I've been visiting Hong Kong (and staying in Tsim Tsa Chui, where Chunking is located) once a year for the last fifteen years or so... next time I go, I know what to listen to. RIP the Crown Prince of Reggae, I fell in love with Faye Wong (who hasn't?) and I salute sir Wong Kar Wai.

I just watched the movie bc youtube people did many video clip to the scenes and I thought it might be a great movie but it turned out it's very shitty. There is literally no romance or emotion in it. It's shitty. it won't worth it. it's completely a meaningless movie.

I commented to the first video I saw so :d and yeah, you're right. it's mostly about creating an atmosphere. Maybe I didn't like the way they live their loneliness. It was the common thing between them. They all found a way to deal with it-loneliness. First man bought a can of pineapple everyday. The criminal woman was busy but also she was all alone and weird. With her wig and glasses. It was how she deal with her loneliness. Finding a way to feel different. And in the last story. The girl was busy with cleaning the police's home and dreaming about NY. The police was talking to the objects. None of them actually lived their loneliness. They all got a reason for what they do weird(like buying cans of pineapple for May's birthday or talking to objects to make them feel okay) That's not how you live your loneliness, yk. They didn't cry, listen to a sad song, watch outside with empty feelings or seemed hurt. After I watched this movie, I really had lots of time alone and I mostly choose the internet and social media. That's actually how I avoid from loneliness. They all had a way to deal with it. Weird or not but they all were had it. Maybe I was angry bc I am not like that real with dealing loneliness. I always thought being loneliness will make you look miserable. If you don't even look like that, you probably are sad when u are alone. That movie was unexpected for me. Thanks for your opinion. Its not meaningless if u find a meaning in it urself. His films always got this feeling, i never understand them and i dont try to either. Even if u didnt like it, i think its good watching movies u dont understand or “feel” sometimes. To show u things ur eyes arent used to, like life i suppose. Also, i think emotion is something u cant factually explain. Its about how each persons heart perceives it. And cinema is art and art is expressing ones thoughts so for u its emotionless but for others its not and perhaps the creator wanted to make it emotionless. Maybe thats the way he expresses himself.
