Hi thanks for the comments I appreciate it. I used to be heavily involved in 40k going back 10 or 15 years. I was in a program called the Outriders where I taught painting and gaming on behalf of GW. When they closed GW's Canadian branch I went from painting 3-4 hours a day to none at all. I was really sad to see all the work we did go unrecognized and a ton of my friends lose their jobs. I Eventually went to historicals about 4-5 years ago. That however is all water under the bridge now. Maybe someday I will do some 40k again...
There are generally people who enjoy the painting and gaming side of the hobby, and those that are just gamers (or painters). You should approach the hobby however it suits you. One of my regular opponents is much more into playing than painting. He slaps some quick flat colour paint jobs on and throws the models on the board. It looks fine and suits him! Players are not going to be too concerned how you paint, as long as you have fun.
Great work on the Napoleonic's. You are a natural wargame painter whatever era
Thanks Steve! I appreciate that.
When you were painting the jacket I was SURE you were going to snap off the bayonet with your finger. Laughter. Nice video friend!
Oh rest assured i did snap off the odd one...
A good start, thanks for posting, keep up the great work
Thanks! More will follow soon.
Look really nice ! I'll give your way a try on my hanoverians.
Give it a shot! I actually have an update of this coming out featuring Hanoverians this weekend!
Nice job, no doubt!
Thanks Phil. I really appreciate that!
Nice work
Great video! What are those small round bases called? I can't find them anywhere. Do you take it off after you've painted it?
Those round basses are part of the model on warlord brand plastics. They are not wide enough to keep the model stable so I add the square base.
Great vid mate
Love your channel, awesome talent. Wondering if you would ever dabble in a bit of 40K?

I am surprised that an experienced historical wargame painter did absolutely no research before painting these.
I was just too excited to get painting. Since then I have been reading every Napoleonic resource I can get my hands on. Which I have been enjoying.
Using your method would take forever. Better to leave the figure on the sprue.
10 mins per one, 20 soldiers, 200 mins 😭. I wish figures were sold painted
