That moment when you realize he's completely blind and wiping the floor with you.
Sounds like Seath if you have like 0 curse resistance.
i beat him 2v1 ... i feel like a total piece of shit...
He smells the bluuud on ya.
He's like Toph in a sense.
I still get goosebumps at that line.
But as far as most epic, I think Sovereign's speech from ME1 easily topples most writing in video games.
Or the ending monologue of The Master in Fallout 1. That's a tear-jerker depending on how your character plays it.
2:07 is this worst feeling in the world: dashing out when they're made vulnerable.
I like how he shoots him again a second later. He's so hopeful. :P
Srey For me, the worst feeling is stunning them, but having the attack hit you at the same time, so you're knocked down while they're vulnerable.

Srey it's enough to make a man sick
Gascoigne's two lines are some of my favorite in bloodborne. The souls games have always had great voice acting but this is just so eerie.
It is, so beautifully disturbing.
The souls games mostly use smaller, lesser known actors, who often act in plays, but they're always great. Better than most AAA games that all have Troy Baker and Nolan North in them, over and over and over.
420Praiseit Git gud holy shit he does. I never noticed that before
It's enough to make a man sick
Isn’t it just random whispering what he does?
Man I miss hiding behind a shield and poking my enemies to death with a spear like a coward.
***** play DS2 then :P I quite like the new stuff but DS2 is still a phenominal game imo I just prefer bloodborne
KavatarGaming I have already beaten Dark Souls II and over the days I have gotten used to fighting without a shield in Bloodborne.
***** glad to hear it :P and I still enjoy these games after beating them :D
KavatarGaming That is because they are all amazing games :D
MGTOWIUS who uses a spear in any dark souls game? I found spears to be extremely ineffective.
When he says "you'll be one of them...sooner or later" his inflection followed by his almost surprised turn around into aggression implies hes talking to himself and not the player :(
i actually always thought Henryk had said this to him, and that he's repeating it to himself in mania!
Nah he meant it towards the plays, he himself is a beast just oblivious too it like all the villagers. Some of the villager beast lines when they attack you implies this "away foul beast away!"
@@StallionFernando but gascoigne is still has some control over his body like when he screams forgive me when he dies
@@StallionFernando I recently started this game and for some reason I get the feeling that the player character is actually an unwitting villain (as in he does not yet realize that he is a villain). I realize that the villagers are mad beasts, now, but in EVERY Dracula movie there is always an angry mob wielding torches and pitchforks, and Gehrman has a somewhat sinister air about him. Also: we level up [and heal] with BLOOD and perform really bizarre and inhuman feats such as visceral attacks.
[Edit]: I actually started to get this feeling BEFORE I fought Father Gascoigne (maybe even before I fought the Cleric Beast). At one moment I just suddenly thought about it all.
@@sozaj you are definitely not the villain, the villagers are blood hungry beasts that kill anyone with blood
Father Gascoigne is such a good first main boss. He's got a sick character design, good and creepy voice lines, good lore and he forces you to switch and adapt in the middle of the fight when he transforms
Too bad you'll most likely know zilch of his lore before you meet him unless you found his daughter first

I have been fighting father gascon for so long thinking that he was the first boss.....then I found out about the cleric beast
HAHAHA
funny story... i actually died like 15 times to the cleric beast in my first playthrough, yet somehow managed to beat gascoigne on my first attempt XD
Feels good to know I'm not alone. Cleric beast destroyed me more times than I can count. But as soon as I got to father Gacoigne, I defeated him on my first try. You can't imagine how happy I was! ^_^
It's funny, a friend got Bloodborne for me and when he was over we took turns on Yharnam. He died a LOT at the very beginning and throughout the level, I did a whole roundabout trip through Yharnam back to the second lantern without dying.
Then we parted ways.
I played some more and I got through the whole level with dying only once (to the rats in the fucking sewers). Then I got to Father Gascione, I also skipped the cleric beast. And Father Gascione DESTROYED ME (because I hadn't leveled up even ONCE before, I was still at my beginning level).
When I talked to my buddy I was like "I got through the stage no problem, but the boss destroyed me" and he was like "I got destroyed on the stage but I defeated the boss in one try".
And I thought "WHAT. THE FUCK."
Of course, then I found out it was the Cleric Beast and all was right in the world again.
...haven't fought the Cleric Beast yet, but I almost feel like I'm going to die miserably.
***** that's some good advice
At first I couldn't tell if this was a boss fight or not cause he talks about a shop so I'm like sweet a shop! Then he's like your one of em and I'm like fuck
That's what I thought when I played this game I'm like yay a shop later oh fuck my ass got pwned
haha, i'm guessing you're not british then? it's quite a common phrase saying that something is 'all over the shop' here, the more u know
'all over the shop' means like 'it's everywhere', could have two meanings tho i guess

