Two tips that helped me...Front leg extended to move the board more downwind at the start.Sheet out after you stand to keep from "choking off" your Kite. Thumbs up!IM me if you are coming through Pensacola.
I am learning to snowboard and now I can see why snowboarders have much easier time with waterstarts. I think the motion when you are coming out of the water is very similar to the one of the snowboarder making toe side turn when they point the board downhill and let it run flat for a second with the weight toward the front foot. One of my biggest problems when I learned waterstarts was too much weight on the back foot that killed all the speed and did not allow the board to get on plane.
Shifting the board nose downwind while rolling up is a huge deal! I think because we all start square to the kite it’s so easy to roll up and sink, skip, super man etc, purely because of not redirecting the board. Also getting over the board more and riding it flat for a beat, not straight leaning back like I was edging from the get go!
The best experience comes with a practice. When you first time feel the pull, you understand your kite response time, than you can see what is going on.
Good video. Something I’d like to see is how to find the edge once you start. I have trouble moving from planing to edging. It’s where the poop stance happens. Can you help?

Hips forward, straighten front knee, slight bend in back knee, apply pressure through heels and open torso to direction of travel.
Awesome!!!
Congrats on reaching 1000 subscribers :)
Thanks guys!
Thanks for the awesome video 👍
Thank you
Thanks
GPS on your left wrist?
Anyone know the intro song he uses? Trying to find it.
How does the kite get in the air tho?
All images show the bar un-parallel to the water. keep the bar flat with the water, don't turn it as the kite turns.
I like the longer format, could even be longer - can't get too much kiteboarding info ;)
Thx. For that!
@@TheOKKiteboarder- although I never heard from you about that gopro I won ;)
dpwild328 Sorry. Winner was B. Basnicki in Ottawa 🇨🇦
Back leg very flexed
Did you really mention downloop in a beginner waterstart!!
I think the key word was “eventually”....?
🤟🏼
Totally skipped the most difficult bit: getting the board on feet 🦶!
Good video. Timer was distracting and not relevant to the lesson
Good call Dan! Thx for the feedback.
