Where does JackPilot install? It isn't in my applications folder. When I launch the QjackCtl app that in the "jack2-macOS-intel-v1.9.22" that's in the downloaded folder, I get a message that says "Could not connect to JACK server as client. - Overall operation failed. - Unable to connect to server. Please check the messages window for more info. I realize this is a much newer version, given that you made this video 4 years ago
Awesome. So what if I want to play all my recorded tracks from Tracks live though multitrack, then back to my x32? I guess I didn't understand the reason you did 24 and 8. Was that so only 8 of your channels had a processing though multitrack? And the rest were just the dry recorded tracks? I guess I'm asking if it's possible to run this for all 32 tracks? Thanks!
Yes, exactly. We only run our last 8 channels (all vocals) through multirack. If you wanted to run everything through multirack you totally could. For us, the consoles EQ and comp are good enough for most everything else, but vocals REALLY benefit from some very specific plugins (like PSE, F6, LA-2A and 1176...etc)
Is there any way that this works with SuperRack Performer? I can't find any resources on VSC through an x32 with SR Performer and would love to understand how to get this to work. Any help would be appreciated!
Did you ever have any luck with this? Trying to do the same thing. When I install Jack, "JackPilot" never even becomes an available application on my Mac. It seemingly installed nothing. I have a "QJackCtl" but that looks very different.
@@KenDeavers I actually figured out a solution on my own and it requires a software called OMNIBUS by Audiomovers. I just posted a video on my channel going through the setup! You can comment on that video if you have any questions!
@@chasshields645 I uploaded it as a Short, so if you go to my shorts, it should be there. I think the thumbnail is my laptop screen, so hopefully that helps you find it!
What was the system hardware? Did you have a Waves card or just the USB record? Assuming you are using Waves card, into cpu and using Waves and then simultaneously using TracksLive to pull the audio from Soundgrid Network? Trying to see how you record and use waves live not on virtual.
thank u for this video .. I am very beginner i want to order A&H SQ5 And I have a laptop (Dell XPS 15, 32GB Ram , i7 CPU 4Core) I would like to use plugins in a live mix with multitrack Using A&H Waves Card or dante (Without the SG Server ) and recording the same time from the mixer to USB Flash Memory or from the mixer Via A&H USB Card to RME UFX+ to record the tracks Via USB Flash memory , Or directly into DAW (Cubase) with the Same laptop (If possible).. I wat to use 12 tracks only and my plugins its shortlist (SSL , H Delay , Abbey road reverb ,EQs) for now I have old mixer and I want ur advice for best way to plugins for live and recording same time..
You can totally use Waves Multirack and Waves Tracks Live simultaneously to run plugins live and record. This however is obviously risky unless you have a monster of a computer you're running it on. If you can swing the extra money for WSG card, then have a computer you're multitracking on through the USB, I think that would be ideal. You could also split your dante feed with a switch and send your audio to a different computer through a dante feed that is only multitracking. Hope this was helpful! Good luck!
I was going to use this to record tracks live directly off my M32-WSG card while using super rack so I could then go back to my studio and mess with plugins between shows but jack2 is now called QjackCtl or something and nothing looks like your video above. I use OS X is this no longer something I can do?
I'll need to research this more. Off the top of my head, I'm thinking this might work: If you're not using AES50B, you could send your incoming signal out of that to a DN9630, then connect that via USB to your Mac. Set your superrich interface as the WSG and set your Tracks Live interface as the DN9630. When you need to play this back, you would simply set your input block on the M32 to AES50B, this should allow you to playback your multitracks and use WSG for Virtual Sound Check at the same time.
Looks like this is indeed possible. Here's Waves instructions on how to set this up via Reaper: www.waves.com/support/how-to-set-up-reaper-for-soundgrid-playback-and-recording
@@Dimitrislzd13 So it looks like they changed the interface since I made this video, but one thing that might still be the same is the importance of launch order. Quit all your other applications, then launch QJackCtl, click the play button to start the connection kit, then launch your applications. You should then see your apps in Jack audio and be able to route your connections.

Something tells me theres a way to do this natively in SuperRack though...

There’s not any more Mac OS binaries app. Can you upload it on Dropbox or somewhere else to download it? Please copy and paste the link at comments.
Try grabbing the installers on this page: jackaudio.org/downloads/