the moment you feel like trash because you died like 30 times to this boss and used the tombstones to defeat Gascoingne. When this guy kills him in 2 minutes....my life is meaningless.....
You really don't have to be a master to be good at any Soulsborne games.
This guy really borked easy gun staggers, panic dogded away from a safe visceral attack and still technically used the tombstone cheese. As long as you win, it should feel just as rewarding.
WHiiTExV3N0M You'll only ever have trouble with him on your very first playthrough. Afterwards he's a pushover: he serves as the game's admittance test as it were.
Took me about 3 minutes bloodbourne fights aren't the type to get dragged on seeing as though you have limited bloodvials you either beat the guy quick or you die quick there's a middle ground which is being a puss and Dodge poking
I doubt this is the first video this person has made. They may have also grinder a bit to get their level up as well. Still has some nice dodge skills.
I really can't understand you guys. I killed him on my first and didn't grind too much, was with 700hp and 100 stamina.
This boss is basically :" welcome to bloodborne"
His story line.. is so tragic ;-; It always makes me sad how he says "forgive me" when he dies TT^TT Also this song has to be one of the best boss themes in games.

This fight felt like a true fight that is life or death. I was running around the city looking for blood echos, and at about 5000, I stumbled upon him. The fight was an incredible back and forth, but eventually I won.
I lost 8k blood echos to this guy 😂😭😭
I upgraded the Hunter Axe about two times and sunk a boatload of points into Strength. I two-handed it while spamming dodge attacks the whole time, so I did some decent damage with each hit. It was so relentlessly overwhelming, but I finally did it.

It's been YEARS brother... And I STILL get goosebumps from this game... God, I can't wait until it eventually comes out on pc.
Whenever i encounter someone who says video games are just violent murder simulators i have to avoid talking about Bloodbourne. Its an amazing game, and a landmark in video games as a whole, but its the single most violent game ive ever played.
And the violence is so satisfying to inflict, just like DOOM.
Until the last of us part 2 came out and basically reinvented the wheel of violent video games.
It's called "BLOOD"borne. Of course it's going to be extremely violent and gory.
The game is all about how violence is bad though
No matter how much praise Fromsoft’s voice acting gets I still always feel like it’s under appreciated. It’s always on point.

man this is how you beat a boss , man every video i find had them hiding behind the tomb stons , the axe damge is brutal @@
awsome video my friend
It's amazing how this boss is hard in first game, even if you already played Souls games, cause even if you were a powerful Undead, you were not a good Hunter yet. So he teaches you how to be one, you try again and again and you finally manage to kill him. It means you learnt how to hunt and now all the next obstacles you have to overcome in the game are there to let you master the way of the Hunter. Then, if you succeed, you're a true Hunter. And you realize it in NG+ when you enconter Gascoigne once again and literally beat the sh*t out of him easily. He hasn't anything more to teach you, so yeah he's not scary anymore and really is a joke, but he was the best Sensei. Praise Gascoigne-San !
Right when he ''AAAAARRrrrrggghhhh'' while dying, after that, you can clearly hear ''forgive me'' followed by another small grunt
ISS BLUUD
I found out something about him.
When I got the tiny music box from that little girl I decided to play it to him when turned beast and he actually got distracted like he was fighting himself. So that confirms that he’s the girls father. Pretty sad.
It's actually ridiculous how much easier this guy gets once you've beaten the game once. It took me like 8 tries to beat this dude the first time, and even that barely. My heart was pumping so hard lol. Came back to him the day after I beat Gehrman on my NG+ run and destroyed him first try. Gehrman is honestly the ultimate hunter fight. Still gives me nightmares.
Beat him on my second try. He's relatively easy if you use the tombstones to your advantage and constantly stop his attacks with your pistol. I didn't need to throw a single molotov and I finished him off with a visceral attack which was great fun to see.
In case anyone didn’t know, “all over the shop” is an Irish saying of “all around us”. He wasn’t talking about a literal shop

