I did turn on Dolby, but I just found out the speakers actually get much louder in some other apps (such as music apps). Sony must've limited how loud the speakers get for certain apps (like RUclips) in favor of balancing/optimizing sound. This same audio track gets a LOT louder when played in music apps rather than through the RUclips app. Louder meaning as loud as the iPhone gets. It's odd because other phones don't limit volume for apps, though I understand the intention to optimize/balance for a video experience. Unfortunately that doesn't work as well for a test like this where the intention is to use the phone as a loud speaker. Maybe in the future I will test through a different app because the Sony is definitely capable of matching the iPhone's volume level. It'd be nice if Sony gave users the choice of optimizing sound vs unleashing the maximum volume of the speakers, but for now it depends on the app.
i dont know about new xperia phones but in older ones u could just go to the default music app and turn on some feature called as xloud... it maximizes the volume for all apps.. hope its still there!!😃

Yes I did, BUT Sony must've limited how loud the speakers get for certain apps (like RUclips) in favor of balancing/optimizing sound, because in some other apps (such as music apps) this same audio track gets a LOT louder than the RUclips app. Louder meaning as loud as the iPhone gets. It's odd because other phones don't limit volume for apps, though I understand the intention to optimize/balance. Unfortunately that doesn't work as well for a test like this. Maybe in the future I will test through a different app because the Sony is definitely capable of matching the iPhone's volume level. It'd be nice if Sony gave users the choice of optimizing sound vs unleashing the full volume of the speakers.

RAM is RAM, they do not operate differently on iPhone, RAM is used for storing volatile data such as app programs, iPhone will run smoothly on 2GB of RAM because iOS probably doesn't use that much ram, can't say the same for other apps, they will probably work like shit.
