500 already? That's like what, more than ten per day so far? I mean it's not a huge amount, 500 pages in about a month or longer. But that plus you already being busy with stuff, plus choosing your favorites, etc. Plus a lot more to come. I really hope someone is helping you because 2% of your subscribers is still a lot of people.

Jokes aside, it will certainly be a lot of work but it's well worth it if I can help boost the creativity of the fandom and help keep their love of the show flourishing throughout the break between Volumes 😊

You don't need to be an artist to enter! It's mostly based on how you structure the character within the universe, no artwork is required 😊

Ah, good. A confirmation of contest entry. For those of us following the rules, there likely isn't any problems, but a hard confirmation is nice.
As others have said already, I don't care about winning a prize or anything like that. I just hope my entry is good enough to join the tournament. And ideally, place high in that too. lol

I agree, though hearing there are already more than 500 entries, and knowing from experience on DeviantArt and Fanfictions about the quality and extensiveness of the characters that have already been created, I am already expecting my entry to fail from gain entry ^^'
@@mccoachrailwayproductions8958 Its easy to feel strongly one way or another, but at the end of the day, the way we feel about our own character is meaningless because Phoenix will be the sole judge. And he will likely be looking at qualities we don't even realize.
In my case, I thought I had a slam dunk with my character's art being commissioned, but that doesn't apply now. Now I just have to hope that I didn't over tune her abilities.
So who knows friend. You could win for all you know.

Spent so much time getting the entry just right and I still have anxiety over sending it to the correct email
Remember everyone, let’s try not to fight across social media or anything, this isn’t just about who’s baby is better than who’s. It’s about giving a spotlight to one of the most important parts of rwby: the FNDM. It’s a chance for us all to express ourselves creatively, get to see what amazing ideas and characters other people in the FNDM can come up with, and most importantly, have fun. So let’s all try to be civil with each other, shall we?
With all the entries I'm eager to see who makes the tournament! I'm glad to have entered!
On one hand, I wish I put more work into my character, since found this so late that I had to rush my submission for the former deadline... On the other hand, I made the new deadline, and now I want more than anything for my girl to make a place for herself.
Though now I have two weeks of waiting thinking about all the other actually talented people I'm competing against. The anxiety and excitement are palpable!
The way you talked about the hard deadline made me think of my anatomy teacher. It was mildly terrifying.

man I made the big mistake of submitting my OC Chysos a tad early. I came up with some new additions to him but I can resubbit. "Such is life." I cant wait to see everyone's OC's and naively hope Chysos will make it to the Phoenix festival tournament. keep it up this project is super cool and I can wait to see it, and I can not wait for the full OC team tournament next year.

As for the next seasons of RWBY, I'm not really worried. Rooster Teeth is renewing RWBY Chibi and still producing a lot of other content so until we hear otherwise from the company themselves, I don't think there is a reason to be concerned. Plus RWBY is their most successful show right now, so I will continue to look forward to what comes next 😊
This event convinced me to make a team and start animating. I'm hineslty no longer happy with my submission but it will work for combat

I have a question. Would it be possible for me to unsubmit my current entry and resubmit it? After viewing your semblance video it has made me realize that my character's semblance kinda breaks the "semblances can't create the effects of dust" rule, and I wish to edit it in a way that wouldn't be breaking that rule. I feel it may help my character withstand the scrutiny better than she would if she were judged in my current entry.

Hello I am a recent person who entered the contest, just trying to let you know I made a slight mistake with how I entered my OC, I included a piece from an artist not to be entered as my own it was mostly just for you to know what the character looked like in my head, it's not mine nor was it commissioned by me, it was just an honest mistake because I didn't think it through, I already sent an email, but since we each only get one I fear you may not have read it, so I just wanted to try here.