Cyrus Parfait "Skill", when i fight him it deals like twice the dmg is doing to this guy(who is tanking most hits), i get hit by the attack that throws you to the air and it is time to another 15 minutes of loading. Dunno if i am ever gonna kill it ...
Borja Güiles
Well maybe you should work on your parry, have to tried shooting him just as he's doing the up slash?
Actually i get till he becomes Werewolf(?), and then i cant parry him anything for some reason, however i am already getting the hang of dodging everything so i guess it will die soon. Hope they patch the loading time, sometimes it takes more time loading than i am alive xDDD
Borja Güiles
I know right, the load time is my one real issue with the game x)
Wait you can get this boss stuck? I just fought him out right. Died a bunch of times. But when I won it was a great feeling.
Damn memories. I’m gonna play it again.
I wasn't really feeling bloodborne at first, I felt so confused and didn't feel like I was making any progress. Then comes Father Gsscoigne, holy shit did that cutscene wake me up. When he turned into a beast I started losing my shit lol. I don't think it would've been the same if I did Cleric Beast first. Still probably my favorite boss fight, right behind Ludwig.
Wish some of the bosses towards the end of the game felt like this!
This guy is the best teacher ever. I spent one week dying to him but I learned the game well.
When i first got into this fight i immediately fell in love with this game just by the boss theme and the fight itself in the first 30 seconds, and i almost defeated Father Gascoigne on my first try got him to half of his HP bar.
I FINALLY beat this guy. Had the game since its release but stopped playing because I couldn't get past him. Stopped playing for a while. But today I decide to give it a go. And 4 tries later I got him. Best feeling ever
What a concise way to tell the player “You aren’t playing dark souls anymore”
Father Gascoigne can be easy if you get lucky with your staggers and visceral attack. My last time fighting him went like:
-Shot and staggered him when he moved in for his first attack. First visceral attack.
-Activated the music box as he was recovering. While he was disoriented, I moved behind him and hit him with a heavy attack to stagger him again. Second visceral attack.
-Followed up with a series of blows from my threaded cane until he pushed me back with his gun.
-Gascoigne shifted to his second phase. Shot and staggered him again. Third visceral attack.
-Gascoigne turned into a beast. Threw a molotov while it happened to inflict more damage.
-Used the music box for the last time. Barraged him with the whip form of the threaded cane until he recovered.
-Shot and staggered beast Gascoigne as he lunged at me. Fourth and final visceral attack.
-Prey slaughtered.
The only thing that I don't like about ol' Father Gasoline is the arena felt cramped, like I didn't have much space to dodge. It just made the fight more frustrating, not really more enjoyable.
I kind get the feeling the first two bosses were designed to teach new players the basics, cleric beast for learning how to lock on and lock off and dodge behind bigger enemies, and Gascoigne to learn how to gun parry and manage the environment, still doesn't stop me from getting stuck on a tombstone from time to time and getting absolutely fucked aha
I actually think it adds to the suspense. Pretty cool setting I'd say.
I just beat him for the first time (after possibly around 30 tries).
The main frustrating mistake I kept making was trying to rely too heavily on using the music box to backstab/visceral attack him, while he is still in human form. I misunderstood the fight and assumed that he automatically transformed, when he was at 50% health, rather than at around 20% health. So my tactic of immediately trying to use the music box three times did nothing but cause him to transform much sooner than he would have, had I been more patient and just continued fighting normally against his human form.
That made all the difference for me, since all I need was that short window of time to stun him with the music box, use a fully-charged strong attack with my threaded cane, and then squeak in one lucky parry/visceral shot, before he was finally dead. If you cause him to transform prematurely, then you pretty much already lost the fight, since you can only use the music box one more time, and you generally do not have enough time to get his health down to zero, before he inevitably catches you and instantly combos you into the dirt.
I think the best place to fight him on that arena is near the entrance
Tonight GASCOIGNE joins the hunt
This man was straight disrespectful 😭 nonstop hits before I could even get a shot off
The best thing about Bloodborne's gameplay is that this game forces you to become a chad and not a pussy
Beasts all over the shop... You'll be one of them, sooner or later
No boss is as terrifying as daddy gas station.
On the Cleric Beast I died 7 times. Was finally able to beat him. Luckily with Father Gascoigne I was able to beat him on the 1st attempt. I avoided the lower part of the cement all together. Just went to the upper area and every time he would attack or jump attack I would roll past him and hit him once or twice and repeat. He did tear me a new one though that’s for sure🩸⚰️🖤
Wait...
What's that smell...?
IT'S BLUUUDDDD!!!!!!!!!!
Despite how many times I've played this game, I still maintain he's one of the more difficult bosses in it.
"Elden Rings all over the shop. You'll get one of them, sooner or later."
i absolutely love how this could very well be your first boss.
A seconds hesitation means defeat in Bloodbourne
I have an interesting story about fighting this guy...
Now, I hadn't played anything like Bloodborne before, so naturally I struggled a lot fighting him.
But after a lot of attempts, something bizarre happened.
My usual strategy was to run up the stairs, do as much damage as I could, and then jump off the high ledge and back into the graveyard when my health was low so I could heal myself. After running back up the stairs, I noticed he was taking a lot longer to catch up to me. I went down looking for him, and I noticed him stuck halfway in the wall below the high ground. He escaped after a few seconds, then I continued as normal.
Then he seemed to go away again, so I went back to the wall to see if he was still stuck. He was nowhere to be found. I kept looking around for another 20 seconds, but suddenly I saw "PREY SLAUGHTERED".
So basically, I inexplicably instakilled Father Gascoigne, and he wasn't even in his werewolf-looking form yet.
I wanted to save a recording of it and upload it to RUclips, but unfortunately I took a screenshot instead, and it wouldn't let me save the recording. So you'll just have to take my word for it...
Daddy I mean father Gascoigne has such a sad story and I feel bad killing him and leaving the little girl as an orphan
Gascoignes voice is hot like a lot
I'm a dude and am physically attractive, but the personality and voice kills everything Disclaimer I'm like a 7 at best, just in case
I envy dudes with nice voices and attitudes, it's really *something* and then some, especially with het counterparts

