I mean, it makes sense in context. Who are the number one victims of Islamic Terrorism in the Middle East? Usually, it's other Muslims. So of course they find Achmed funny; they hate those bastards as much as we do!
It’s my favorite bit in the show! I love that these two comedians are so famous worldwide because of YT. Even in places you wouldn’t think they’d be accepted, they are still loved. As you said comedy is universal.
I talked to a girl from Saudi Arabia in college once and she really broke my perception of the country's people. She was SO talkative in class. And one day she basically chased me down to talk to me and then backed me into a wall with how excited she was (we were in a creative writing class and I brought up something she liked if I'm remembering correctly). It's a shame I didn't get to talk to her much. I was WAY too introverted and shy.
I had an opposite expeirence. There was a family who lived in our apartment complex and the daughter wasnt allowed to leave the house without a male escort. By the time we were 12 she had to wear the robes and wasnt allowed to talk to men/boys at all. I found it pretty sad cuz you could see her just looking sad out the window while everyone was playing.
I had Gabriel Iglesias do a show at my local performing arts center, which was literally directly across the street from my house once. He loved the community vibes so much he stayed well past the allotted time as it was the final booking for the day. I can honestly say that the guy carries himself very humbly and is genuinely the best comedian I have ever witnessed.
Alicia going for the hat trick of fluffy reactions and none of them dissapoint, love the comedian reactions and cant wait to see more in the future Banana
There's just one more big story of Fluffy's that you got to watch, and it takes place right after Fluffy's trip to the Middle East (in real life, that is). He talks about how he got cast in the movie Magic Mike, and gave some behind-the-scenes anecdotes. Definitely worth a watch and a react.
On the Islamic culture thing, what a lot of modern Americans don't realize is that in the 70s countries like Iran and Saudi Arabia used to be a lot closer to the U.S. in culture than they are now. All you have to do is look at the old pictures. Clothes, cars, the way men and women interacted. It wasn't all that different. There were always *some* more extremist factions in the region, but there were large stretches where it wasn't the norm. It wasn't until the violent revolution through the last few decades where extremist factions took so much of the region over, and as shown by Gabriel's trip there's a lot of people who would rather it be that but are too scared to stand up to the psychos.
@@otheirony618 not so fun fact, America influenced a lot of the revolutions in the Middle East. Sadam was our guy until he wasn't. We empowered the Mujahedeen, who later became Taliban. @@otheirony618 I could be wrong, but I don't think that's quite accurate. My understanding is that the US didn't "support the violent revolution", but rather unintentionally caused it to happen. From what I can remember off the top of my head, the US government gave weapons and supplies to the extremist faction so they could fight a proxy war against the Soviets. Then when proxy war was done, the extremists used the weapons and supplies the US gave them to take over the country.
The caning in Singapore is no joke... Not only do they whip your back bloody with a thin piece of bamboo, some of that shit is televised nation-wide at lunch time every day.
Exactly, The province of Aceh in Indonesia caning is still practiced there, as is in Malaysia. And just one hit, if you ever see it live. No joke one hit is usually enough but if you get something like 50, well that will probably cause a person to lose consciousness multiple times, which by the way, if you go limp, they will stop and rouse you until you're fully conscious and continue the canings, they want to make sure you are fully conscious when it happens
George Carlin been my #1 most my life. I still remember being super excited when the DVD box set was released. Closest to him now I'd say is Bill Burr, but George really was uniquely brilliant.
Fluffy is one of my favorite comedians, if you haven't already, you need to check out "The Magic Mike Story" as well as Bill Burr "The Helicopter Story"
Gabriel Iglesias, Jeff Dunham, Jim Gaffigan, Dave Chappelle, Matt Rife, Chris D'Elia, Bill Burr are some of my favorite comedians!! I recommend em. Especially Jeff Dunham. He has so many puppets. His other puppets Peanut, Walter and Josè jalapeño on a stick 😅 So funny!! Would love to see you react to them!
That whole tour was a comedy of paradigm shattering events for our Hawai'ian shirt festooned guy, I can only imagine how humble he was for quite a while. Bee tee dubs bananas. I agree with you on Islam, my neighbors are Moslem and the some of most friendly generous people I know.
Since Alicia is checking out comedy, she should watch Doug Stanhope's bit, "Fantasy AIDS", from his special, "Beer Hall Putsch". Guaranteed, it will wreck her with laughter.

On the topic of not all Muslims being extremists, technically, NONE of them are! I visited a Mosque a couple years ago as part of a community volunteer program I was doing to gain experience for employment, a devout Muslim man educated us on the religion and how the word ‘Muslim’ roughly translates to ‘Peace’, it is meant to be a peaceful religion that has been villainised because of a loud minority of people who claim to be true followers but are psychopaths who have forgotten the original teachings
Those psychopaths have taken over much of the Middle East because about 40 something years ago places like Iran were very similar to America and the extreme people grabbed power and changed everything. Religion Police didn’t used to be a thing. It’s gotten so bad that theirs been a Christian Revolution in Iran of all places
Funny enough, I was stationed in Saudi Arabia when the events of this bit happened and he even worked it into his show for us years before it came to his special. Also, just like his Netflix special, he went well over his time. Funny part of that was that Kid Rock was meant to play after him but, Fluffy went on so long that most people went to bed after he left the stage.

Alicia: "The secret word of the day ... Chat give me a word"
Me: "IT'S BUTT!"
Chat: "it's banana"
Me: "FUUUUCK"
is that a reference to that 'who's that pokemon' meme?
@ImPersonNation honestly, I didn't realize it until after I reread it 😅
Def not "Fluffy".