I was actually wanting to try and make some art for my OC before submitting and thankfully this means I don't have to rush it even though I am far from a professional artist without relying on physical art (though I am no professional without something that just looks beautiful and abstract (because I am terrible at digital art and love water color's and paints and was wanting to put the maximum effort I can into it in order to make something that's at least decent (I will also send a mock up of the character as a 3d model as I am somewhat competent with blender (even if I can't do faces

Thanks for the extension, my birthday is June 10th and I’ve just started moving across the country, so I’ve been pretty busy, this extension is very meaningful to me as I’ve yet to have time to complete mine, and I might get art supplies for my birthday!

I have sent my character in, I couldn't do much due to work and holidays are quite a pain along with getting a new PC, so I cant go back and edit for right now.
Anyways. I did the best I could for the OC I submitted this would be technically the first OC that I submitted to well anything, I may not be the best but all I can do is try, and that's my advice to anyone who is making anything whether its Rwby related or not. Whether it's a video game, fanfiction story, or hell even one of your own series you made, is to give it all you have and don't half-ass it. "True art cannot be rushed"
Enough of me rambling, Pheonix glad you are doing better and I hope you take a look at what I created. It is not the best but I did try to at least fit it into the world, and I summed up the backstory best I could, while giving as much detail I could, while giving a cryptic quote. The OC's name is Rosa Silverback. Silverback referring to a type of werewolf.
Not prying into the p. l. (Personal life) but did Rooster teeth promise you that srph would make some form of appearance in the show?
I wish that one day SRPH could make an appearance in RWBY but as of now, no one from Rooster Teeth has even mentioned my OCs privately or publicly. Hopefully as I make more chapters and reveal the entire Team, someone from RT will take notice and maybe one day there will be a chance 😊

I’m sorry to say this, but I’m afraid that I won’t actually get to share my character after all. I was really looking forward to it but people that I know have convinced me otherwise. But like I always say 🎵Hakuna Matata🎵.
The answer is probably no but even if it doesn’t count may I resend a new picture. My brother told me her I made her head to big and I just want you to see what she really looks like

I am looking forward to this. I am fairly nervous having invest as many others so much time and paitence, including effort for participation with 500 other submissions present. This has surprised me, since was of early addition and confirmation will ease some stress that it went through or not. For all extensive purposes although if I am fortunate to 'earn rewards', that is not what I am out for, mostly expression of creativity and chance, fleeting hope of recognition. I do not doubt steep competition present, or that should be confirmed fortune of success would beyond enthuised about. Either way best of luck. For all those entering.

Would submitting my artwork as picture of it on paper be acceptable? Because I am completely wretched at digital art.
I was wondering this for the OC design entry but can we include photos or videos for reference? I'm not an artist, so I was thinking of including photos of items I had in mind for the character and attach them in the email entry, separate from the written document (e.g. outfit pieces, accessories, or weapons).

Does it have to be an artistic picture to be in the contest? cause I’ve got an idea for a character but I can’t draw and finding a person to do that would be rather difficult and I just want to put in my character just for the fun of it.

This is nothing but good news, sending confirmation emails out is a good idea, puts our minds at ease. I was worried about if my email had gone through. Tried sending the entry on Gmail but the pdf wouldn't attach, so I had to send it with my personal email on outlook.

I hope my entry makes it in, I've been stumped on time to work on my entry because of work last and this month. I also had a hard time with formatting the document and trimming the fat from my ocs bio too.

For those of us sending art we created ourselves, does it have to be uploaded to a hosting site of some sort or can we attach it directly to the submission email? I don't have a DeviantArt or similar type of page.
Directly attach it to the email please. If your character and art is selected, it will be easier to feature it in the video that way. 😊

Google Docs can be "printed to PDF" so essentially you be able to convert a google doc to a PDF. Google Docs can be edited even after submitting the entry so I want to avoid that by having exclusively Word or PDF documents 😊

What are the rules when it comes to page length like I know it’s supposed to be 1 page with 11 pt font but is that it.
It needs to be a 1 page maximum PDF or Word Document written in 11pt Times New Roman font. Those are pretty much all the rules for the document itself

Thanks for the update! This is gonna be so much fun! Even though I didn't summit art, I'm still working on it in my personal time. I think it'll be a chibi style. Possibly less complicated for me to do, and they'll be adorable!
