    Really nice looking mower. It's a combination of all the improvements the Toro Turfmaster needs. I'm glad Ferris is listening to the field operators.

    Great overview of it! Appreciated you taking us under the deck. Such a cool machine! I'm interested to see what you think about it after some use. Interested to see how the bagger and mulcher kits work as well. I think that's going to be important for the way most guys will look to use this thing.

    I've seen quite a few ppl hate on this mower but the same could be said to the old 32 Hydro that operates very similar. I have the older model and I absolutely love it. I'm tempted to get this new model as a back up for the real beast!

    I picked up one last week and have about 2 hours on it. It’s built like a tank. I’m impressed with the quality of cut and hope it improves even more with the high lift blades come in. I have a pretty steep hill in my backyard and it actually climbed the hill pretty well mowing diagonally up and down the hill. I think a dual hydro would hold the hill even better but honestly, it did a good job. I increased the speed of the mower while going up the hill to make it climb better. My only complaint so far is the small fuel tank. I mowed about 8,000 square feet or about an hour of run time and had just a little gas left in the tank. I was side discharging my grass. If they decide to increase the tank size I hope it can be a retrofit. Didn’t take me long at all to get the hang of this mower. For the size and weight, it moves well. It’s not going to be as fast or nimble around small islands or tight corners like a 21” would be but so far I’m impressed with this mower.

      The left caster. I was loading it on my trailer and it split open it snapped where it was welded. I took it back to the dealer I saw a fw15 on display it was already modified whith a thick support in instead the thin black tube. It's almost a month because shortage of that frame. I'm not happy!! it cuts great and good power but if is not making money its not good.

    Love your FW 15 videos. I mow sometimes in some mucky areas and my current push mower would get a bit of mud on the deck and wheels. Do you think that with the chain/sproket area of FW 15 mower being uncovered that would be issue? Have you noticed that area getting nasty and needing a cleaning? I can't imagine that being an easy clean. Thanks!

    Genuinely just curious, but what would be the purpose/application where being able to lock the front caster wheels straight would be beneficial?
    The only scenario I could think of would be when transporting it, that may help keep it stable and possibly less likely to roll around the trailer or truck bed, but other than that, I can't think of a practical use.
    Anyone shed some light on this for me?

    I've looked at many mowers that look similar and all of them use a cogged (timing) belt to keep the blades from hitting each other. The drawback being, if you hit something hard enough, the result is broken spindle housings. Is the deck belt (not the drive belt) a V-belt or a cogged belt?

    After watching this, I went to Ferris's web site. I have to admit, this mower is VERY NICE, and I would like to get one. According to their Q&A page, they are now shipping a mulching attachment, which I would guess would block off the discharge chute, and they claim that some time this week, they will be shipping a cloth bag to catch clippings. At 16:02 when you were talking about the gas tank, I noticed gas leaking from the cap. Was that because gas was leaking from a vented cap, the cap was not on tight, or something else?? I am also curious about the price.

    • @HandyGuy2016
      @HandyGuy2016  5 лет назад +1

      Absolutely! The price is right at $3000, so it's not cheap, but I will make money with it. The switch is a long story, but basically Ferris has the best Standers, and better pricing/service. My local JD dealer, really failed me in the customer service department. Wright makes a great stander also, but I think Ferris has them beat with the Z3X and the big block Vanguard with the oil guard system, and the Ferris is cheaper with a longer warranty.

      This is my first one, so I don't have anything except a WB belt drive 36 to compare it to. That being said, this is much more user friendly, smoother to operate, and lighter. It's more like a commercial push mower, than a Walk Behind.

    I purchased one for my hilly backyard---after using it twice I returned it. It is difficult to move (yes, even with the hydro) It seemed like it would be a homerun, but for me it just wasn't there for me. Cut quality was average at best. I actually have better cuts with a commercial 30 or even a 21" Honda that is my current weapon of choice. I also could not understand their thinking on the oil and the lack of a real tube to change the oil.

      @@NewVisionLCS I had to crunch the numbers to make sure it was going to make me money. It's definitely not cheap, but I want something that will last and I think this is the one for me.

    Im guessing they (B&S) did not want to design their own engine to put on it. Its like Ford who owns Range Rover, use a toyota engine in the Rovers lol. B&S should have thrown down and designed an engine.
