So no more clerk jobs?
No thank you.
It's a big vending machine, but you're the machine part.
Moving completely in the wrong direction boycott them
$11 for candy in a bag of chips? You can get ten times that amount for the same price at the dollar store..
Ummm... I can already do all that now at any grocery. It's called self checkout.
Definitely have to count on honest customers running a setup like that
Amazon has stores just like that. This isn’t new
I won't be using these stores. I prefer having human beings behind the counter.
I know some people who feel the same. For me and others though, these stores are great. I have only used self checkouts for the last 15 years. This new type of store will be even faster. Scan stuff as you go and leave. No waiting in checkout lines.
No thx
A bag of chips and a bag sweets for 10+ dollars…
that"s pretty average at any convenience store in a city (or worse)
... and for the privilege you have to hand over your banking info.
@@jptrainor Just like at any online retailer.
A complete joke... a homeless dream
Cashless, CBDC = Complete control
Yes agreed and this pur evil and cashless society and bible warns about that and revelations 13to14 and many people are asleep and and think it’s a good thing and have no idea what it’s for but I want the world to wake and get right with Christ and he will open your eye to this. God woke me up few years ago and since then I will not fall for this garbage.
Why is this allowed?
Why wouldn't this be allowed? If you're pro-capitalism, this is very capitalist. And if you're pro-socialism/communism, this is great too, except for existing in a capitalist society.
Apparently humans prefer convenience even at the expense of privacy.
Not exactly convenient.
Do this in L.A. or S.F.😂
We have similar stores in South Korea, and stealing was crazy at first, but it came down. Since now fewer people are stealing, they have no problem catching the bad guys because they have cameras and credit card information.
I think prices are expensive than the stores which have cashiers and staffs serving us
Not for me.
The world has gone to hell in a handbasket thats for sure
as we move towards the "mark of the Beast" ... it's all about the buy in for convenience...
You're like 2000 years late for the mark of the Beast.
@@Tzimisce how so ? ... please explain your hypothesis
Thank you for being aware of what’s coming. Many won’t believe until it’s too late
So what's to stop someone from loitering by the door, wait for a user to go in, they rush in behind and rob the store? Even if the door locks after its closed, the thief can just go out the fire escape. Not sure what security would be there but seems like a business that's going to be a prime target for criminals.
Also please CBC can you allow comments on your videos?
Even with the app, they can go in, stuff their pockets, and walk out. I assume there are cameras but, those don't catch everything
There should be law to force cbc to keep the comments open we pay them
What's to keep criminals from loitering around bank ATMs after hours to steal people's money? It's the exact same issue.
….. and we pay how much ??? Same price or more … no employee no jobs!! Who wins here!!!
Is there like no such thing as community and human connection anymore?
YOU SEE THERE IS NO REAL FOOD IN THAT STORE IF PEOPLE WERE SMART THEY WOULD NEVER SHOP AT THESE STORES PUT THEM OUT OF BUSINESS AS THEY HAVE THE SMALL BUSINESSES
Did the taxpayer reimburse the CBC reporter for her convenience spending to do this video? I could have bought the same crap she did at Walmart for half the price and used the self checkout and would have left the store faster than her.😂
Lmao. "Put ur banking info in"
It’s over people 😢
Lol nowhere near as advanced as Amazon Go stores.
not a good trend, we becomes labor to do work ourselves for airlines, shops, banks..etc
on the other hand, companies hire less people
What keeps people from coming in and just shoplift or eating without paying???
What happens if someone decides to bolt?
They have all your banking information and id. They will still charge you then send your info to the cops as well😂.
You need the app to access the store. It will have all your information.
Good luck paying during a banking network outage.
hmm someone is going to be waiting for that door to open to rob or sleep in there. I like the idea of the store but this isn't Japan
Just like people do at ATMs and we still have those.
prison life isn’t any good
Love this. Would be great if it expanded to grocery stores like they have in the US. So much faster to scan stuff as you go.
I'm not interested about canada
Does Canada not have Apple Pay lol
We do, it's just called Apple/Google Peh
😊
Cost of a bank card and an employee on every shift vs. cost of electronic systems and the assumption of everyone using cell phones for everything. Definitely looks like an idea I'd like, but requires tools I don't like to use and cost too much to use everyday. So a store for people above my financial means.
Just some thoughts,.. A store with products I'd buy, with hours I need, but is not able to be used. Sigh.. I wonder how much this ad cost? And why it's news?
Soon there will be a screen that will display an AI person. It will say “hey you didn’t pay for that “. No need for people anymore
Then we’ll finally achieve paradise. Can’t wait.
CBC news network morning show needs a revamping....time for the younger generation to take over we don't need a grand mother in Heather , or Kalata behind the desk. provide a little more entertaining desk.
