I just imagined how my elementary students would react to the epic sleigh bells when they already freak out over the regular ones. And now I really want one in the closet just so I can bring it out to keep them entertained when I'm too tired to teach
One of my students had to make his own sleigh bell stick last week for a band “concert” recording from home. He did not make a 25 lb monster... but he is only 12. Pretty awesome that he even tried, and it sounded perfectly decent.
I've actually heard a story of an orch. percussionist building a gigantic slapstick like the one in the video. The conductor unfortunately was sexist and the casual (who was a woman) was playing a regular slap but kept getting stopped by the conductor because they weren't 'loud' enough, despite the instrument/playing being fine, and suggesting offhandedly for one of the guys to take over the part. He was known for doing things like these with female players. One of the section members thouhght that was bull and took some initiative before the next rehearsal and went to a hardware store to craft their own whip. Mr. Conductor didn't have much to say when at the next rehearsal right before her entry, she pulled out the 7 foot deathslap.
Triplets on the wood blocks alternating between the two of you is no easy task. Well done! Love the supersized instruments. Next video maybe a 22" tambourine made out of bass hoop or hula-hoop?
Our high school band recently built a slap stick out of 2 8ft 2 by 4's. The noise it produces is no joke, I am not joking when I say you can hear it from the other side of town. I posted a video of it being used in our spring concert
I don't think that I need to say much about Sweetwater, but will. I've been buying from them for over 10 years, and they are HANDS DOWN the absolute best. If you have a problem... they fix it. If something is running late due to no fault of theirs... they fix it. They're simply the best retailer around. Regardless of the fact that they only sell musical instruments. They beat any price. I still shop my local retailer to show support, but they don't always have everything. That's when I reach out the place that has EVERYTHING.
(I know you wanted the giant sleigh bells to look like an oversized normal one, and this is likely a one-time use gimmick) If I were making these, I might have put one handle on each end. Could either be played by one player with outstretched arms, or two players holding it between themselves. In my experience with normal sleigh bells like the ones you cannibalized, the cloth strips coming unstapled from the wood is what breaks first. Needing to hold the giant one in the middle by the bells, especially with all that weight, could work the staples out of the wood pretty fast. Great video!
LOL. "Confuse the Engineers in Sweewater by.... ordering 12 SLEIGH BELLS!" 🤣🤣 For Sure David Cola can use them for something with his sweet smile amd giggle laugh. Lol Peace David! Just kidding!
Between the no push stick, eye protection, or masks, I think it's safe to say he doesn't care much for safety. Not to mention collabing writing cross-country guests in the middle of a pandemic. Hope he doesn't end up like Tyler from music is win.
I remember playing that song in high school for the Christmas program. The simulated sound of someone getting all festive on a horse's ass always made me laugh
Hop over to Eric's channel to see us use these overly awkward instruments!
I promise, If i ever go through Virginia, I am going to find your house and meet you. You’re single-handedly my favorite creator.
This turned out great! Was def a good time building these BEASTLY instruments with ya
It looks fun to play the big sleigh bells,
can you make me one?
You are like a percussionist Steve T, anyway you are great
😎 Thanks for being the staple boy lol. Well make those gong hats next time 😉
@@rdavidr OH MY GOD YES
WAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!?
I’m not scolding you or anything, I’m just confused
Best crossover EVER
Quality content
i was omw to say exact the same thing... WE NEED MORE OF YOU TWO!
“Avengers Endgame is the most ambitious crossover in history!”
David and Eric: Hold my slapstick
its so satisfying when you mix the song with all the sounds you make in the video
therapist: wide Eric with giant sleigh bells isn't real, he can't hurt you
wide Eric with giant sleigh bells: 0:27
I’d like to give Dave some love for the effort put into seamlessly interweaving the backing music with the video shots.
It’s weird seeing emc without the damn cadence lol
Finally a collab for the Morning People
I just imagined how my elementary students would react to the epic sleigh bells when they already freak out over the regular ones. And now I really want one in the closet just so I can bring it out to keep them entertained when I'm too tired to teach
Me and my band are actually trying to make them lol
Dude! Two of my favorite people and RUclips channels combined! This is awesome!
This is epic!!! Both of these guys are hams and really good drummers.

When the cool kid and the nerd get paired up for a group project. (I’ll let you guys decide who’s who)
Oh emc is for sure the nerd hes very open about it
The question is which one do you subscribe to?
@@JerridFoiles make 420 accounts and subscribe to both of them 69 times with each account
More videos EMC please!!

This will go down in history as one of the most E P I C collaborations between 2 humans.
Too fun! One of the best edits yet my dude.
I love how he does different edits that go along with the music in the background like at 2:27 and 4:22.
My 2 favourite youtubers in one video together! It’s like a Christmas present!

