- The end of our van life - yeah, i can't believe this is real lololol. Saying goodbye to the van was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but umm.... I do believe that our future is going to be so dang bright. Okay - see you guys soon enough :)

I'm Mariah Alice, and I live the "van life" with my dog, Finn. We've been on the road full time since June of 2020, and although our time on the road has been met with what feels like a zillion ups and downs, we've finally gotten to the point where living in a van feels like home. Sometimes we're alone in the woods, sometimes we're alone in a desert, sometimes we're chasing snow or thunderstorms, sometimes we're trying to see all 50 states, and sometimes we're making weekly videos here on RUclips talking about our feelings, anxiety, loneliness, seasonal extreme sadness..... yeah. I don't know what I'm doing with my life. And that's okay. I think :)

This video really drove home the idea that van ownership really isn't any different than home ownership. From the repairs and maintenance to the emotion of moving on, it's so similar. Great episode.

I am sobbing right with ya. I found your channel earlier this summer while going thru one of the darkest times and your videos have been such a safe and calm space for me to relieve my anxiety and just sit and live vicariously through. Things have been looking up for me recently this month. As much as your van life videos mean so much to me, I am looking forward to see what’s in store for this new chapter! Bawling my eyes out with you, and also while reading some of the comments. I feel the same about my baby - my 22 year old/224K mile car that's been with me thru all of life's ups and downs. There's a beautiful poem by Khalil Gibran about joy and sorrow that I think you'd like (if you don't already know it! 😊). "The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain...When you are sorrowful, look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth, you are weeping for that which has been your delight." Celebrating all of the incredible things you've accomplished already with your first heart van, and here's to all the new adventures waiting for you and sweet Finn. 💗💗💗

I am 60 yrs old and live in the Northern part of Australia spending alot of time on the road in my 2002 transit van. this is my 5th van from vw kombi to Toyota's.. once you've tasted van life it stays in you.. can't wait to follow you on your coming journey,take care and stay safe. Hi, once i stumbled apon one of your videos. I have watched almost all of them now, it made me realise what i want. Freedom, and the way you explain your adventures is the way i wanna feel. I am far too young to own a van like this but you have inspired me so much. Whenever i turn 18 im gonna buy a van, to make my small cozy home. My biggest dream was always that i wanted to feel free and alone but i never realised that until now. Thank you for helping me get on my path, i needed something to wait for and dream of. :)
Wow, this was a emotional episode. I know it is hard to let things go sometimes. Sometimes we have to let some things go if we want to move forward with new things.