I'm about to get back to Bloodborne. Never actually finished it when it came out. Watching this felt like gaming PTSD. I died so many times on this dude
I had upgraded the Hunter Axe twice and sunk a boatload of points into Strength by the time I faced him. The only way I could finally beat him was by spamming dodge counter attacks the entire time, because he was so completely relentless and overwhelming that any hesitation was immediately punished.
Bloodborne was my first Souls game, Gascoigne was my first boss, and it's a point of pride for me that I got him to phase 2 on my first try.
His second form reminds me of Solomon Grundy. I wouldn't mind if From tackled Batman somehow.
I know it's been 4 years but damn, you got me wishing for a batman souls-like
This is the first enemy encounter in the game that truly hammers in the message that this is NOT Dark Souls. Cleric Beast was a nice introductory boss but didn't really require much aggression from the player at all, you can pretty much fight him the same way you would other giant bosses in DS1 and 2. Gascoigne though? He doesn't just incentivise aggression, he fucking DEMANDS it.
First souls orne game, I remember running into him completely on accident, I panicked so hard, but I beat the shit outta him & felt such a great sense of achievement. Amazing first boss fight. Had my heart racing every moment. The fight felt more like a duel & I was on edge the entire fight.
I finished this game a wile back and was amazing. I started it today again and i beat father Gascoigne in my first try. What you have to do is to reach 17 in streanght, 14 in life and stamina with your character and have Kirkhammer as a weapon. He will go down fast, also when in beast form you can use the music box one time, was an easy fight when your setup its proper.