Absolutely beautiful, bravo 👏👏
This is exactly what I needed, my two favorite RUclipsrs.
The LAST thing i was expecting as a manny mcmann add. This was def an epic crossover
Epic! What a fun project! Great job guys!
The musical edits are out of this world
david is the king of musical edits
7:13 THE POWER OF EDITING IS A BEAUTIFUL THING
the ducking with the drill is hilariously great.
I recently saw this dude in a recommended video thumbnail, and I thought he was Stevie T playing drums 😂
So, the question is: are you now subscribed to EMCProductions? He definitely has EPIC content!
Thanks for the content, great colab!!!!
Always great vídeo editing! So fun to watch
Nice split wood black parts! 😎
My favorite drummers making a RUclips video together. WOW
Triplets on the wood blocks alternating between the two of you is no easy task. Well done! Love the supersized instruments. Next video maybe a 22" tambourine made out of bass hoop or hula-hoop?
Nice.
I’ve been waiting for this for so long!

thanks for another year of quality content.happy holidays dude.
You always kill these videos man. Super awesome! I just started up my channel, you've definitely been the inspiration for that.
That was nuts a dozen sleigh bell sticks! I do want to make this now
Not including tax, it would cost about 1 dollar a day! (to purchase the sleigh bells). Don't know how much lumber, etc. would cost!
You can’t say “slap the like button” without a bass
It’s the Law
These guys have such different personalities it makes for such a great collab
HELL YEAH
Jeez the music editing when making the slapstick was amazing
Didn't know i needed this.
Thanks!
Omg good video
This is the crossover episode i needed in my life
I can't believe I missed this video because I was in boot camp, this is amazing, what a crossover!
I love each of you separately, but this is a whole new level
phub on drums @ 6:38 ? 😂
anyway, phenomenal video that i never knew i needed!
The collab we never knew we needed
yeah man, this slaps!
The crossover I've been waiting for
6:28 Music is: Jobii - Merry Had a Little Christmas
You're editing skills are glorious and I feel like it doesn't get enough attention
the collab i never knew i needed
Two drum nerds in the same room, what could go wrong.
Their styles are so different but i love it
syncronicity - I just stumbled on EMCproductions' video on learning Bleed!
Wide Sleigh Bells Eric 😂😂😂

We have been waiting for this video
Just opened erics video
As a non drummer, what would happen if you had a really big snare? Like took a bass drum and really long snare wires?
This is perfection
My two favorite drummers come together, what could be better?!?!?
Great job guys!

The most ambitious crossover since invite war
Love the Staple-gun percussive beat! EPIC Editing! (too many things to comment about...)
This is amazing
I can finally die happy that this happened
Loved it
Ducking the music for loud sounds while making the slappy boi was pretty nice. 10/10 would watch again
Are you doing a gifts for drummers video?
Been waiting my whole life for this moment
Didn't expect the manly mans man cave commercial
I just love the RUclips drumming scene!
Those bells look like a work out
I love your videos man! You should try the possibilities of the Remo Rhythm Lid... I think it's an affordable alternative to a snare drum.
"Confuse your sales engineer" lmao
LOL. "Confuse the Engineers in Sweewater by.... ordering 12 SLEIGH BELLS!" 🤣🤣
For Sure David Cola can use them for something with his sweet smile amd giggle laugh. Lol Peace David! Just kidding!
Eric is the Stevie T of drums
That’s exactly what I thought
so we all thought he is atleast related to him.. right? ;)
Great! Now let's see you do the same thing with "Syncopated Clock".
You're scaring the shit out of me. Make some push sticks for your table saw.
But I am jealous of your shop setup. :-)
Between the no push stick, eye protection, or masks, I think it's safe to say he doesn't care much for safety. Not to mention collabing writing cross-country guests in the middle of a pandemic. Hope he doesn't end up like Tyler from music is win.
That split at the end
My high school did this exact thing last year except we only did the whip crack. There is a video, but it’s hard to find.
I audibly gasped when he Eric flipped the chisel. That could have easily ended badly.
Ha I've been waiting for this collab
I want to see you hunt monsters with those sleigh bells
You know Eric’s really made it when he guests on David’s channel.
Now you need hulk hogan and the rock to put the smack down on some holiday season.
What extension are you using to hold the screwdriver bit?
I feel like my universes are colliding
I remember playing that song in high school for the Christmas program. The simulated sound of someone getting all festive on a horse's ass always made me laugh
I've made brass bar chimes, on hi-hat bells, also sleigh bells and slap stick. If I made them unusual scale, I might be a u-tuber !
Upgrades people upgrades XD
