This used to be a hotspot for bird watchers and the park was conceived in consultation with the birding group to keep as much of the original old trees etc around as possible; that is why some parts of the park feels like been around for awhile. NPark really did a good job on this. There are already reports that migratory birds are stopping by here as the season begins. Also, next time you are there again, try look for finlayson squirrels, they are almost exclusively found in this park. They look very different from the regular brown one.
I will keep an eye out for those. I’m so pleased to see so much wildlife there already making home. You can see alot of thought has gone into this park for people, plants and nature in mind.
I really have to give kudos to the planners of this park, both the Nparks landscape designers as well as the nature activists who advised on the project. It’s no mean feat trying to retain the original vibe of the land but with man-made conveniences to make it more accessible to young and old alike. And thanks very much for capturing the essence of this new park for your viewers. It’s certainly a must-visit spot.
This park clearly had a lot of research and thought put into it for sure. It's got a little something for everyone and the way the wildlife are already making the area home shows the thought that went into that too. It's also going to be a great cut though to many places too.
Thanks for showing us the new park. Beautiful. Chinese Garden and Japanese Garden reopened over the weekend. If you've not been there, you can wait a few weeks more, coz the park still looks "raw". The new plants and trees are still struggling from the heat i think. If you really want to go this weekend, dont miss the Water Lily park in Japanese Garden. The waterlilies are blooming now. So many different species too. Gorgeous!
Hello, yes the new Chinese and Japanese gardens are just beautiful, we already look forward to re visiting in a few months time to see things more established and growing.
Lovely video and thanks a lot for the food recommendation. I was at the park just last week and the landscaping looks amazing. Also as a birder, there are tons of birds at the park and some migratory birds are choosing this park as one of its stop over park too. ^_^
Amazing how the place transformed… just maybe 20 years ago or so, the place was a spooky old cemetery, the kind with huge iron gates, big cross tombstones, dark and eerie… It’s now a beautiful town.

I love how Singapore is making the efforts to create places like this!
Totally agree.

Is time for you guys to come over to the newest park. The Chinese and Japanese gardens. Located at Chinese MRT station
We did over the weekend and loved it!
Studied at Potong Pasir from 2006-2017 and went past woodleigh everyday. It went from a quite quiet and nothing much place from my perspective to lively. Wow!
Oh wow quite a change I'm sure. We've noticed the big change in just four years too.
Thanks❤
Thank you for watching!
Good morning! Please visit the rejuvenated Chinese and Japanese Gardens. 🌳😊
Yes! Keep an eye out for next weeks video 😉 have you been yet?
Not yet 😁
Did you see our latest video??
Chestnut Nature Park episode? Yes, Aspen found a friend 🐛😁
She loves those caterpillars, often moving them and snails off the pavement so they don't get squashed.
Very Glad to see your videos 🤙👍🤗
Ah thanks!

yup mine too, most of my elders are buried there. my grandfather passed on in 65’, he was 72. born in 1890s.
Thank you I'll have a read.
There isn't much to explore except hawker centres. They all offer the same stuff anyway...try exploring the IKEA canteen for a change 🤣🤣🤣.
There’s heaps to explore! You just need to look for it 😊
Sorry that is not nasi lemak original look tho. That in Malaysia is nasi kerabu
Ah thanks for explaining! ☺️ delicious. What would you say is the main difference between the two?
