If I had a Dollar for every time I've heard a reactor say "Before Angelina sang this, I never really knew the lyrics," I'd be a rich man. I've heard it twice already today & it's only half over. That's because Angelina is the best storyteller vocalist I've ever heard. She tells the story and you listen intensely while being mesmerized, some say hypnotized. It's Magic (a very appropriate title for her 1st album in 2018).
I think the reason we understand the lyrics better, for each classic song Angelina sings, is because it is all about the song to her. Angelina did some fabulous vocal gymnastics in this performance, BUT unlike other vocalists, the story of the song was clear and beautiful.
Absolutely captivating... Not a peep out of the audience... And all she needed was a piano... Her voice spoke to the lyrics, her heart commanded everyone's stilled attention!! Love it!! OUTSTANDING👏🏻👍🏻👌🏻 P. S. Any of that pudding left? 😂😂. PEACE!!

I strongly believe that Angelina Jordan has been blessed with the GOD given gifts of not only a beautiful voice, but also the ability to emote the essence of each song she sings direct to our hearts & souls to allow us to also deeply FEEL her music as it flows through her. By now you probably know that Angelina did not win this AGT "competition". (IMHO she was never going to win since her family would not sign the standard AGT contract.) But Angelina did win in the sense that her AGT performances brought her worldwide attention & acclaim. Shortly after leaving AGT Angelina signed with Republic Records. Wow - quickest reply ever! As great a singer as Angelina is, I believe she's an even better person & humanitarian. To get a better understanding of Angelina's musical roots & humanitarian performances I highly recommend: her Norway's Got Talent audition singing Gloomy Sunday at age 7 (she was barefoot even at that age & her winnings from NGT were given to a children's charity) & her interview with Anne Lindmo at age 9 (after releasing her book & becoming the youngest published author in Norway). In that interview Angelina reveals why she always sings barefoot by reading from her diary that she kept at age 6 about her experience in the Middle East. And - her performance of Here Comes The Sun which she performed around age 11 at a charity event for children around the world. Thank you. Two years ago Angelina held an online christmas concert, it was where she sang 'You Say' that you reacted to earlier. And Rob Christie, the musical director of Republic Records, also the pianist on many of Angelinas videos, gathered quite the cast of musicians for this event! (Im guessing it was his doing, cause he seemed to know them all from before) Etta James' (amongst others) saxophonist, the base player who made the famous 'These boots where made for walking' base line, who also has played with everyone ever famous in music. And, to my point, Gregg Field, the drummer of Count Basie and Frank Sinatra (amongst others). And Gregg had the following to say, at the halfway pause when they all sat down together and chatted with a big cup of hot chocolate with mashmellows. ""I wanna compliment you Angelina, and im not exaggerating when I say this. You have a gift - for storytelling. And the greatest singers that we've worked with, Buble, certainly Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Luther Wandross, if you remember Luther. Basically they were wired, so that whatever they said, they meant. And Frank famously said 'I never let my singing get in the way of my storytelling'. And I was REALLY impressed! "Where the dogs of society howl" is an unusual lyric which I never picked up on when E.J. sang it. For Angelina, I realize she has this soft and low singing style but I would have preferred a higher key. It was just too low for the girl. Maybe if I was her manager she would have won. ;-)
Angelina's family refused to sign any contract with Simon which would have given him any control over her career. I have to think that played a big role in her not making the top 5.

Angelina used Sarah Bareilles' arrangement. Sarah is an incredible artist, but Angelina brought it up higher, with a softer sincerity. lts the softness and the sweet runs which gave it more impact.
Why is he stone faced? Because AJ wouldn't agree to binding contractual agreements if she won, which she we would have, that's why she placed 5th. What AJ got was massive exposure to the US market, she still won.....sorry Simon.

@redheadedneighbor Cowell has some very restrictive and over reaching contracts for people that win AGT, including ownership rights to the talents music....Simon needed Angelina more than Angelina needed Simon, girls got clout, that's what happens when you have actual talent that sets you apart from everyone else...AJ's the boss.
