
MusicMan graves gruñidos
Precision agudos
PBass RULES!! MM not bad
While mixing, I thought Jazz will be the best!
Nessa parte 2 o jazz bass tem mais timbre dos antogos ... O 1 video o musicm 89 tem um som lindo é perfeito

Superb Comparisson! 😀
Thank You 👍

You assume well!
Jazz bass👍
Jazz bass 4 life
Thé best sound P Bass
Pbass all day!👍
All three for life 😂😂😂
Pbass 🔥

It was not a comparison, but rather a presentation of three different legendary instruments. Thanks for watching 👍

@@markholmes5589 Thanks, no problem at all 🙂. Btw, fingerboard on MM is ebony.

I prefer fender jazz bass

How much The Pbass?
Please send me an email. You have mine in channel details. Thanks
for this particular track it has to be the P bass
Music Man!.....
bravissimo Obrad👍👍👍👍
Thanks !
