  • SeaBucks S1E7 In this episode of Sea Bucks, we dive deep in the Maine woods. It's been a rough season. Josh Leach and John Altman have spent many hours in the timber, and it pays off. Leach finally puts his hands on a Maine buck.
1:00 Leach gives an update on what the group has been doing. They plan to hunt a spot deep in the timber.
3:00 Once in the tree, two bucks begin fighting, and the two hunters enjoy the show.
8:00 Several minutes later, Leach finally gets the shot opportunity he's been waiting for.
14:30 They meet up with their friend, Cody, and all three head back to the woods to blood-trail the buck. It doesn't take long to recover it. Then, they celebrate.

I hunt in Nova Scotia Canada, a little East of you guys. I can relate to the challenge of hunting an area with not many truly big bucks. Nice job guys! Great Buck!

A lot of people in Maine don’t let the deer grow, that’s a big Maine deer. Isn’t a giant like you said but it is one hell of a bow kill, and it’s worth every bit of time invested to harvest a deer like that. Super stoked for you guys and I hope your 2020 season goes even better!! Is that deer 4 years old would you say?

A lot of people in general are too lazy to go deeper to where bigger bucks are so they end up shooting spikes and forks.

That is a great Maine deer, I was born and raised in Brewer, Maine. Now living in Minnesota, I still go back to Maine every November. That deer is more than likely 3.5, but very well could be 4.5 because of the belly drops slightly. But, you're right a lot of hunters there hunt for meat rather than letting the young bucks grow.

And how people choose to hunt here is no concern of anyone's, and its lack of wanting to learn lack of time lack of skill so you can say only Small deer are shot here and whatever your opinion is because its only opinion and zero fact, Maine still has a lot of massive deer you just won't see a hunter that hasn't done his homework or put the time in tag him that's fact

Really beautiful animal. It is so bad/awful killing them. And that poor animal did not die straight away. It was badly injured by that arrow and must have suffered in a lot of pain before dying. I am someone who gives a damn for the animals - because they are actually living beings who FEEL and want to survive - in the same way we all do. But it is these hunters/animal killers who have no feeling and just cold-blooded. And I (a person with empathy/compassion) hate that this goes on. It's a terrible horror show!!!!
