The rumor has been spreading for awhile but its official now! We've been keeping it quiet in our town cause we don't want the overwhelm of people needing our services as we fumble around learning how to order parts. You think we are crazy? ....
CONGRATULATIONS NO YOUR NOT CRAZY JUST BUILDING YOUR LEGACY AND BUSINESS
@@scottmaz4063missed you … where you been! Hope all is well. It’s been a bit stressful with the learning process for both of us 😂
@WillFixThat we went on our 11 day cruise and came home with covid. Was recovering. Cruise ships just large petry dish. Never had covid 1st time. That new med to clear up fast is nasty. Been catching up on videos. Congratulations with Volvo
That’s was me, congrats on the Volvo deal. I told you I would keep that a secret, it was so nice enjoying lunch and a drink with you guys. ❤
Thanks James we had fun! It’s been really official a few weeks! We haven’t advertised here yet! We don’t want the overwhelm … so we are sharing it here first! 😊
Good things happen to GOOD PEOPLE!!! Congratulations you all...........
Thanks Ron.
Definitely Skag Guards! I know several ppl that put them on over brand new Skag’s just to protect new ones!
Well as you see we come to the rescue after the damage 🥴
Congratulations! Volvo will be happy to be so well represented. Best of luck with the new partnership. Well deserved.
Ah thanks Float Your Boat 🙏 we must be crazy 🤪
Volvo makes a very good product and I think they have gotten better about customer support and stocking parts in the US.
But parts are pricey. It's just the nature if the beast though.
Having a reliable and honest service facility with you guys will be a win-win for you and Volvo.
Thanks boatfire it will be an adventure!
I’ve had good luck using skeg guards for repairs. Nice clean look.
That’s great to hear …. We had the owner look at it before we drilled any holes just to make sure. 👍
You guys deserve all the best, CONGRATS!!!
Thank you 🙏 it should be more fun 🤩
Last spring I hit a sandbar right in the middle of the channel markers (near Atlantic City, under three foot draft), be careful on those spring trips, a lot can change over the winter.
Exactly especially where we live during hurricane season!
Congrads on Volvo Dealership! Always put bearing grease on the inside of the skag guards. Change out once a yr along with typical annual service.
Thanks for the tips!
Love your videos, congrats on the Volvo appointment, they could not have a better man on the job
Wow … Matt’s going to love reading that appreciate your kind words!
little digital angle guage, get the angle of the fin above prop and then match that to the angle of the skeg guard to get your hole locations
Thanks for the tip we rarely install these guards.
I have no real experience with Volvo diesels. I have heard a few stories about reliability and costs to maintain, but heck all marine engines can be expensive to maintain. The guys with Volvos in your area will be happy you are a dealer. Travel expense will be less , parts should be easier to get, etc. I think it’s a win for all involved.
Thanks Jim … maintaining boats is expensive! Getting parts for Volvo Penta customers will be easier for them for sure.
Congrats on your deal with Volvo. I hope it is a mutually beneficial one.
More to come as time goes on!
1:42...The first auto dealership I worked at after I was discharged from the USMC was Volvo. Can't say for now but back then, (late 70's), they were top-notch. Their schools for mechanics were one of the best I've had experience with.
I can't believe the Marine Division wouldn't be the same. Good luck.
2:29...I kissed a rock with our Merc 200xs 7yrs ago and had a replacement welded on. SFSG
Lots of training to be done …. ✅
Congrats. Always nice to see good honest people succeed. All the best.
Thanks Jim should get more interesting. We will do our best!
Congratulations!! Good things for good people!
Thanks Harry …. It should be fun just adding more chaos!
Congratulations! Volvo couldn’t have picked a better dealer!
Appreciate those kind words …. Now to get to work learning their system! Matt’s been studying on the weekends. Required training.
Congratulations!!!! You go !!
We will do our best as always 🤣
Congrats on the new deal hope it works out well
It’s just another offering that we have for our Volvo penta clients. 👍
Congratulations to Volvo. They got some good people. Hope you make some good money.
Thanks Bucky …. It’s just another offering that we have now.
Congratulations 🎉. Great things happen to Good people. Happy to that you are/ will be Volvo dealer.
Thanks Stephen hoping it doesn’t increase our work load too much!
Welcome to the volvo penta family. 😊
Yay we made the cut! 😂
Congrats!!!! Sounds solid!
Rock on! It’s official!
Wow thats great for you guys.
Yup it’s been going on for a few months …. Took some convincing for us but it became official a few weeks ago.
Parasail boats could be huge for you guys. Its always an emergency they need to fly
There’s only 2 emergencies fire and flooding! No parasailing or air conditioning these do not classify as Emergencies! You have to remember we deal with real emergencies!
Congratulations!
Thanks more to come 😊
Warranty is requested until approved by the factory until then it is the customers responsibility.
Exactly … we are working on a warranty now! Some stuff was covered and some not.
congrats guys
Thanks much Dennis!
I’d get it welded. Skeg guards look cheap. If you can afford a boat with three motors you can afford the fix.
Well depending on how you want to spend your money!
Good luck.
Thanks John we shall see …. 👍
Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 🥳
Thanks it should be an interesting journey that we can bring you on!
That’s awesome!!!!! Congratulations for your continued success!!!!
Thanks John we shall see …. Maybe too much more work! We’ll do our best we maybe have to turn our focus. Time will tell.
Good luck with the dealership. Just remember, you do you. Don’t let Volvo run you. Just be Matt.
Yup it’s just another offering that we have & the word is getting out! We haven’t advertised it where we live yet … didn’t want overwhelm when we are learning a new way of ordering parts etc.
