If I were you why not research very well the different kinds of adjectives such as regular adjectives & irregular adjectives not to make your lesson be confused to the public as well as your subscriber regarding your reference books. Appreciate your lessons. I took the ielts exam and got a 9 in speaking. I used 3 teachers from you tube and you are one of them. Thank you sooo soo much!
Thanks for the explanation for the proper usage of the word well. I know a person who will send me a text message it's one word Well? and I don't respond to it because there was no prior communication so the Well? text message makes no sense to me.
Adjective it is a word to modify noun or pronoun. Good it is irregular adjective therefore, it can not conjugate the word into " comparison of adjectives. Inasmuch ,good is a irregular adjective so becomes better(comparative degree) &;best ( superlative degree) Also, adjective " ill" better( comparitive degree) & best( superlative degree) Other irregular adjectives such as interesting, enjoyable,& readable, etc. These adjectives have antecedents like more ( comparative degree) & most ( superlative degree) That's it..
Hi Daniela!! Great to hear from you again!! Hope you're still watching my lessons 😀 You're right... "I'm good" is soooo frequently used that it sometimes sounds more correct than "I'm well". As I say in the video, I personally say "I'm good" all the time. 🙊 Keep in touch!
You're wrong! It's perfectly acceptable to say I'm good. Have you heard about linking verbs? Do you know that we use adverbs to describe action verbs? To be isn't an action verb!
Exactly. Which is why I said we CAN say “I’m good”... As I said in the video, it’s grammatically correct but it’s not exactly what we want to say. I also say that it IS ‘acceptable’ to say “I’m good”... (but still wrong). 😄
@@EnglishWithGreg one more thing..."well" is reserved to mean “healthy” when it's used in this way - Im well So if you are recovering from a long illness and someone is inquiring about your health, it's appropriate to say, “I am well,” but if you're just describing yourself on a generally good day and nobody's asking specifically about your health, a more appropriate response is, “I am good.”
@@rafawilk5004 Yes ... good is the appropriate word grammatically for "I am ...", just as it would be "Im hot", not I'm hotly; and "well" is an adjective when referring to illness, so it is appropriate in those cases. But given the popularity of questions such as "how are you doing", "how' s it going", "how are you going/doing", then it might also be reasonable to understand "How are you?" as a contraction of these. If so, then the adverb "well" would be the correct grammatical choice: I'm (going) well/I'm (doing) well. As in the question the action verb is also omitted in the response because it's obvious.

Could we say ''I am pretty good'' when someone asks us ''how are you''? Is it correct?
Could you answer me please?
It’s officially incorrect, but people use it so frequently that it’s totally normal these days.
Well enjoyed, it was goood👌
