Great video! More like this one please! Care guides for each species of Nepenthes would be great! :-D Maybe you will be the first to give a comprehensive guide to the most well known Nepenthes species, I've not seen any other video care guides yet.
That ampullaria is awesome, i cant grow lowlanders particularly easily at the moment. Hopefully when i get my greenhouse up and running properly i'll make a lowland chamber.
i agree, let it grow then chop. if you let it grow a long vine, it will concurrently build a strong root system. if you chop too soon, you wont have that robust root system to push more basals.
If your carnivorous plants are growing inside your greenhouse, how are they getting insect as food? I have pitcher plants at the wooded edges of my property. I live in CT. I have to bring all my tropical plants(most are citrus trees that I must prune severly) into my basement in the non-summer seasons.
Do you think I could grow a hanging ventrata in front of a north facing window that gets bright shade all day? I could also spray it but my room has relatively high humidity as I have a lot of plants and 2 fish tanks
Great plant, I've had mine for about 7 years and looks a lot like yours with 2 nice basil shoots this year! Thank you for your videos.
This is very helpful with this plant 😊
when i hear the notes of that sweet, sweet intro i know, i am in for a great time
Not sure if it’s the same way in captivity, but in the wild, ampullaria are largely detritivores, meaning they feed on rotting leaves
What substrate mix do you recommend to obtain these results and what fertilizer do you use?
nice graden orchids. i like it 😄
Love this species especially when it gets high humidity and light it gets cute cups everywhere
+Nepenthesman Totally!
Nice intro fakeout, haha. Impressive plant.

A question when do ampullaria get that iconic small leaves
I have had my ventrata for over a year now and with my personal experience I say it's alot easier to look after than a venus flytrap
Have you had an Upper pitcher at all with this Ampullaria? I hear they are really rare. Also does it flower often?

How do you keep their pitchers that big? may ampullaria does grow well but produces teeny tiny pitchers even with increased humidity.
Are the pitchers growing on the vine?
Adoro seus vídeos,parabéns.

they dont need insects but im sure some get in like at 12:11 you can see a small spider running on the leaves
once in a month is actually enough for them
but its actually impossible to not to have bugs on there

Yes you can do that but you do not need to mist but it might help with pichers developing
yummy/ ty, had no idea they got so big,,wow. are those hoya in the background ?
Can we get an update on this plant
Could you recommend a plant that doesn't get too big, but is easy to care for.
Nepenthes ampullaria doesn't get very big but it you want a tiny plant just stick to a venus flytrap
how did you get those plants to hang from the ceiling?
nice vid 😀
I'm struggling with this plant right now.
Technically this is the highest plant on the food chain
Ampullarias are vegetarian right?