Lots of seal changes on the pods
We shall see 👍
I can confirm that. And in a place with lots of fishing = lots of pod seals. Don’t get me started on the sensor wiring
Best of luck y’all!!
@@jeffdavidson8262thanks Jeff!
Mazal Tov on the Volvo deal! Now Matt has to meet up with Luke and John.
Mikey who is Luke and John? Always open to meet someone new.
@@WillFixThat they're 2 dudes from biblical times. 😎
@@MikeyDee25ah gotcha 👍
Saturday time and a half Sunday double time. Holidays triple time
Exactly only cash too 🤣 right?
@@WillFixThat hey I'm retired Teamster cash is always good 👍
Volvo-lations to you both!
Thanks so much … 🤣
Congrats! 👍👍
Thanks 🙏
@@WillFixThat 👍👍
volvo best engine in the world love my 1350-ips ;-) congrats
Thanks it’s going to get interesting 🤣
fly Navy. Great place.
Yup FLY Navy 😎
I installed a skegGurd about 18 years ago on my bravo1 X and haven’t had a problem. But I did pre fit then filled the cavity with aircraft fuel tank sealent and shoved it on.
Wow that sounds like a permanent fix 🤩
Miller Highlife the best 😊
Cooking beer IMO.
Congrats!!
Thank you time will tell 👍
trying to drive that boy crazy ? "top the tap ! "
Remember this is all live not recorded so sometimes we might miss speak! This is real life … this young man knows.
Matt, were you carrying a 40 on ya'lls walk to the highest point in Key West? Thought you might have one that bet with your employee!😅
lol no that was an early morning with our water container but he did win the bet! 😉
Having had several boats slipped at Boca Chica Naval Air Station marina..the stories of poor maintenance and repair are and were widespread. It is very difficult to find a qualified and truly honest boat/naval mechanic. The cost of living and housing is just too expensive to retain quality mechanics. These folks seem very qualified...how they manage their time must be a challenge.
Unfortunately due to base requirements we don’t work there! We tell customers they have to come to a dock in KWest. Something with the base being able to forfeit our ID cards for making $$ on base. Crazy rule but we chose not to work there.
👍👍
Hey fatcat 👍
Congratulations i would love to be a diesel mechanic for yall i do have a degree in diesel technology lol 😅 but i was on over the road trucks
haha told you it was coming ....
@@WillFixThat lol, oh, I know yall did, and I was keeping it a secret 🤣
Vovo never heard of it.
🤣 Volvo Penta.
@@WillFixThat just kidding, congrats, sounds like a good move.
@@610boating5 I know you were teasing …
Matt, you're doing 40's now?
lol he wishes …. He was trying to make it challenging for our young guy to find.
Why do they leave those motors in the water
Not sure crazy we left them up when we finished! Last week we walked by and they were cleaned!
You don’t do black water 😂 I don’t blame you.
Nope that’s a pretty sheet job!
weld-r-up
Thanks for sharing.
I think your going to be used to doing your own work and billing the way you do it. Now you’ll have a giant telling you how to do everything. You’ll have so many administration items that it will consume your day. By watching all of your videos, it shows you running the show, but now Volvo warranty people will.
Well that’s partly why we said no a few times! But, if we don’t try it we will never know! We shall see. We’ll do our best! Thanks for watching.
Those skeg guards are junk. The only time anybody puts them on, is AFTER the skeg is damaged.
And now your just adding to the corrosion issue with more stainless.
As far as Volvo Penta goes? I think you'll be sorry. Manufactures can be pretty hard to get along with.
Appreciate your input we will see what happens on our future journey!
why would you leave the outboards down for the barnacles and scum to grow? geez.
Well that’s why we told him to leave them up! He got them cleaned we show it in an up coming video.
Why did the previous Volvo dealer go out of business????
The original owner of 30 yrs sold to a few people that weren’t mechanics and then the old owner died and the new owners just couldn’t make it.
Volvo is going by the way side not popular as once was no buddy wants one and everybody knows parts are to expensive and hard to get and harder to find service and harder to work on., so if it doesn’t cost you anything then Whoopi
Cummins & Caterpillar don’t forget MTU all are expensive pick your poison! What do you like?
The closed Volvo dealer may be a good indicator 😢
Nah unfortunately he wasn’t a mechanic and struggled with knowing what was right on jobs.
Volvo is painted Green for the color of money. I would Not buy a boat if it had a Volvo in it. I have owned them in the past they will not stand behind there own parts and they are dubble the price as other parts. You company seems straight up and Volvo is Not they cost me thousands , they have as bad of a rap as Fisher Panda
Good luck
Hey Steve hopefully we can make our Volvo clients experience better than what you’ve had! But, boat engines being Volvo, Cummins and MTU you name it are pricey! Appreciate your feedback thanks so much for watching! We will do our best as we do every time!
The Volvo dealer that worked on my boat was not the problem , Volvo was the problem . I would buy a 1,100 Two stage fuel pump and it would last 6 to 8 month. And the part had a year warranty. VOLVO said it was my fault it did not last and they would not warranty the pump unless a certified Volvo deal installed it??? So I paid to have them replace the next one , it went bad and the deal said it was not them Volvo would not cover it ...
I bought 7 pumps and found out every one was having the same problems.
I have owned several boats with all different power plants I have never seen a company not stand behind there parts that a dealer installed? Try explaining that to your costumer as a dealer . The company I used to work on my boat is no longer a Volvo dealer.
@@stevegerwig3278we understand what your saying this just happened to us with a brand new generator… it cost us a lot of money to make it right for our customer who has used us for about 8 years.
