It was so informative.
I was really expectant for the battery test to check the improvement.
So it reached 7h30m and still 13% battery left.
yeah it's a little longer since there were a few minutes between some sections where the screens were on (you can check the clocks, but it's about 7:45)

Nice job for Sony Xperia 1 II in battery test! I mean, 4K is still 4K even if it is not all the time the screen's 4K pixels still all light up so there is no much difference between a 4K content or a FHD+ when it comes to battery except in performance which will affect the battery a little.

Both seem like fantastic phones but I chose the 5 ii and don't regret it. This was due to better battery life, compact design and lower price. I also personally feel that a 4k display is somewhat overkill for a phone.

Great that Sony is back, and the 5 II seems like a nice more compact version og 1 II, but I still prefer 1 II, due to the larger screen, 4K, ToF sensor and wireless charging. But either one is a great smartphone. It's a Sony ❤️

My biggest concerns on this vid is the screen saver.. If they are exact the left looks blown out like its been sent over messanger. The right looked so clear

The Xperia 1 Mark II has a lot fuller sound (listened over Bang Olufson H2). Seems the Mic makes the difference a whole lot more drastic. :-)

The camera test is just a video test. Wished there was actually photo test because I heard the bokeh effect has been improved on Xperia 5mk2.

I've already try both in Sony store. Holding 1 ii in landscape is more comfortable
My theory why the battery was better on the 5ii is because the 5ii has better cooling. Hotter batteries still discharge at a quicker rate which is why cooling is more important for everything then just gaming. In addition the 1ii has a larger panel and more pixels to push than the 5ii so I think the 1ii does pretty decent overall in this battery test. Also do consider that there is a battery saver feature which will further extend the battery as well. Not bad

I want 1ii with 120hz refresh rate in 5ii dimensions.
Have a 1 ii on the way wanted the bigger screen. I have a 1 and really like the phone but the fingerprint sensor does not work. I’ve tried about everything and only was able to get it to work once and that only lasted a few hours. That was with a factory reset. Figured I’d give it a shot here if anyone has any ideas. I’m gonna be selling phone and would help if reader worked

Does anyone of you, Xperia 1 ii or Xperia 5 ii have any of the following issues:
- ear proximity switch: during a phone call randomly turns on the display, leading to pressing all sorts of buttons with my ear, mostly "mute"? (Happens on every call)
- phone display becomes unresponsive at whatever it was doing (freezes), sometimes I can't end calling someone, other times can't call, other times can't scroll...
- any video embedded in a website on Chrome has distorted (chunky) voice
I am asking because I see very few online traces of people having these issues, but I do have them, from day 1. I need to know wether to try servicing the phone or try to request the money back.
Sony does not seem to have admitted to the proximity sensor issue, but there are people who have them, while many don't.
The sensor seems to switch on the display under 5cm, in my case at less than 2cm. The sensor is at the top of the phone where the head is already a bit away from the phone...

Did anyone manage to have this (exaggerated) sensor sensitivity altered by Sony or do I need to get rid of the phone?

Imagine how much it takes just to get that 8GB of RAM to reload an old task...
Meanwhile, not even using the camera and the 8GB RAM of others would've completely reloaded the heavy games already lol. And nah, it's not even because of battery constraints, as clearly the Xperia 5 II has excellent battery life despite the smaller battery than most others and still running at 120Hz all the time.
Imagine if the Xperia 1 III gets 4500mAh to 5000mAh, then the hate comments about 4K draining too much battery will be gone, and they'd start finding other things to hate again on Sony phones lol.
Recently, Sony made mistakes on the battery side, but this year they did a fantastic job, I the mark 3 generation will come with more capacity, imagine the 1 III with 5000, and the 5 III with 4500 or above, that would last forever lol

No Qi on the Xperia 5, a 800€ phone. Would have been the perfect phone with this feature, but coming from a XZ3 and having Qi chargers everywhere, it's a no go... So sad.

Hi I'm from India . Sony has stopped selling phones in India officially. Now this xperia 1 ii and 5 ii have arrived in India. Is it still a good phone to buy in 2023 ?
They're still great phones but software updates will likely end soon. Depends how important software updates are for you. Cameras and everything else will still be great though.
